Reds signed LHP Brent Suter to a one-year, $2.5 million contract with a $3.5 million club option for 2025.
The deal, which was also includes a $500,000 buyout and an additional $200,000 in performance-related incentives, is now official. Suter joins Cincinnati’s high-leverage mix as an experienced late-inning bridge to hard-throwing stopper Alexis Díaz after finishing last year with a solid 3.38 ERA, 1.30 WHIP and 55/25 K/BB ratio across 69 1/3 innings (57 appearances) for the Rockies. The 34-year-old southpaw generated interest from teams this offseason as a potential starter, but will wind up pitching in relief for the upstart Reds.
