Red Sox released LHP Lucas Luetge.
The Red Sox didn’t add Luetge to their 40-man roster after he triggered the opt-out in his contract earlier this week, so he’s headed to free agency. The 37-year-old lefty, who signed a minor league pact with Boston back in February, has made 230 appearances in the big leagues since 2012. He’s recorded six saves to go along with a solid 3.02 ERA, 1.18 WHIP and 47/13 K?BB ratio across 41 2/3 innings (31 appearances) this season for Triple-A Worcester. There should be another team out there willing to bring him in on another minor league deal.

Jacob Wilson (shoulder) could begin a minor league rehab assignment later this week.
Wilson’s return would provide a significant lift for the Athletics, who have been rolling with Darell Hernaiz at shortstop since he hit the injured list with a shoulder subluxation back on May 11. The 24-year-old has been ramping up baseball activities recently and should progress to minor league game action later this week. There’s a chance he’s back with the Athletics by mid-June.
Reynolds putting together a solid season
Bryan Reynolds has been heating up as of late, with the two-time All-Star proving he still has plenty left in the tank for the Pittsburgh Pirates.
  • PHI Catcher #10
J.T. Realmuto (wrist) remains out of the lineup for Tuesday’s series opener against the Padres.
Realmuto receives some additional time off to rest and recover after leaving Sunday’s series finale against the Dodgers with a left wrist contusion. The 35-year-old backstop is day-to-day for the moment. It’ll be Garrett Stubbs behind the plate for the Phillies on Tuesday night at Citizens Bank Park.
  • DET 2nd Baseman #25
Tigers activated 2B Gleyber Torres from the 10-day injured list.
Torres returns to Detroit’s lineup after missing just over one month recovering from a left oblique strain. The 29-year-old veteran is back at second base and hitting leadoff on Tuesday night against the Rays. He was batting .259/.389/.328 with two homers and 11 RBI in 29 games prior to hitting the injured list back in early May.
  • DET 2nd Baseman #50
Tigers optioned 2B Hao-Yu Lee to Triple-A Toledo.
Lee returns to the minors with Gleyber Torres back from the injured list. The 23-year-old rookie hit .205 (17-for-83) with two homers and nine RBI in 32 games for Detroit during his first stint in the majors.
  • DET Shortstop #7
Kevin McGonigle is out of the lineup for Tuesday’s showdown against the Rays.
McGonigle receives his first day off since May 4. The 21-year-old hitting machine has dealt with the usual ebbs and flows that accompany life in the majors as a rookie, but he’s been a fantasy force, hitting 285/.390/.407 with 38 runs scored, three homers, 21 RBI and nine steals across 59 games. Gleyber Torres is at second base in his return from the injured list with Zack Short handling shortstop and Zach McKinstry at the hot corner.
  • CLE Center Fielder #38
Guardians activated OF Steven Kwan from the bereavement list.
Kwan returns to Cleveland’s lineup, patrolling left field and hitting seventh on Tuesday night against the Yankees, after being away from the club for a couple games on bereavement leave. The 28-year-old has struggled to an underwhelming .207/.329/.259 triple-slash line with 25 runs scored, one homer, 12 RBI and two steals in 234 plate appearances over 54 games.
  • CLE Center Fielder #0
Guardians optioned OF Petey Halpin to Triple-A Columbus.
Halpin returns to the minors after a one-month stint with the Guardians. The 24-year-old has hit .167 (5-for-30) with one RBI and two steals in 18 games this season.
  • NYY Right Fielder #99
Aaron Judge is day-to-day with right shoulder soreness.
Yankees manager Aaron Boone told reporters Judge, who is out of the lineup for Tuesday’s series opener against the Guardians, will meet with team doctors to determine his next steps after imaging revealed a bone bruise in his shoulder. He also revealed that Judge has been dealing with the issue for some time, but it worsened over the weekend. The hope is that some additional rest will resolve the lingering issue. A trip to the injured list does not appear imminent, but this remains a developing situation. Further clarity on Judge’s status should emerge as the week progresses.
  • BOS 1st Baseman #40
Willson Contreras (wrist) is in the lineup for Tuesday’s series opener against the Orioles.
Contreras is back at first base and hitting cleanup after sitting out Sunday’s series finale against the Guardians to rest a lingering wrist issue. It doesn’t appear to be a significant concern moving forward. He’s ready to roll for Tuesday’s contest at Fenway Park against Baltimore.
  • CIN Center Fielder #17
Dane Myers (illness) is in the lineup for Tuesday’s game against the Royals.
Myers returns following a three-game absence due to illness. The 30-year-old is in center field and hitting leadoff against Kansas City lefty Noah Cameron. It’s his first game action since last Friday.
