Mariners placed RHP Jackson Kowar on the 60-day injured list with a right ulnar collateral ligament tear.
Kowar met with doctors on Friday after experiencing right arm soreness last week and that is when the injury was discovered. The Mariners haven’t announced what his next steps will be, but he will likely be out for the remainder of the 2024 season. The Mariners bullpen has been devastated by injury this spring and Kowar joins a list that includes Matt Brash (elbow) and Gregory Santos (lat).

Braxton Ashcraft allowed six runs in 4 1/3 innings and took the loss against the Cardinals on Tuesday.
Ashcraft allowed six hits, walked three and struck out seven. He fell to 1-2 with the loss. The 26-year-old right-hander now has a 3.71 ERA and 3.42 xFIP on the year. In 34 innings this season, he’s struck out 39, walked 12 and allowed three home runs. Ashcraft’s clunky start Tuesday included two of those home runs, but he’s still worth consideration for fantasy managers in standard mixed leagues. He’s lined up to face the Reds at home on Sunday.
What happens with Castillo once Miller returns?
Eric Samulski unpacks Seattle Mariners' starting pitcher, Luis Castillo, and his early season struggles. He discuss what could happen with Castillo when Bryce Miller returns from an injury.
  • CIN Shortstop #44
Elly De La Cruz finished 3-for-4 with a homer, four RBI and two steals in the Reds’ 7-2 defeat of the Rockies on Tuesday.
De La Cruz really filled up the box score in this one, finishing with a homer and multiple steals for the third time in his career. The other occasions were both in 2024. As of the moment, he’s tied for fourth in MLB with 10 homers, ninth with eight steals, tied for fourth with 26 runs scored and tied for ninth with 24 RBI.
  • CIN Starting Pitcher #26
Chase Burns pitched six innings of two-run ball and struck out nine in a win over the Rockies on Tuesday.
Burns generated 22 whiffs on 55 swings while topping out at 100.5 mph tonight. He’s allowed two runs or fewer in five of his six starts this season and is now 3-1 with a 2.65 ERA overall even though the Reds have struggled to support him. He’s due to face the Pirates on Sunday.
  • COL Starting Pitcher #21
Kyle Freeland surrendered four runs in five innings to take a loss Tuesday against the Reds.
Freeland’s velocity was down about one mph tonight in his return from a two-start absence due to shoulder inflammation, and he fell to 1-2 with a 3.48 ERA. He’ll make his next start at home against the Braves.
  • CIN Center Fielder #17
Dane Myers went 2-for-3 with a walk and three runs scored from the leadoff spot Tuesday against the Rockies.
Myers’ injury history might make him ill-equipped to be an everyday center fielder for Cincinnati, but he deserves more time at TJ Friedl’s expense. He’s currently sporting a .797 OPS, compared to .528 for Friedl, and he’s the better defender of the two. Nevertheless, he’s started just one game against a right-hander this year, that coming on Apr. 9.
  • COL 2nd Baseman #6
Edouard Julien went 3-for-4 with a homer, two RBI and a walk Tuesday against the Reds.
Julien has 13 hits in his last seven games, a stretch that has raised his OPS from .639 to .842. That’s still no mixed-league value here, as Julien is a platoon guy with limited power and steal ability (though he has for some reason tried four this year, succeeding twice). He does seem to be the Rockies’ best option as a leadoff man against righties, though.
  • COL Shortstop #14
Ezequiel Tovar finished 0-for-4 as the Rockies’ No. 8 hitter Tuesday against the Reds.
They can only drop him one spot further. Tovar opened the season batting cleanup for Colorado and also hit second and third on occasion, but he hit seventh for the first time on Friday and eighth for the first time Sunday. The 24-year-old is still chasing every pitch he sees and batting .193/.228/.294 through 114 plate appearances. There’s no giving up on him for the long haul, but the Rockies could consider sending him down for a spell to try to motivate him to show even a modicum of discipline at the plate.
  • STL Starting Pitcher #62
Kyle Leahy allowed three runs in 5 1/3 innings and got the win in the Cardinals’ 11-7 victory over the Pirates on Tuesday.
Leahy gave up nine hits, walked none and struck out seven. He improved to 3-3 on the season with the win. The 28-year-old right-hander only threw 82 pitches, but was removed in the sixth inning after he allowed two home runs. Leahy tried not walking anyone and allowed nine hits for the first time in 2026. He isn’t a recommended fantasy option at this point. Leahy’s lined up to face the Brewers at home next week.
  • SF Left Fielder #17
Heliot Ramos went 1-for-3 with a double in Tuesday’s loss to the Phillies.
Ramos had one of only two Giants hits when he doubled off Phillies starter Jesús Luzardo in the third inning. The 26-year-old outfield got off to a slow start this season, but now has 12 hits, three home runs, six runs and seven RBI over his last 10 games.
  • PHI Right Fielder #53
Adolis García went 1-for-3 with a walk, a run, a double and two RBI in Tuesday’s win over the Giants.
The Phillies had Giants starter Tyler Mahle on the ropes in the sixth inning. García came up with men on second and third and no outs and hit a double to give the Phillies a 4-0 lead and chase Mahle from the ballgame. The 33-year-old outfielder is hitting .233 with three home runs, one steal, eight runs and nine RBI in 29 games this year. García’s .155 ISO would be the lowest of his career.
