Blue Jays sent C Brian Serven outright to Triple-A Buffalo.
Serven was designated for assignment earlier this week. He has the option to refuse the assignment, but either way he’ll become a free agent at the end of the season. Serven is a weak hitter even for a backup catcher. He hit .159 with no home runs and three RBI in 63 at-bats with Toronto this year.

Cody Bellinger went 2-for-4 with a solo home run as the Yankees defeated the Red Sox 6-1 on Sunday afternoon.
Bellinger’s homer was a go-ahead solo shot in the eighth off Justin Slaten. He re-signed with the Yankees on a five-year, $162.5 million deal this past offseason, and he’s posting his best quality of contact since 2020. Bellinger has done it more with on-base abilities than power output, but his 138 wRC+ is tied with his rookie year for the second-best mark of his career.
Moreno's two-run homerun extends Diamondbacks lead
Gabriel Moreno got hold of a hanging changeup to send a line drive over the left field wall for a two-run shot, extending the Diamondbacks' lead in the fifth inning.
  • NYY Starting Pitcher #31
Cam Schlittler pitched 5 2/3 innings in Sunday’s 6-1 win over the Red Sox, allowing one run on four hits and one walk while striking out five.
It wasn’t Schlittler’s most dominant outing of the season, but he did more than enough to keep the Yankees in the game until they broke it open in the eighth. His K-BB% has ticked down since the end of April, though it’s nothing to be concerned about while his ERA remains under 2. He’s one of the top starters in fantasy baseball ahead of his next matchup on the road against the Blue Jays.
  • BOS Starting Pitcher #55
Ranger Suarez received a no-decision on Sunday in the Bronx, allowing one earned run on six hits over six innings pitched.
Suarez struck out six without issuing a walk. The lefty’s results through 12 starts with the Red Sox are right in line with the pitcher he looked like with the Phillies. His ground-ball rate is down a bit from years past, but a slightly higher K% is helping offset that. Suarez will continue leaning on his three-fastball approach next time out against the Rangers.
  • NYY 2nd Baseman #13
Jazz Chisholm Jr. went 1-for-4 with a homer, three RBI, and three strikeouts as the Yankees defeated the Red Sox 6-1 on Sunday.
It was an all-or-nothing game for Chisholm, who blew it open in the eighth with a three-run homer while swinging Aaron Judge’s bat. He’s now at eight round-trippers this season to go along with 16 stolen bases. Chisholm hasn’t had the walk year he was hoping for with free agency right around the corner, but he’s continued to provide power and speed juice for roto managers.
  • NYY Center Fielder #12
Trent Grisham went 3-for-4 with a double, a steal, an RBI, and a run scored as the Yankees beat the Red Sox 6-1 on Sunday.
The stolen base was his fifth of the season. Grisham notably started against southpaw Ranger Suarez, the third straight left-hander New York has faced with him in the lineup. The extra playing time is nice, as evidenced by stat lines like Sunday’s. Grisham has also held onto his leadoff role against righties, which remains a valuable lineup spot even without Aaron Judge batting directly behind him.
  • STL Relief Pitcher #61
Riley O’Brien tossed a scoreless ninth inning and picked up the save against the Reds on Sunday.
O’Brien’s save was his 17th. He pitched around a one-out double to slam the door on the Reds, sealing a 5-3 victory for the Cardinals. O’Brien’s ERA is 3.68 and he’s blown four saves already. Still, in the current closer landscape, he’s been one of the more consistent ninth inning guys.
  • CIN Starting Pitcher #25
Rhett Lowder tossed three scoreless innings and got a no-decision against the Cardinals on Sunday.
Lowder gave up one hit, walked five and struck out four. He threw 70 pitches in what was his first start since he went on the injured list for shoulder pain in early May. It was a bit of a mixed bag considering he walked five batters and was only able to complete three innings. He has a 5.01 ERA. Lowder is lined up to face the Diamondbacks at home next weekend.
  • STL Starting Pitcher #36
Michael McGreevy allowed two runs in six innings and got a no-decision in the Cardinals’ 5-3 victory over the Reds on Sunday.
McGreevy gave up five hits, walked none and struck out five. The 25-year-old allowed solo home runs to Matt McClain and Tyler Stephenson in the third inning, but otherwise wasn’t scored on. He has a 2.99 ERA as his excellent season continues. McGreevy will face the Twins on the road next weekend.
  • MIN Designated Hitter #56
Josh Bell went 1-for-4 with a three-run home run against the Royals on Sunday.
Bell’s home run was his sixth of the year. He hit a three-run home run as part of a furious Twins comeback attempt in the ninth inning. Bell’s hitting .224 with a .636 OPS, so he’ll have to pick up the pace if he wants to get traded to a contending team before the end of the year.
  • KC Right Fielder #0
Starling Marte went 1-for-4 with a three-run home run against the Twins on Sunday.
Marte’s home run was his first of the season. The 37-year-old outfielder hit a three-run shot off Andrew Morris in the fifth inning. It turned out to be a huge hit for the Royals in a game they’d win 6-5. Marte is a part-time player at this point in his career with most of his playing time coming against left-handed pitching.
