Alek Manoah, who has been shut down since Aug. 10, probably won’t pitch again this season, Sportsnet’s Ben Nicholson-Smith reports.
Manoah is on the temporary inactive list at Triple-A Buffalo. He was last seen on the mound giving up four runs in four innings for the Blue Jays on Aug. 10. Toronto sent him down the next day, and he hasn’t pitched since, with leg issues apparently playing a role. The third-place finisher in the AL Cy Young balloting last year, Manoah is 3-9 with a 5.87 ERA in 19 starts for the Blue Jays this season.
