Barrios missed the 2016 season following rotator cuff surgery. The 24-year-old should be ready in time for next season but will now have to earn his 40-man roster spot back.

Harper put the Phillies on the board right away with a three-run blast off Bubba Chandler in the first inning, continuing a hot May with his fifth homer in the month and 11th of the season. The 33-year-old first baseman is hitting 283/.378/.548 with 27 runs scored and 29 RBI across 193 plate appearances.

Turner knocked a base hit to lead off the game and scored on a three-run homer by Bryce Harper. He then drew a walk in the second and scored a second time on a Kyle Schwarber double. Turner would collect an RBI of his own on a double in the eighth. The 32-year-old shortstop is hitting .237/.289/.344 with four homers, 28 runs scored, 14 RBI, and six steals across 201 plate appearances.

Sánchez was masterful on Saturday, tossing the third complete-game shutout in baseball this season. He scattered six hits and no walks, tossing an efficient 74 of 108 pitches for strikes and generating 17 whiffs to strike out a career-high 13 batters. The 29-year-old left-hander has posted a 1.82 ERA, 1.20 WHIP, and an 80/14 K/BB ratio across 64 1/3 innings. He’ll follow up the dominant start with a matchup against the Guardians in Philadelphia on Friday.

Chandler got in trouble right away, giving up a hit and a walk to put two runners on for Bryce Harper, who took him deep for a three-run blast to get the scoring started in the first inning. The Phillies piled on two more runs on a double by Kyle Schwarber in the second. Chandler managed to toss a scoreless third, but that would be it. He struck out two while issuing four free passes. The 23-year-old right-hander ends the day with an uninspiring 5.14 ERA, 1.52 WHIP, and a 36/31 K/BB ratio across 42 innings. He’s lined up for a start against the Blue Jays in Toronto on Friday.

Miller returns after missing just the minimum 15 days while dealing with a lower back strain. The 28-year-old should be a mid-to-late inning option for the Giants now that he’s healthy enough to operate in said role.

Beck is optioned with Erik Miller (back) coming off the injured list. The 29-year-old will be an up-and-down option for the remainder of 2026.

Brennan is up to take the spot of Heliot Ramos, with Ramos hitting the injured list with a quad strain. Brennan will likely operate as a bench option while with the Giants in this stint.

Ramos picked up the strain during Friday’s game against the Athletics. The 26-year-old will be out of action for at least a week-plus, but quad strains generally lead to a little longer stint on the shelf. Will Brennan has been recalled from Triple-A Sacrament to take Ramos’ place on the roster.

Doyle has been on the short side of a platoon of late, starting against just one right-handed starter in the last two weeks. He was in the lineup Saturday against left-hander Eduardo Rodriguez, batting second. He collected two hits, including a double, and crossed home plate twice to score two of the team’s four runs. The 28-year-old outfielder is hitting .204/.271/.269 with one homer, 19 runs scored, three RBI, and eight steals across 118 plate appearances.

Carroll drew a walk in the third and was caught stealing second. He then drove in a run for Arizona with a double in the fifth. Carroll later drew a walk in the seventh to reach for a third time. Saturday marked the first time Carroll was caught stealing on seven attempts, and he’s been more aggressive coming into Saturday with steals on back-to-back days. The 25-year-old outfielder is slashing .272/.384/.503 with five homers, 28 runs scored, 21 RBI, and six steals across 177 plate appearances.
