Langford’s home run was his second. He hit a solo shot off Joey Cantillo in the fourth inning. Langford returned from the injured list on Friday after spending six weeks on the injured list with a forearm strain. He’ll occupy the leadoff spot for the Rangers for the foreseeable future.

Joey Cantillo allowed seven runs in five innings and took the loss against the Rangers on Sunday.

Cantillo gave up nine hits, walked two and struck out seven. He fell to 4-3 with the loss. Cantillo entered the game with a 3.92 ERA and a 4.64 xFIP. After allowing seven earned runs, his ERA is 4.57. It’s a tough break for fantasy managers that 11 of the 34 runs Cantillo has allowed this year came in his last two starts, but given his xFIP this is just water finding its level. He’s off the fantasy radar for his next start against the Tigers at home next weekend.

Jacob deGrom

TEX Starting Pitcher #48

Jacob deGrom tossed six scoreless innings and got the win in the Rangers’ 10-0 victory over the Guardians on Sunday.

deGrom gave up three hits, walked two and struck out six. He improved to 5-4 with the win. deGrom cruised through the first two innings, retiring the first six batters of the game in order. Ultimately he made in through six innings without allowing a run. His ERA is 3.18. deGrom is lined up to face the Red Sox on the road next weekend.

Tyler Stephenson

CIN Catcher #37

Tyler Stephenson went 3-for-4 with a solo home run against the Cardinals on Sunday.

Stephenson’s home run was his fifth. He hit a solo shot off Michael McGreevy in the third inning. Stephenson also had three hits, raising his average to just .203. Stephenson had one hit in his last 16 at-bats entering play Sunday. Maybe this could be the start of him turning it around at the plate, but he’s not worth rostering in most formats at this point.

Matt McLain

CIN 2nd Baseman #9

Matt McLain went 2-for-4 with two solo home runs against the Cardinals on Sunday.

The pair of home runs give McLain eight on the season. The 26-year-old second baseman has three home runs over his last two games. While this could be the beginning of a power streak for McLain, who also has seven stolen bases, his overall deficiencies at the plate (.206 BA) make him difficult to roster for fantasy managers.

Bobby Witt Jr.

Bobby Witt Jr. said his knee soreness got worse as Sunday’s game continued, forcing his exit in the seventh, and that he’ll be evaluated on Monday’s off day.

It sounds like a day-to-day situation for Witt, so he probably ought to be left active by those who have to make weekly decisions tonight. If he can’t go on Tuesday, then Maikel Garcia will likely play short, opening up third for Josh Rojas or Nick Loftin.

Cody Bellinger

NYY Left Fielder #35

Cody Bellinger went 2-for-4 with a solo home run as the Yankees defeated the Red Sox 6-1 on Sunday afternoon.

Bellinger’s homer was a go-ahead solo shot in the eighth off Justin Slaten. He re-signed with the Yankees on a five-year, $162.5 million deal this past offseason, and he’s posting his best quality of contact since 2020. Bellinger has done it more with on-base abilities than power output, but his 138 wRC+ is tied with his rookie year for the second-best mark of his career.

Cam Schlittler

NYY Starting Pitcher #31

Cam Schlittler pitched 5 2/3 innings in Sunday’s 6-1 win over the Red Sox, allowing one run on four hits and one walk while striking out five.

It wasn’t Schlittler’s most dominant outing of the season, but he did more than enough to keep the Yankees in the game until they broke it open in the eighth. His K-BB% has ticked down since the end of April, though it’s nothing to be concerned about while his ERA remains under 2. He’s one of the top starters in fantasy baseball ahead of his next matchup on the road against the Blue Jays.

Ranger Suarez

BOS Starting Pitcher #55

Ranger Suarez received a no-decision on Sunday in the Bronx, allowing one earned run on six hits over six innings pitched.

Suarez struck out six without issuing a walk. The lefty’s results through 12 starts with the Red Sox are right in line with the pitcher he looked like with the Phillies. His ground-ball rate is down a bit from years past, but a slightly higher K% is helping offset that. Suarez will continue leaning on his three-fastball approach next time out against the Rangers.

Jazz Chisholm Jr.

NYY 2nd Baseman #13

Jazz Chisholm Jr. went 1-for-4 with a homer, three RBI, and three strikeouts as the Yankees defeated the Red Sox 6-1 on Sunday.

It was an all-or-nothing game for Chisholm, who blew it open in the eighth with a three-run homer while swinging Aaron Judge’s bat. He’s now at eight round-trippers this season to go along with 16 stolen bases. Chisholm hasn’t had the walk year he was hoping for with free agency right around the corner, but he’s continued to provide power and speed juice for roto managers.
