Sean Burke allowed four runs (one earned) on five hits in five innings in a no-decision against the Red Sox on Sunday.
Burke also struck out five but walked three while posting just a 39 percent zone rate overall on the day. He simply couldn’t command his four-seam fastball today, which caused him to use his secondaries early in the count for strikes, but those pitches kept him in the game. He also got the benefit of a scoring decision in the first inning when a 108 mph ball off the bat of Rafael Devers short-hopped Lenyn Sosa at second base and bounded into right field. It was called an error, so Wilyer Abreu’s homer two batters later gave Burke no earned runs despite Devers scorching the ball. Burke has a 6.23 ERA on the season and you can stay away from his start next week in Sacramento against the A’s.

Jasson Domínguez (shoulder) could begin a minor league rehab assignment in early June.
Domínguez was able to resume hitting last week and should return to minor league game action at some point next week. The 23-year-old former top prospect hit the injured list with an AC joint sprain in his left shoulder back on May 8.
Votto: Ohtani's season could be MLB's best ever
Joey Votto catches up with Dan Patrick about his post-MLB life, reflecting on his worldwide travels, Shohei Ohtani's greatness, the possibility of a salary cap, and much more.
  • TEX Shortstop #5
Corey Seager (back) will be reevaluated at some point this week.
Seager was scheduled to take live batting practice last weekend, but that session was ultimately scuttled after he didn’t bounce back from a workout. The 32-year-old fantasy standout hit the injured list with back inflammation on May 18. There should be a clearer picture concerning his return timeline and next steps at some point this weekend.
  • LAD Relief Pitcher #3
Edwin Díaz (elbow) resumed a throwing program this week.
Díaz underwent surgery to remove loose bodies from his elbow last month and is expected to be sidelined until after the All-Star break in mid-July. There should be a clearer return timeline once he starts ramping up his throwing program. There’s zero urgency for the Dodgers to rush him back considering their bullpen has been one of the best in baseball this season, largely without Díaz, thanks to the emergence of younger arms like Kyle Hurt and Will Klein. It’ll likely be Tanner Scott continuing to handle the bulk of the save chances in his absence.
  • LAD Relief Pitcher #41
Brock Stewart (foot) progressed to facing hitters earlier this week at Dodger Stadium.
Stewart is likely going to need a rehab assignment since he’s made just two appearances this season due to foot and shoulder issues. The 34-year-old has the stuff to pitch in high-leverage spots and will help fortify Los Angeles’ late-inning mix once he’s back in early June.
  • COL Starting Pitcher #32
Chase Dollander (elbow) still hasn’t resumed throwing.
Rockies manager Warren Schaeffer said earlier this month that Dollander would be shut down for 2-3 weeks before being cleared to start a throwing progression. The 24-year-old former top pitching prospect was in the midst of a legitimate breakthrough campaign before hitting the injured list with an elbow strain back on May 15. There should be a definitive return timeline once he resumes throwing, but fantasy managers probably shouldn’t expect him back until after the All-Star break in mid-July.
  • SD Starting Pitcher #27
Nick Pivetta (elbow) still hasn’t resumed throwing.
Pivetta’s return timeline remains a bit nebulous but the Padres have expressed confidence that he’ll pitch again this season. The 33-year-old hit the injured list with a right elbow flexor strain back on April 15. The biggest variable for fantasy managers to watch is whether he’s able to ramp up his throwing progression without any soreness or discomfort.
  • SD Starting Pitcher #44
Joe Musgrove (elbow) is scheduled to begin a throwing progression this week.
Musgrove’s situation remains murky and extremely complex as he attempt to make it back from Tommy John surgery. The 33-year-old hit the injured list at the conclusion of spring training to continue building up his arm strength and stamina, but wound up being shut down completely from throwing shortly afterwards. The hope is that he’ll begin ramping up without any setbacks and could be an option for the Padres at some point in the second half. He’s a long ways off from making it back to San Diego, but any sort of progress is encouraging.
  • SD Starting Pitcher #33
Germán Márquez (forearm) progressed to facing hitters on Thursday.
Márquez figures to be an option for San Diego’s rotation at some point in mid-June following a couple minor league rehab starts. The 31-year-old has been on the shelf recovering from forearm nerve inflammation since May 2.
  • SF Right Fielder #51
Jung Hoo Lee (back) resumed baseball activities earlier this week.
There’s a chance Lee is activated from the injured list for Friday’s series opener against the Rockies at Coors Field, which would be a nice bonus for fantasy managers. The 27-year-old outfielder hit the shelf with a back strain on May 22.
  • CHC Starting Pitcher #30
Edward Cabrera (blister) has started a throwing progression.
Cabrera began throwing plyometric balls earlier this week as he works his way back from a blister on his right middle finger that put him on the injured list back on May 24. The 28-year-old figures to be ready to rejoin Chicago’s rotation mix in early June.
