According to Britt Ghiroli and Katie Strang of The Athletic, current Angels pitching coach Mickey Callaway “aggressively pursued at least five women who work in sports media, sending three of them inappropriate photographs and asking one of them to send nude photos in return.”
Some of these unsolicited electronic messages were sent as recently as 2020, and Callaway’s behavior allegedly “spanned at least five years, multiple cities, and three teams.” There are graphic details -- and even screenshots of some of Callaway’s texts -- at the link below. When asked to respond to the allegations, Angels spokeswoman Marie Garvey told The Athletic: “The behavior being reported violates the Angels organization’s values and policies. We take this very seriously and will conduct a full investigation with MLB.” Callaway worked as the pitching coach for the Indians from 2013-2017 before a short two-year (2018-2019) stint as the manager of the Mets. He was hired as the pitching coach of the Angels in October 2019.
