Jameson Taillon allowed nine hits and six runs, five earned, with one walk and four strikeouts over four innings in a loss to the Mets on Friday.
This game got off to a bad start for Taillon as Francisco Lindor blasted a lead-off home run and things never got easier. In all, he allowed four homers – all to left-handed batters – and threw exactly 25 pitches in each of his four innings of work. While that’s mind-blowing, it also goes to show how few easy moments he had. He’ll try to right the ship in his next scheduled start against the Marlins.

Vladimir Guerrero Jr. went 1-for-4 with a solo homer in Toronto’s 7-1 win over the White Sox on Saturday.
Guerrero went yard for his only hit, taking Aaron Civale deep for a solo blast in the sixth inning, his tenth home run of the season. The 26-year-old first baseman is hitting .281/.382/.445 with the ten homers, 44 runs scored, and 39 RBI across 330 plate appearances.
What's next for demoted Red Sox prospect Campbell?
A tough couple months prompted a demotion for Red Sox prospect Kristian Campbell, but James Schiano remains confident he'll find his way in Boston -- and for fantasy managers.
  • TOR Shortstop #11
Bo Bichette went 1-for-5 with a solo homer against the White Sox on Saturday.
Bichette led off the bottom of the first inning with a solo homer off Aaron Civale to put Toronto on the board. It was the only hit of the day for the 27-year-old shortstop and his third home run in the last five games. Bichette is slashing .277/.320/.445 with 11 homers, 37 runs scored, 46 RBI, and four steals across 344 plate appearances.
  • CWS 3rd Baseman #20
Miguel Vargas went 1-for-3 with a triple and a run scored against the Blue Jays on Saturday.
Vargas tripled in the sixth inning and scored the White Sox only run of the game on an error. The 25-year-old infielder has been much improved this season, posting a career-low strikeout rate with impressive hard-hit metrics. Vargas is slashing .239/.320/.434 with 10 homers and 39 runs scored across 306 plate appearances.
  • TOR Starting Pitcher #17
José Berríos allowed one run, zero earned, with five strikeouts over 7 2/3 innings in a win over the White Sox on Saturday.
Berríos was outstanding at home against the White Sox. The only run in against the 31-year-old right-hander was an unearned run in the sixth on a triple and a throwing error. He allowed just one other hit and three walks while striking out five. Berríos will take a solid 3.51 ERA, 1.24 WHIP, and an 81/36 K/BB ratio across 95 innings into a start against the Red Sox in Boston on Friday.
  • SEA Relief Pitcher #46
Trent Thornton left Saturday’s game with an apparent injury against the Cubs.
This was scary. Thornton looked exhausted after issuing a walk to Ian Happ in the eighth inning, and nearly stumbled over and had to be visited by an EMT during the visit. He’s been replaced by Casey Legumina. The guess is that this is heat exhaustion, but more details should be provided shortly.
  • CWS Starting Pitcher #43
Aaron Civale allowed five runs with two strikeouts over seven innings in a loss against the Blue Jays on Saturday.
Civale made his second start for the White Sox on Saturday, giving them seven innings while giving up five runs. Bo Bichette took him deep for a solo homer in the first. Four hits brought three more in to score in the second. Civale then settled in for four scoreless frames before Vladimir Guerrero Jr. went yard for a solo homer in the seventh. Civale ends the day with a 5.03 ERA, 1.47 WHIP, and a 25/12 K/BB ratio across 34 innings. He’ll take on the Giants in Chicago on Friday.
  • BAL Shortstop #11
X-rays returned negative on Jordan Westburg’s jammed finger.
Westburg was removed from Saturday’s game against the Yankees after jamming his finger, but the good news is that the initial imaging revealed no structural damage. The 26-year-old will have a chance to get back into the lineup in the coming days — assuming no setbacks — and should be considered day-to-day for now.
  • MIL Left Fielder #6
Isaac Collins went 2-for-4 with a double, two runs scored, and three RBI to lead the Brewers to a 9-0 win over the Twins on Saturday.
Collins led off the second inning with a base hit and scored on a sacrifice fly. He then plated a run with a sac fly in the eighth before scoring and drove in two more with a double in the ninth. The 27-year-old outfielder has gotten consistent playing time in left field for the Brewers, hitting .254/.358/406 with four homers and seven steals across 163 plate appearances.
  • MIL 2nd Baseman #2

Turang drove in a run on a sacrifice fly in the first inning, then later led off the eighth with a double and scored on a sacrifice fly by Isaac Collins. Turang collected a second hit and run scored in the ninth. The 25-year-old second baseman is hitting a solid .272/.351/355 with four homers, 49 runs scored, and 16 steals across 317 plate appearances.
  • MIL Starting Pitcher #62
Jose Quintana tossed six scoreless innings with one strikeout in a win over the Twins on Saturday.
Quintana had an excellent day on the mound, holding the Twins scoreless over six frames. He scattered three hits and four walks while striking out just one batter, mostly succeeding on weak contact. The 36-year-old left-hander will take a 2.98 ERA, 1.40 WHIP, and a 36/25 K/BB ratio across 54 1/3 innings into a start against the Rockies in Milwaukee on Friday.
