    Phillies signed C J.T. Realmuto to a three-year, $45 million deal.

The deal was announced over the weekend and is now official. The veteran will be 35 next year and is coming off a season in which he hit .257/.315/.384 with 12 home runs and 8 steals. He remains an elite defensive catcher and a rock-solid presence in the Phillies’ lineup. He has experienced a minor regression offensively and no longer seems likely to push for 15+ steals in a season, which makes him more of a fringe top 10 catcher for fantasy leagues.

David Peterson allowed two runs in 5 2/3 innings and got the win in the Cubs’ 8-2 victory over the Brewers on Saturday.

Peterson gave up five hits, walked none and struck out two. He improved to 4-6 with the win. The 30-year-old left-hander was able to settle in and pitch into the sixth inning before handing it off to the bullpen with a 6-2 lead. Peterson has a 5.86 ERA, but his 4.04 xFIP points to a potential bounce back. He’s lined up to face the Cardinals at home next weekend.

Michael Grove tossed three scoreless innings with four strikeouts in a win against the Diamondbacks on Saturday.

Grove followed Cole Sulser against the Diamondbacks after Sulser allowed one run over the first two innings. Grove surrendered just one hit, striking out four over three scoreless innings. It was the first major league appearance for Grove since 2024 after the 29-year-old right-hander underwent right shoulder labrum surgery. He’ll likely continue to work bulk relief for the Rays, which could put him in line for more wins.
