  • STL Starting Pitcher #35
Cardinals signed RHP Lance Lynn to a one-year, $10 million contract with a $12 million club option for 2025.
The deal is now official after Lynn passed his physical. The soon-to-be 37-year-old right-hander, who can earn up to $13 million through incentives and a $1 million buyout for 2025, rejoins the organization that he spent the first six seasons of his career with after splitting the 2023 campaign between the White Sox and Dodgers. Busch Stadium won’t make a tremendous difference from a park factors standpoint, but it should help after Lynn served up a league-high 44 round-trippers last year across 32 starts. He’s unlikely to make an impact for fantasy managers outside of deeper NL-only formats, but it wouldn’t be surprising to see him emerge as a decent streaming option in favorable matchups.
  • TEX Right Fielder #53
Adolis García went 2-for-4 with a two-run homer to lift the Rangers to a 4-0 win over the Guardians.
García knocked a base hit in the fourth inning, then took Nick Sandlin deep for a two-run homer in the sixth to extend the Rangers lead. The 31-year-old slugger has multiple hits in back-to-back games amid a cold stretch. He hadn’t had two hits in a game since April 21. García is up to ten homers while slashing .259/.306/.494 with 34 RBI and four steals across 183 plate appearances.
  • TEX Second Baseman #2
Marcus Semien went 1-for-4 with a two-run homer on Wednesday against the Guardians.
With the game scoreless through four innings, Semien put the Rangers on the board with a two-run blast off Carlos Carrasco in the fifth. It was the eighth home run of the season for the 33-year-old second baseman. Semien is hitting .276/.320/.464 with 33 runs scored, 31 RBI, and one steal across 206 plate appearances. Lack of steals aside, he continues to be one of the top producers at the keystone.
  • TEX Starting Pitcher #22
Jon Gray tossed 6 1/3 shutout innings with three strikeouts in a win over the Guardians on Wednesday.
Gray’s outstanding run continued on Wednesday with another stellar outing. He held the Guardians scoreless over 6 1/3 frames, stranding four hits and two walks while striking out three batters. After giving up five runs in his first start, Gray has not allowed more than two runs in each of his last eight outings. The 32-year-old right-hander ends the day with a 2.08 ERA, 1.17 WHIP, and a 52/14 K/BB ratio across 52 innings. Gray will take on the Phillies on the road next Wednesday.
  • CLE Starting Pitcher #59
Carlos Carrasco allowed two runs with three strikeouts over five innings in a loss against the Rangers on Wednesday.
Carrasco had work through four scoreless frames, escaping a bases-loaded jam in the fourth with a double-play ground ball. Marcus Semien would get to him in the fifth, going deep for a two-run homer. Carrasco would end his day after five frames, striking out three. The 37-year-old right-hander will take a 5.16 ERA, 1.46 WHIP, and a 34/18 K/BB ratio across 45 1/3 innings into a matchup against the Mets in Cleveland on Tuesday.
  • TB Starting Pitcher #45
Taj Bradley battled Tanner Houck to earn the win in Fenway Park on Wednesday. He struck out six while allowing two earned runs, four hits, and one walk in a 4-3 victory.
Bradley had an uneasy start to the game before settling in and defeating the Red Sox. His fastball command was spotty in this one leaving far too many up and out of the zone, but he leaned on his splitter against a lefty-heavy Red Sox lineup. This was an encouraging second start of the season for Bradley who tentatively lines up for a two-start week against the Red Sox and Royals.
  • TB Relief Pitcher #49
Kevin Kelly worked a clean ninth inning for Tampa Bay on Wednesday against the Red Sox allowing zero base runners while striking out two.
Pete Fairbanks pitched Tuesday and hasn’t been used on back-to-back days since coming off the IL while Jason Adam had worked four out of five days opening the door for Kelly to close this one out. The side-armer is unlikely to earn many more save opportunities with Fairbanks and Adam healthy.
  • HOU Shortstop #3
Jeremy Peña went 2-for-4 with a run scored in a 3-0 win over the Athletics on Wednesday.
Peña led off the fourth inning with a base hit and scored on a sacrifice fly by Mauricio Dubón. He later started the sixth inning with a single, but was stranded on the bases. The multi-hit day brings Peña slash line to an impressive .333/.375/.455 with four homers, 26 runs scored, 16 RBI, and six steals across 176 plate appearances.
  • BOS Starting Pitcher #89
Tanner Houck couldn’t get through the sixth inning against the Rays, but still managed to strike out seven and allow just two earned runs in a loss Wednesday. He also gave up five hits and three walks.
Houck was humming along until back-to-back singles in the sixth inning sent Alex Cora to the bullpen with Houck at 112 pitches, the highest total of his career. Greg Weissert then allowed both inherited runners to score, spoiling Houck’s chance for a victory. Still solid, he’s looked more mortal in his last three starts with a 3.86 ERA and 20.0 K%.
  • HOU Relief Pitcher #61
Seth Martinez struck out one batter over two scoreless innings for the save against the Athletics on Wednesday.
Josh Hader got the night off after tossing 30 pitches on Tuesday. Martinez was called on to work the eighth inning with a three-run lead over the A’s and remained in the game to close it out in the ninth. He worked around two walks, striking out one batter for his first save.
  • HOU Starting Pitcher #59
Framber Valdez tossed seven scoreless innings with eight strikeouts in a win over the Athletics on Wednesday.
Valdez was outstanding against the A’s, holding them scoreless over seven innings. He scattered two hits and two walks, striking out eight batters on 13 whiffs. The 30-year-old left-hander ends the day with a 2.97 ERA, 1.21 WHIP, and a 31/11 K/BB ratio across 36 1/3 innings. He’ll take on Angels in Houston on Monday.
