Nationals optioned OF Robert Hassell III to Triple-A Rochester.
The eighth overall pick from the 2020 MLB Draft, Hassell III was a bit of an afterthought headed into spring after a rough 2024 season. However, the 23-year-old impressed by hitting .370/.408/.543 with one home run and two steals in 49 plate appearances this spring. He will need to carry that over into the regular season, but if he does, he could make his MLB debut sometime over the summer.

  • MIA 3rd Baseman #21
Marlins optioned 3B Graham Pauley to Triple-A Jacksonville.
With Leo Jiménez (head) returning from the injured list on Friday, Pauley will return to an everyday role at the Triple-A level until his services are needed once more. The 25-year-old has hit just .165/.211/.271 with one homer and nine RBI in 91 plate appearances with the Marlins this season.

The 26-year-old right-hander has made two appearances with the Royals so far this season, posting a 9.00 ERA, 2.00 WHIP and a 5/4 K/BB ratio over three innings of work. He’s taking the spot of Nick Mears who landed on the injured list with a right shoulder impingement on Friday. Expect Cerantola to work in a middle relief role for manager Matt Quatraro.

Phillies recalled RHP Nolan Hoffman from Triple-A Lehigh Valley.
With Aaron Nola heading to the paternity list, Hoffman will get another opportunity to pitch out of the big league bullpen for at least a couple of days. He holds a 2.70 ERA, 1.80 WHIP and a 2/1 K/BB ratio over 3 1/3 innings in two appearances with the Phillies this season.

Mets’ manager Carlos Mendoza told reporters on Friday that David Peterson has been moved to the team’s bullpen.
Sean Manaea will be given the opportunity to work as a bulk reliever, likely behind an opener, in Peterson’s spot in the rotation beginning on Monday. The last straw for Peterson appears to have been giving up six runs on 11 hits over five innings against the Reds on Tuesday. He holds a miserable 5.57 ERA and 1.67 WHIP across 53 1/3 innings on the season.
