Enmanuel Valdez went 3-for-4 with a three-run homer in a loss to the Rays on Tuesday.
The Red Sox were held scoreless through four innings but after back-to-back to start off the fifth, Valdez connected with a 411-foot three-run shot, his sixth home run of the season. Since returning from the injured list, he has started every game at second base, as the team determines if he is fit for next season’s roster. On the season, the 24-year-old is hitting a respectable .273/.316/.477 across his first 137 plate appearances in the majors.
