Pirates recalled OF Troy Stokes Jr. from Triple-A Indianapolis.
Stokes was 2-for-4 with a home run in limited minor-league action this season and batted .233/.341/.385 with nine home runs and 14 stolen bases over 322 at-bats in 2019 in Triple-A. The 25-year-old will take the spot of Colin Moran, who was placed on the 10-day injured list with a groin injury.

Jeremiah Jackson went 2-for-5 with a two-run home run in a loss to the Diamondbacks on Wednesday.
Jackson launched a 387-foot home run off of Eduardo Rodriguez at 110.4 mph off the bat for his fifth home run of the season. He’s now slashing .340/.345/.604 with 14 RBI and has emerged as a full-time player for Baltimore. With Coby Mayo struggling and Jackson Holliday (wrist) still working his way back from offseason surgery, Jackson seems likely to remain in the starting lineup and should be rostered in pretty much all formats while he’s swinging it this well.
Is the excitement for Schultz warranted?
Eric Samulski explains the upside and downside to White Sox rookie pitcher Noah Schultz.
  • AZ Starting Pitcher #57
Eduardo Rodriguez allowed four runs on six hits in five innings in a no-decision against the Orioles on Wednesday.
He also walked four and struck out three while posting just a five percent whiff rate. Rodriguez had looked good in his first three starts, but even then, he had just an 8.8 percent swinging strike rate. He was always primed for regression. However, he should remain on the streaming radar next week against the White Sox.
  • BAL Starting Pitcher #38
Kyle Bradish allowed four runs on eight hits in six innings in a no-decision against the Diamondbacks on Wednesday.
Bradish wasn’t great in this one, striking out four and walking one while posting a 23 percent whiff rate. However, he did throw 66 percent of his pitches for strikes, and two of the runs that he allowed came on a well-hit fly ball to left field that hit off the glove of Weston Wilson. The play was originally ruled an error and then was changed to a hit, which seems friendly to Wilson, who was making his first start in left field, since he got to the ball in the corner and had it hit off his glove without having to stretch too far for it. That would have made the line look much better. Bradish also started this game sitting 97.8 mph on his sinker and 96.2 mph on his four-seamer, but regressed significantly as the game went on. It seems like he is still finding his rhythm, but he can be trusted next week against the Royals.
  • WSH Shortstop #26
Nasim Nuñez is not in the starting lineup on Wednesday against the Pirates
Nuñez has seven steals in 15 games, which is great. He’s also slashing .192/.276/.212 in 58 plate appearances. His defense at second base has been good enough that he will continue to get a chance to start, but if he doesn’t start hitting soon, the Nationals may start shifting him to a pinch runner and defensive replacement. Jorbit Vivas will start at second base and bat seventh with Brady House at third base, Luis Garcia at DH, and Curtis Mead at first base.
  • DET Catcher #13
Dillon Dingler is not in the starting lineup on Wednesday against the Royals.
Dingler is off to a strong start, slashing .271/.364/.500 with three home runs and 12 RBI. He also has a 55 percent hard-hit rate with a 92 mph average exit velocity that is up two mph from what he posted last year. It’s a small sample size, but Dingler is firmly on the radar in one-catcher leagues. Jake Rogers will catch and bat ninth.
  • PHI 3rd Baseman #28
Alec Bohm is starting at third base and batting seventh against the Cubs on Wednesday.
Bohm has struggled to start the season, slashing .153/.227/.220 with one home run and 10 RBI in 66 plate appearances. What’s more, he is one of five qualified hitters who have not pulled a single ball in the air this season. He’s making plenty of contact, but he’s going to need to make a change to the type of contact he’s making if he’s going to be on fantasy radars.
  • WSH Right Fielder #3
Dylan Crews went 2-for-4 with a solo home run for Triple-A Rochester on Wednesday.
Crews took a rehabbing Trey Yesavage deep in the first inning for his second home run of the season. Crews is now hitting .263 with two home runs, nine RBI, 11 runs scored, and four steals in 15 Triple-A games. He should get another chance in Washington’s outfield this summer.
  • TOR Starting Pitcher #39
Trey Yesavage (shoulder) allowed three runs on seven hits in 4 1/3 innings for Triple-A Buffalo on Wednesday.
On one hand, Yesavage’s fastball velocity was down, sitting 93.3 mph on the day. He also got hit around a little bit and threw just 59 percent of his pitches for strikes. On the other hand, he threw 71 pitches and seemed to come out of the game healthy. Given all the injuries in this Blue Jays rotation, that’s the most important thing. We’d imagine Yesavage gets one more rehab start before possibly joining the Blue Jays rotation.
  • PIT Shortstop #85
Konnor Griffin is not in the starting lineup on Wednesday against the Nationals.
It’s understandable that the Pirates would want to give their top prospect some days off from the grind of an MLB season, especially when he’s hitting .189 through 11 games. However, Griffin went 2-for-4 with a double in a loss to the Nationals yesterday, so now feels like an odd time to bench him. In fact, Griffin has gone 2-for-4 twice since being recalled, and he has sat the next day both times. Curious. Nick Gonzales will play shortstop and bat sixth.
  • CIN Relief Pitcher #15
Emilio Pagán (hamstring) played catch fine on Wednesday and would not categorize his hamstring tightness as “an injury.”
Pagán felt his hamstring get a little tight last night on his final pitch, but it never felt like a major injury. He is in no pain but still saw a doctor and did some treatment this morning. He also played catch fine and feels that he “dodged a bullet.” The team will talk to decide if he’s available tonight, but it looks like Pagán will avoid the injured list. It still might not be a bad idea to stash Tony Santillan if you have a roster spot, just in case Pagán’s hamstring acts up again the next time he pitches.
