Kerry Carpenter went 2-for-5 and drove in a pair of runs on Friday night as the Tigers routed the Angels in Los Angeles.
Carpenter did his damage as part of a seven-run uprising in the eighth inning, smacking a two-run single that extended the Tigers’ lead to 11-1. He also reached on a two-out single in the opening inning and scored the game’s first run on an RBI double off the bat of Andre Lipcius. The 26-year-old outfielder continues to impress — slashing .291/.349/.503 with 20 homers, 62 RBI and five stolen bases across his first 398 plate appearances.

Andrew Kittredge (shoulder) will begin a rehab assignment with Triple-A Norfolk on Wednesday.
Kittredge has been battling shoulder inflammation for much of spring training. He will likely need a few outings before he joins Baltimore’s bullpen, where he will be part of the bridge to closer Ryan Helsley. The 36-year-old has 21 career saves in nine MLB seasons and is not a lock to be the fallback option at closer if Helsley were to get hurt, so he’s not worth holding onto in most fantasy formats.
Look to add Mariners SP Hancock off waiver wires
Eric Samulski reacts to Emerson Hancock's "impressive" season debut for the Seattle Mariners against the Cleveland Guardians and breaks down how he looks like a "different version" of himself in his first start.
  • TEX Center Fielder
Dairon Blanco cleared waivers and accepted his outright assignment to Triple-A Round Rock.
Blanco will enter the starting lineup in Triple-A and be an option for the Rangers if they suffer an injury in the outfield.
  • MIA 3rd Baseman #63
Marlins optioned 1B/3B Deyvison De Los Santos to Triple-A Jacksonville
De Los Santos was called up this weekend when Christopher Morel (oblique) went on the IL, and it was through that he might be in Miami to stay. That was not the case. The team claimed INF Leo Jimenez off waivers and will activate him while sending De Los Santos to the minors, where he can play every day. In the meantime, Connor Norby is expected to be the regular first baseman for the Marlins, with Javier Sanoja and Graham Pauley playing third base.
  • MIL Shortstop #90
Jett Williams went 1-for-3 with a walk, three runs scored, and a stolen base for Triple-A Nashville on Monday.
Williams has gone 3-for-11 to start the season with three strikeouts and three walks and has also stolen three bases without being caught. The Brewers are using David Hamilton and Luis Rengifo at third base right, which seems to be a signal that they’re holding the spot until Williams is ready. His speed is going to be a major asset when he finally takes over the job.
  • ATL Starting Pitcher #72
Didier Fuentes will be the starting pitcher for Triple-A Gwinnett on Friday.
This was part of the speculation when Fuentes was sent down earlier today, but now we have clarity. MLB.com’s Mark Bowman reports that “Once [Fuentes] gets his pitch count up to 90 over the next couple weeks, there will be a greater chance to see him be part of Atlanta’s rotation over an extended period.” It may be hard to hold Fuentes on your fantasy rosters since we don’t know for sure when he will be up, but it seems like he’s going to get a shot in the Braves’ rotation before April is done.
  • ATL Starting Pitcher #54
Braves selected LHP Martín Pérez to the major league roster.
Pérez had remained in minor league camp, but the Braves will add him to the roster, most likely, to start on Tuesday. It’s not a great matchup against the Athletics, but a decent outing could keep Pérez in the rotation for a bit longer.
  • ATL Starting Pitcher #72
Braves optioned RHP Didier Fuentes to Triple-A Gwinnett.
This is just about usage and the Braves needing a fresh bullpen arm. Fuentes threw four innings of relief yesterday so he won’t be available to pitch for a few days. He has minor league options remaining so he will continue to build his pitch count with Gwinnett and likely return to the Braves as a starter in the coming weeks.
  • LAD Outfield
James Tibbs III homered twice, doubled and walked for Triple-A Oklahoma City on Sunday.
Tibbs impressed this spring and is off to an 8-for-13 starts with six extra-base hits in three games for Oklahoma City. The Dodgers might not ever need the twice-traded 2024 first-round pick (first from the Giants to the Red Sox in the Rafael Devers deal and later to the Dodgers in the Dustin May trade), but he could be a big part of another deadline deal this summer.
  • CLE Right Fielder #22
Nolan Jones had a two-run single in the eighth and a three-run homer in the ninth to lead Triple-A Columbus to a win on Sunday.
Both the single and homer left the bat at 106 mph, with the homer traveling 401 feet. Jones cleared waivers at the end of the spring after failing to make the Guardians, but this probably isn’t the end for him. The Guardians are going to be searching for offense all year, and while Jones is no certainty to provide it, he has more upside than a good two-thirds of the players on their roster.
  • MIA Starting Pitcher #20
Braxton Garrett pitched 4 2/3 innings of one-run ball for Triple-A Jacksonville on Sunday.
Garrett was quite surprisingly sent down despite showing the best velocity of his career in averaging 92.6 mph with his fastball in two starts this spring. He wasn’t quite at that level tonight, coming in at 91.8 mph, but that’s still 1.0 mph better than his average as a major leaguer. Even as is, he’s almost certainly one of the Marlins’ five best starters, and it shouldn’t be too long before he gets a chance to show it.
