Blake Cederling (elbow) threw a bullpen session earlier this week.
The 27-year-old has struggled with injuries since undergoing Tommy John surgery in 2021 and an arthroscopic procedure in 2022. He has played in a professional game since 2020 so it is a good thing to hear that he is healthy entering spring.

Mets selected the contract of INF/OF Vidal Bruján from Triple-A Syracuse.
With Ronny Mauricio heading to the injured list with a fractured thumb and Francisco Lindor (calf) already stationed on the injured list, the Mets’ depth at the shortstop position is running woefully thin. It’s unclear if Bruján will see the bulk of the action there or if Bo Bichette will slide over from third base in the interim while Brett Baty covers the hot corner.
Rutschman putting up 'star caliber' statistics
James Schiano breaks down Adley Rutschman's performance in his six games since returning for the Orioles from the IL, in which he has put up an impressive performance with four home runs and 14 RBIs.
  • NYM Shortstop #0
Mets placed INF Ronny Mauricio on the 10-day injured list with a left thumb fracture.
Mauricio sustained the injury while diving headfirst into first base during Saturday’s game against the Angels. No word yet on how long the Mets expect him to be sidelined for. Vidal Brujan was promoted from Triple-A Syracuse on Sunday to take his place on the team’s active roster.
  • SEA Catcher #29
Cal Raleigh remained out of the Mariners’ starting lineup for Sunday’s showdown against the Royals.
We still have yet to receive word on exactly what’s ailing Raleigh, other than “general soreness”, though he did undergo an MRI exam after being scratched from the lineup on Saturday. Jhonny Pereda will start in his place behind the dish and will bat eighth for the M’s against Kris Bubic and the Royals on Sunday afternoon in Seattle.
  • MIN Starting Pitcher #41
The Twins announced that Joe Ryan was removed from Sunday’s start against the Blue Jays in the first inning due to right elbow soreness.
That’s never what you want to hear. While the severity of the injury is not yet known, it’ll almost certainly mean a trip to the injured list for the Twins’ ace. Fantasy managers should be sure to have an alternative option available for next week.
  • SD Starting Pitcher #33
Padres placed RHP Germán Márquez on the 15-day injured list, retroactive to May 2, with right forearm nerve inflammation.
The expectation had been that Matt Waldron would get bumped from the Padres’ rotation to accommodate the return of Griffin Canning on Sunday, but with Márquez heading to the injured list, he’ll get to stick around a bit longer. No word yet on the severity of the injury or how long they expect the 31-year-old hurler to be shelved for.
  • SD Starting Pitcher #17
Padres activated RHP Griffin Canning from the 15-day injured list.
As expected, Canning will make his Padres’ debut on Sunday against the White Sox. He only threw 15 innings over five minor league rehab starts at Triple-A El Paso, so it’s possible that his workload could be limited initially upon his return. German Marquez (forearm) was placed on the 15-day injured list in a corresponding move on Sunday.
  • MIN Starting Pitcher #41
Joe Ryan was removed from Sunday’s start against the Blue Jays after throwing just nine pitches due to an apparent injury.
Ryan delivered a fastball to Kazuma Okamoto and immediately felt something and called for the training staff. After a brief discussion, he was pulled from the game. All Twins’ fans and fantasy managers can do now is wait and hope for the best. The Twins should have an update on his status soon. Stay tuned.
  • ATH Starting Pitcher #19
Athletics optioned RHP Luis Morales to Triple-A Las Vegas.
Morales has been knocked around in three appearances with the A’s this season, posting a miserable 14.46 ERA, 3.11 WHIP and a cringe-inducing 7/12 K/BB ratio over 9 1/3 innings. He’ll attempt to work through his command issues at the minor league level.
  • ATH Relief Pitcher #44
Athletics recalled RHP Tyler Ferguson from Triple-A Las Vegas.
The 32-year-old right-hander has been knocked around in his first 10 appearances at Triple-A Las Vegas to the tune of a 6.17 ERA, 1.37 WHIP and an 8/6 K/BB ratio over 11 2/3 innings. He’ll add a fresh arm to the middle of the A’s bullpen.
  • BAL Starting Pitcher #72
Orioles optioned LHP Nick Raquet to Triple-A Norfolk.
The O’s needed to free up a spot on their active roster for Trey Gipson’s promotion on Sunday and unfortunately for Raquet he was the odd man out this time around. The 30-year-old southpaw posted a 10.13 ERA, 1.88 WHIP and a 1/2 K/BB ratio across 2 2/3 innings in his three appearances with the O’s.
