According to ESPN’s Jim Bowden, the Mariners are offering their GM job to Jerry Dipoto.
Yankees assistant general manager Billy Eppler has also been called a finalist for the vacancy in Seattle, but it sounds like the top choice to take over for Jack Zduriencik is Dipoto. (Jack Z was fired back in late August). Dipoto served as the general manager of the Angels from October 2011 until this past July, when he resigned after a falling out with owner-backed manager Mike Scioscia.

Phillies claimed RHP Grant Holman off waivers from the Tigers; optioned him to Triple-A Lehigh Valley.
Holman is with his fourth organization in three months after being DFA’d by the A’s, the Dodgers and the Tigers. The 25-year-old has a 4.66 ERA in 38 2/3 innings, all with the A’s, as a major league reliever.
Glasnow's K milestone marred by early exit
After making MLB history on Wednesday, James Schiano dives into Tyler Glasnow's early removal, assessing how fantasy managers should move forward with the "mercurial" starting pitcher.
  • PHI 3rd Baseman #28
Alec Bohm is on the bench in favor of Edmundo Sosa for Thursday’s game against the A’s.
Bohn’s xwOBA has been somewhat better of late than it was at the beginning of the year, but that’s not saying much. He’s 4-for-20 with two RBI to begin May, leaving him at .159/.227/.206 overall.
  • SEA 3rd Baseman #33
The Mariners are planning to activate Brendan Donovan for Friday’s game against the White Sox.
Donovan, on the IL with a groin strain, was supposed to play in two rehab games, but since last night’s was rained out, he’s returning after just one. He’ll presumably go right back into the leadoff spot for Seattle. Jhonny Pereda will likely go back to Triple-A, assuming that Cal Raleigh is fine to catch.
  • BOS Relief Pitcher #79
Red Sox signed LHP Raymond Burgos to a minor league contract.
Burgos, 27, joins the Red Sox after posting a 5.25 ERA in three starts in the Mexican League. He also allowed one run in 3 2/3 innings for Puerto Rico in the WBC this spring. His major league experience consists of one appearance with the Giants in 2024.
  • ATH Catcher #23
Athletics activated C Shea Langeliers from the paternity list.
Langeliers is back after three days away and presumably will start against the Phillies tonight, though the A’s have yet to reveal their lineup.
  • ATH Catcher #29
Athletics designated C Austin Wynns for assignment.
Wynns had to know he was losing his spot when the A’s acquired Jonah Heim, but he stuck around for a few extra days with Shea Langeliers going on the paternity list. Now that Langeliers is back, Wynns is gone. The 35-year-old was off to a 3-for-39 start at the plate this year, giving him a .077/.143/.077 line.
  • NYY Left Fielder #24
Jasson Domínguez is undergoing an MRI on his left shoulder and is in concussion protocol after crashing into the wall in the first inning of Thursday’s game against the Rangers.
Pretty much as expected. Odds are that Domínguez is going to wind up on the IL even if the news on his shoulder isn’t the worst-case scenario. It’ll be interesting to see if that leads to the debut of Spencer Jones, who is hitting .258/.366/.592 with a 32 percent strikeout rate in Triple-A. If the Yankees don’t think he’s ready, perhaps they’d go to Yanquiel Fernández. They could also bring back Anthony Volpe and play José Caballero in the outfield, but that seems unlikely.
  • PIT Relief Pitcher #57
Pirates placed RHP Chris Devenski on the 15-day injured list with an illness.
Devenski was supposed to return today from a two-game suspension for hitting Sal Stewart, but he’ll be down for at least a couple of weeks. The veteran has given up two runs and five hits in 2 1/3 innings for the Pirates.
  • PIT Starting Pitcher #64
Pirates recalled RHP Cam Sanders from Triple-A Indianapolis.
Sanders gave up four runs in three innings in three appearances with the Pirates last month. He’ll rejoin the bullpen.
  • CWS Relief Pitcher #49
White Sox optioned RHP Jordan Leasure to Triple-A Charlotte.
The move makes room for the newly acquired Trevor Richards. It’s Leasure’s first minor league demotion since the end of the 2024 season. One of the White Sox’s most reliable relievers while picking up seven saves last year, he’d given up five homers in 16 1/3 innings this season, resulting in a 6.06 ERA.
