    Mets released OF Travis Taijeron.
Taijeron posted a .540 OPS during a cup of coffee with the Mets in 2017. The 31-year-old put up an .860 OPS with 24 home runs at the Triple-A level in 2019.

Blue Jays recalled RHP Chase Lee from Triple-A Buffalo.
Lee rejoins Toronto’s relief corps ahead of Tuesday’s showdown against the Yankees with veteran lefty Joe Mantiply hitting the shelf with knee inflammation. The 27-year-old made one relief appearance for the Blue Jays last month before being shipped back to the minors.
Trout, Vlad Jr. lead MLB on NBC, Peacock this week
Start your Sunday with the Pirates and Blue Jays on MLB Sunday Leadoff at 12p ET on Peacock. Then, watch as the Rangers and Angels meet for an AL West clash on Sunday Night Baseball at 7 pm ET on Peacock and NBCSN.
  • TOR Relief Pitcher #35
Blue Jays placed LHP Joe Mantiply on the 15-day injured list with left knee inflammation.
No word yet regarding how long Mantiply will be sidelined. The 35-year-old southpaw has pitched extremely well in his Toronto debut with a sparkling 2.04 ERA and 16/4 K/BB ratio across 17 2/3 innings.
  • STL Shortstop #0
Masyn Winn (calf) is out of the lineup for Tuesday’s series opener against the Pirates.
Winn remains out of the lineup after making an early exit from Sunday’s game against the Royals with left calf tightness. The 24-year-old hasn’t been sent to the injured list, which is an encouraging development. Fantasy managers should consider him day-to-day for now. It’ll be César Prieto handling shortstop in his absence.
  • PIT Center Fielder #15
Oneil Cruz has been dropped to fifth in the lineup for Tuesday’s series opener against the Cardinals.
Cruz has made some strides against left-handed pitching this season, but the Pirates are going to give Nick Gonzales a look atop the lineup against Cardinals southpaw Matthew Liberatore on Tuesday night.
  • PIT Right Fielder #34
Pirates recalled OF Jhostynxon Garcia from Triple-A Indianapolis.
The Password is in right field and hitting sixth in his Pirates debut against the Cardinals on Tuesday night at Busch Stadium. The 23-year-old outfielder possesses an interesting blend of fantasy-relevant tools, but he’s probably going to strike out too much to be impactful in shallow mixed leagues. There’s enough power/speed combo intrigue to dream on, especially if he makes some strides in the plate skills department. Garcia can be left on waiver wires in shallow formats, but he’s worthy of a speculative dice roll in deeper leagues.
  • NYY Starting Pitcher #45
Gerrit Cole (elbow) will make his season debut on Friday against the Rays.
It’s happening. Yankees manager Aaron Boone confirmed that Cole will make his return to Yankee Stadium for his first start since Game 5 of the World Series back in 2024. The 35-year-old former fantasy ace has looked extremely sharp in recent rehab outings after missing all of last season recovering from Tommy John surgery. He averaged a crisp 97 mph and threw 86 pitches over 5 1/3 innings in his final rehab tune-up last weekend, which means he shouldn’t have any workload restrictions during his season debut. Get your popcorn ready.
  • HOU Starting Pitcher #43
Lance McCullers was scratched from his scheduled start against the Twins on Tuesday.
No word on the reason for the move. It’ll be Jason Alexander making a spot start in his place. It’s worth noting that McCullers has been pitching through a lingering fingernail issue that cropped up earlier this month during a start against the Dodgers. There should be an update on his status shortly.
  • CLE Relief Pitcher #50
Guardians recalled RHP Codi Heuer from Triple-A Columbus.
Heuer returns to the big leagues with rookie Peyton Pallette away from the club on paternity leave for a couple days. The 29-year-old was just shipped to the minors prior to Monday’s series opener against the Tigers and probably didn’t even make it to Triple-A Columbus before turning around.
  • CLE Relief Pitcher #41
Guardians placed RHP Peyton Pallette on the paternity list.
Pallette will be away from the club for a couple days on paternity leave. The 25-year-old rookie reliever has posted a respectable 5.49 ERA, 1.53 WHIP and 21/13 K/BB ratio across 19 2/3 innings this season as a Rule 5 pick from the White Sox.
  • TEX Relief Pitcher #31
Rangers activated RHP Chris Martin from the 15-day injured list.
Martin returns to Texas’ high-leverage mix for Tuesday’s contest against the Rockies after missing nearly five weeks recovering from a shoulder impingement. The 39-year-old veteran remains a highly effective late-inning arm, but he’s dealt with a plethora of physical issues in recent years, which isn’t completely unexpected at this stage of his career.
