Erick Fedde allowed one run with five strikeouts over six innings in a loss to the Astros on Tuesday.
Fedde worked a clean first inning, then stranded the bases loaded in the second. He worked some magic once again in the fourth, escaping with the bases loaded for a second time. A double and a base hit in the sixth would score the first run of the game to put the Astros ahead. The 32-year-old right-hander did an excellent job limiting Houston to the one run while striking out five, but took the loss with no run support. Fedde will take a 3.43 ERA, 1.14 WHIP, and a 10/11 K/BB ratio across 21 innings into a start against the Mets in New York on Sunday.
