Royals activated RHP Steven Cruz off the 15-day injured list.
Cruz missed six week with a right shoulder impingement. The 26-year-old should have a high-leverage role, and one just opened with Lucas Erceg placed on the injured list with his own shoulder impingement.

Bubba Chandler allowed four runs -- three earned -- with three strikeouts over five innings in a win over the Astros on Tuesday.
Chandler served up a two-run homer to Yordan Alvarez in the first inning. He tossed a scoreless second, then surrendered an unearned run in the third after the leadoff man reached on an error. The Astros would bring one more run across in the fourth on a pair of hits. Chandler gave the Pirates one more inning, tossing a clean fifth to leave in line for a win. The 23-year-old right-hander will take a 4.89 ERA, 1.51 WHIP, and a 55/38 K/BB ratio across 57 innings into a tough start against the Braves in Atlanta on Sunday.
Reynolds putting together a solid season
Bryan Reynolds has been heating up as of late, with the two-time All-Star proving he still has plenty left in the tank for the Pittsburgh Pirates.
  • HOU Starting Pitcher #50
Mike Burrows allowed six runs -- five earned -- with three strikeouts over five innings in a loss against the Pirates on Tuesday.
Burrows tossed a scoreless first inning, then surrendered a two-run homer to Endy Rodríguez in the second. He’d strand two more runners before getting out of the frame. Burrows would take a two-run lead into the sixth, but gave up a three-run homer to Oneil Cruz before recording an out. Burrows would leave a runner on base, departing at 90 pitches. The inherited runner would eventually come in to score. The 26-year-old right-hander has disappointed so far this season with the Astros, posting a 5.66 ERA, 1.54 WHIP, and a 57/26 K/BB ratio across 68 1/3 innings into a start against the Athletics in Houston on Sunday.
  • MIN Relief Pitcher #94
Yoendrys Gómez tossed 1 1/3 scoreless innings and picked up the save against the White Sox on Tuesday.
Gómez is one of many faces who have picked up a save for the Twins this year. All four of his saves have come since May 10, but Gómez isn’t running with the job. Minnesota’s closer situation remains a fantasy situation to avoid.
  • CWS Starting Pitcher #65
Davis Martin allowed six runs in 4 2/3 innings and took the loss against the Twins on Tuesday.
Martin gave up 10 hits, walked three and struck out two. It was a tough outing for Martin, who allowed 13 baserunners, gave up six runs, had only two strikeouts and failed to complete five innings. His ERA rose to just 2.61 after the shellacking. Martin is lined up to face the Braves at home next week.
  • NYY Right Fielder #99
Yankees manager Aaron Boone said Aaron Judge (ribs) will visit a specialist on Wednesday.
Boone added that Judge remains day-to-day after imaging revealed a bone bruise in his right rib cage that was leading to lingering shoulder soreness for the last couple weeks. The 34-year-old generational talent sat out his first game of the season during Tuesday’s loss to the Guardians. It doesn’t sound like he’s headed to the injured list at this juncture. A clearer update on his status should come later this week.
  • MIN Starting Pitcher #61
Connor Prielipp allowed four runs in six innings and got the win in the Twins’ 6-4 victory over the White Sox on Tuesday.
Prielipp gave up six hits, walked two and struck out seven. He improved to 2-3 on the season. Prielipp and the Twins fell behind early in the game as a throwing error by Minnesota and a two-run single by Miguel Vargas gave the White Sox the first three runs of the game. The Twins would come back to win 6-4 with Prielipp striking out seven in six innings. He’s lined up to face the Royals at home on Sunday.
  • CIN Right Fielder #30
Will Benson went 1-for-1 with a pinch-hit game-tying home run in the ninth inning against the Royals on Tuesday.
Benson’s home run was his third of the year. He pinch hit to lead-off the bottom of the ninth inning and tied the game with a solo home run off Royals reliever Lucas Erceg. Benson is a bench bat who will continue to see most of his at-bats come against right-handed pitching.
  • CIN Left Fielder #7
Spencer Steer went 2-for-4 with three runs and two solo home runs against the Royals on Tuesday.
Steer’s two-homer game gives him nine home runs on the season. He hit a solo shot off Noah Cameron in the fifth inning, which was the only hit allowed by the Royals’ starter. Steer also hit a solo blast off Matt Strahm in the eighth inning. He’s hitting .277 with 23 RBI and an .812 OPS.
  • KC Relief Pitcher #60
Lucas Erceg allowed a run and blew the save against the Reds on Tuesday.
Erceg has been given all kinds of runway as the Royals’ closer since Carlos Estévez (shoulder) went down with an injury, but all he’s done is blow game after game for Kansas City. On Tuesday, Erceg was protecting a one-run lead and allowed a game-tying home run to the first batter he faced in Will Benson. He now has six blown saves and a 6.45 ERA to go with his 11 saves. Fantasy managers as well as the Royals have to be considering alternative options at this point.
  • KC Starting Pitcher #65
Noah Cameron allowed one run in seven innings and got a no-decision against the Reds on Tuesday.
Cameron gave up one hit, walked none and struck out eight. It was a dominant performance from the 26-year-old left-hander. The only hit Cameron allowed was a solo home run to Spencer Steer in the fifth inning. He lowered his ERA to 4.22 on the year. His 3.70 xFIP shows there’s still more room for Cameron to lower his ERA. He’ll have his next chance against the Twins on Sunday.
