Eugenio Suárez went 2-for-3 with a solo homer and two RBI on Tuesday, propelling the Mariners to an 8-0 blowout win over the Angels.

Suárez opened the scoring in a lopsided affair with a first-inning RBI single off Angels starter Patrick Sandoval before adding his 20th round-tripper of the season off the left-hander a couple frames later. The 32-year-old veteran slugger has crossed the 20-homer threshold in each of his last seven seasons, excluding the pandemic-shortened 2020 campaign, dating back to 2016.

Ketel Marte is out of the lineup for Wednesday’s game against the Dodgers with lower back tightness.

Marte is also dealing with some hamstring soreness, according to Diamondbacks manager Torey Lovullo. He added that Marte wasn’t feeling comfortable during Tuesday’s contest and will get some time off to rest. Fantasy managers should consider him day-to-day heading into Thursday’s series finale. Ildemaro Vargas is at second base in his absence.

Angels selected the contract of RHP Shaun Anderson from Triple-A Salt Lake.

Anderson returns for yet another stint with the Angels after posting a serviceable 5.94 ERA, 1.50 WHIP and 12/8 K/BB ratio across 16 2/3 innings of work earlier this season. The 31-year-old journeyman will operate in low-leverage spots for Los Angeles.

Aldegheri heads back to the minors after tossing 5 1/3 shutout frames in relief against the Rockies on Tuesday night. The 24-year-old swingman has allowed just three runs over 11 innings across three appearances in the big leagues this season.

Angels transferred C Travis d’Arnaud to the 60-day injured list.

There’s no timetable for d’Arnaud to return after hitting the injured list with plantar fasciitis back on May 7. The 37-year-old backstop will be on the shelf until at least mid-July following the procedural move.

Andrew Benintendi

CWS Designated Hitter #23

Andrew Benitendi went 2-for-3 with a two-run homer and three walks Wednesday in the White Sox’s 8-0 shutout of the Twins.

There’s something about Benintendi and the Twins. He has 17 homers against the franchise, which is six more than he has against any other club. 13 of those have come in 44 games at Target Field. Today’s game saw him draw three walks for the first time since 2022 and reach base safely five times for the first time since 2023. Benintendi also homered Monday, and he raised his OPS from .660 to .711 over the course of the three-game series.

Erick Fedde

CWS Starting Pitcher #47

Erick Fedde shut out the Twins for five innings to finally pick up his first win of the year Wednesday.

Fedde needed this after posting a 9.00 ERA and a 12/12 K/BB over 20 innings in his five starts last month. Although he’s now 1-5 on the season, the White Sox have actually managed to go 6-6 in his outings, including three victories in extra innings. Fedde is due to face the Braves next week.

Taj Bradley

MIN Starting Pitcher #26

Taj Bradley lost to the White Sox after allowing four runs and walking five in 4 2/3 innings Wednesday.

Bradley gave up seven hits along with the five walks, so this could have been worse. Bradley was effective in his return from the IL against the Red Sox on May 23, but he’s given up nine runs in 8 2/3 innings since. He had a 1.63 ERA in his first five starts this season but a 5.18 ERA in six starts since. It seems like a good idea to stick with him in a two-start week against the Tigers and Cardinals next week, but if he struggles then, mixed leaguers probably ought to move on.

Sam Antonacci

CWS 2nd Baseman

Sam Antonacci went 4-for-4 with two doubles, a walk and two runs scored Wednesday against the Twins.

Antonacci’s first three-hit game as a major leaguer came last week against Minnesota. Now he has a four-hit game versus the same team. He’s batting .291/.383/.391 with one homer and eight steals through 45 games as a major leaguer.

Colson Montgomery

CWS Shortstop #12

Colson Montgomery finished 0-for-6 with four strikeouts against the Twins on Wednesday.

Montgomery joins Tampa Bay’s Taylor Walls as the only players this season to go 0-for-6 with four K’s in a game. His two balls in play were actually 106- and 101-mph lineouts, but he wasn’t rewarded for either. He ends the series against the Twins having gone 0-for-12 with seven strikeouts.

Jasson Domínguez

NYY Left Fielder #24

Jasson Domínguez (shoulder) will kick off a minor league rehab assignment on Friday.

Domínguez has been given the all clear to get back into game action after taking live batting practice on Thursday without any issues. The Yankees could certainly use him back in their injury-depleted outfield mix, especially if Aaron Judge (ribs) winds up requiring a trip to the injured list. The 23-year-old former top prospect will likely need a couple games to get back up to speed before he’s ready to return to New York.
