Robert Murray of FanSided reports that the Phillies have acquired Braeden Ogle from the Pirates.

Jason Mackey of the Pittsburgh Post-Gazette says that catcher Abrahan Gutierrez will be going to the Pirates. Ogle, 24, holds a 3.13 ERA and 42/23 K/BB ratio over 31 2/3 innings at Triple-A Indianapolis this season. He is not on the Pirates’ 40-man roster.

Mariners sent INF/OF Weston Wilson, LHP Josh Simpson, RHP Troy Watson, INF Will Wilson and INF Patrick Wisdom outright to Triple-A Tacoma.

Not really any tough calls here. Weston Wilson did play in 54 games for the Mariners after joining the team in mid-June, but he hit just .192/.263/.296 in 137 plate appearances.

Rays exercised SS Taylor Walls’ club option for 2027.

Walls avoided arbitration last year by accepting a one-year, $2.45 million contract with a $3.15 million option for 2027, and the Rays are picking the second year, since he’d probably make a little more than that in arbitration after his Gold Glove season. He’ll be eligible for free agency for the first time next winter.

Rays selected the contract of OF Jack Suwinski from Triple-A Durham.

Suwinski was sent from the Dodgers to the Pirates at the trade deadline, but he never played in the majors last season. The former Pirates slugger slumped to .231/.296/.300 in 37 games for Triple-A Durham after joining the Rays organization, but the team still seems to think he can contribute. He did hit .274/.362/.489 with 21 homers in 93 games for Oklahoma City before the deal. The 28-year-old is a lifetime .199/.305/.389 hitter with 57 homers in 1,361 plate appearances, all of which came with Pittsburgh.

Rays selected the contract of RHP Alexander Alberto from Triple-A Durham.

The Rays lost Alberto to the White Sox in the Rule 5 draft last year, but they got him back a couple of weeks into March, and he went on to post a 3.43 ERA and a 72/25 K/BB in 60 1/3 innings between Double- and Triple-A. He’ll be a long shot to claim a spot in the Rays pen to begin next year, but he’ll probably surface at some point.

Rays sent RHP Jonathan Heasley and INF Nick Madrigal outright to Triple-A Durham.

They’ll both become free agents. Heasley was called up by the Rays on May 27, gave up five runs over four innings in one appearance and then was DFA’d, only for that to be rescinded because of a stress reaction in his elbow. He spent the rest of the year on the injured list.

Phillies sent C Garrett Stubbs outright to Triple-A Lehigh Valley.

Stubbs passed through waivers unclaimed after losing his spot on Philadelphia’s 40-man roster. The 33-year-old backup catcher heads to free agency at the outset of the offseason.

Mets claimed RHP Jack Anderson off waivers from the Twins.

The Mets continue pilfering Minnesota’s system for additional pitching depth with Anderson becoming their latest import. The 26-year-old offers some versatility as a multi-inning reliever, posting a respectable 2.19 ERA across 12 1/3 innings between the Twins and Red Sox this past season.

Astros sent OF Jake Meyers outright to Triple-A Sugar Land.

Meyers elected free agency rather than accept the outright assignment. It became abundantly clear that his time with the organization was basically over when he was shipped to the minors following the emergence of Taylor Trammell in early July. He hit just .213 (30-for-131) with three homers in 57 games this past season.

Astros selected the contract of C César Salazar from Triple-A Sugar Land.

Salazar has proven to be a capable emergency stopgap option behind the plate for Houston over the last couple years. The 30-year-old backstop gets a spot on the club’s 40-man roster to prevent him from being poached by another organization heading into the lockout.

Astros selected the contract of RHP Roddery Muñoz from Triple-A Sugar Land.

Muñoz winds up with a spot on Houston’s 40-man roster heading into the offseason after being picked up from the Reds in the Rule 5 Draft last year. The 26-year-old reliever made just four appearances for the Astros before being shipped to Triple-A for the rest of the year in early April.
