Pitching for the first time in 13 days, Trevor Williams allowed two runs and seven hits in 3 1/3 innings Friday against the Braves.
The Nationals pulled Williams from the rotation after he allowed 17 earned runs in 10 1/3 innings in his first three starts this month, but they gave him one last shot here. He ends up 6-10 with a 5.55 ERA and 34 homers allowed in 144 1/3 innings. Since he was inked to a two-year, $12 million contract last winter, he’ll be back as a fifth starter or swingman next season.
