Royals acquired RHP Ryan Brady and INF Cam Devanney from the Brewers for RHP Taylor Clarke.
Brady went undrafted out of BYU back in 2022 and went on to post an interesting 2.69 ERA, 1.13 WHIP and 72/19 K/BB ratio across 77 innings (37 appearances) this past season between High-A Wisconsin and Double-A Biloxi. The 24-year-old righty represent a lottery ticket for the Royals as a relief project.

Dylan Crews went 0-for-3 as the Nationals eked out a 3-2 victory over the Astros in Grapefruit League action on Thursday evening.
This hasn’t been the type of spring performance that the Nationals or fantasy managers were hoping to see from the 24-year-old outfielder. Crews is hitting a meager .105 (2-for-19) with one RBI, one stolen base and a 6/3 K/BB ratio in his first 22 plate appearances. He also missed a bit of action due to soreness in his left thumb. He still has time to get right before Opening Day, but the clock is ticking.
Ohtani, Judge shining in WBC amid peak of careers
Dan Le Batard reflects on the days of United States-Japan exhibition games before debating Shohei Ohtani vs. Aaron Judge and the World Baseball Classic's place among international competitions.
  • WSH Starting Pitcher #27
Jake Irvin struggled during Thursday’s Grapefruit League outing against the Astros, surrendering two runs on five hits over his 3 1/3 innings.
On the plus side, the 29-year-old hurler punched out four batters in the contest and didn’t issue a walk. He gave up back-to-back two-out doubles in the first inning to allow a run to score and then served up a solo homer to Carlos Correa in the third. Irvin got seven whiffs on 51 pitches on the evening, posting a strong CSW of 33 percent. For the spring, he now boasts a 2.16 ERA, 1.20 WHIP and a 10/3 K/BB ratio over 8 1/3 innings.
  • HOU Shortstop #1
Carlos Correa went 2-for-3 and swatted his first home run of the spring as the Astros were defeated by the Nationals in Grapefruit League action on Thursday.
Correa tagged Jake Irvin for a solo shot in the third inning, ambushing a first-pitch slider for a 392-foot (105.3 mph EV) solo shot that increased the Astros’ advantage to 2-0. Correa started at shortstop once again in this one and that’s where he’ll play primarily to start the season while Jeremy Peña (finger) is sidelined.
  • HOU Left Fielder #44
Yordan Alvarez went 3-for-3 with a double and a run scored as the Astros fell to the Nationals in Grapefruit League action on Thursday night.
The 28-year-old slugger smacked a two-out double off of Jake Irvin in the opening inning and then scored the game’s first run on an RBI double off the bat of Yainer Diaz. He then added a pair of singles before calling it a day. Through six games on the spring, Alvarez is hitting .250 (4-for-16) but has yet to drive in a run.
  • HOU Starting Pitcher #50
Mike Burrows delivered another strong Grapefruit League start on Thursday, scattering three hits over four scoreless innings against the Nationals.
The 26-year-old right-hander punched out five batters on the evening while issuing a pair of walks. He’s now up to 12 2/3 innings of scoreless baseball this spring while registering a 0.95 WHIP and a 15/6 K/BB ratio. He’s also creeping up fantasy draft boards, so if you were planning on trying to sneak him through in the later rounds of your upcoming drafts, you may want to bump him up a round or two.
  • LAD Starting Pitcher #7
Blake Snell (shoulder) threw his first bullpen session of the spring on Thursday.
The good news is that the 33-year-old southpaw experienced no issues with the session and will continue his throwing progression from there. He’s going to begin the season on the injured list though, with a goal of returning before the end of April. Fantasy managers who want to gamble on him on draft day should plan to be without the left-hander for the first five or six weeks of the season at a minimum.
  • SF Starting Pitcher #89
Giants reassigned RHPs Will Bednar and Trent Harris, C Diego Cartaya and OF Bo Davidson to minor league camp.
It’s the first round of cuts that the Giants have made this spring, so there aren’t any surprises in the group. Bednar, 25, appeared in four Cactus League contests, registering a 2.25 ERA, 1.50 WHIP and a 3/4 K/BB ratio over four innings. He could break through and debut with the Giants at some point during the 2026 campaign.
  • CHC Starting Pitcher #30
Edward Cabrera pitched 3 2/3 innings of one-run ball in the Cubs’ 7-4 defeat of the Mariners on Thursday.
Cabrera gave up nine hard-hit balls today, but only two of those went for hits. He also gave up a couple of soft singles. He’s allowed one run and posted an 8/1 K/BB in 8 1/3 innings over his three outings. One imagines the Dominican Republic would have loved to have him available this weekend.
  • SEA Starting Pitcher #26
Emerson Hancock struck out five while allowing two runs in four innings Thursday against the Cubs.
It’s good to see Hancock again missing bats, but his early spring velocity bump is mostly gone now; he averaged 95.1 mph with his fastball today, barely up from the 94.9 mph he came in at last year. Hancock is the likely choice to step into Seattle’s rotation with Bryce Miller likely to open up on the IL. That’s make him a possibility at the end of AL-only drafts.
  • CHC Left Fielder #20
Chas McCormick hit his first spring homer Thursday against the Mariners.
McCormick seems to have fallen behind Dylan Carlson in the battle for a spot on the Cubs bench, so this will help. Carlson went 0-for-3 batting one spot ahead of him today. The winner of the competition will likely see occasional starts against lefties.
