The 33-year-old left-hander ends the day with a bloated 7.07 ERA and 19 strikeouts over 14 innings across three starts. He’ll look to bounce back in a start against the Cubs in Chicago on Friday.

A pair of base hits put the Mets on the board with a run in the first inning. Lopez kept the Mets from scoring again until the fifth, when Bo Bichette took him deep for a two-run blast. Francisco Alvarez added a run on a solo homer in the sixth. Lopez walked the following batter and departed at 96 pitches without recording an out in the sixth. The 28-year-old left-hander struck out five. Lopez ends the day with a 6.75 ERA, 2.18 WHIP, and an 11/13 K/BB ratio across 13 1/3 innings. He’ll take on the Rangers in Sacramento on Thursday.

De La Cruz knocked a base hit in the first, stole second, then scored the first run of the game on a single. He added a pair of doubles in the fourth and sixth before walking and collecting his second steal in the eighth. The 24-year-old shortstop is filling all categories early, with four homers and five steals while slashing .271/.358/.525 across 67 plate appearances.

Steer drew a walk in the first inning and scored the first run of the game on a base hit. He added another run for the Reds in the second with a solo homer off George Klassen, his second of the season. The 28-year-old needed that one as he came into Saturday’s contest with a .531 OPS over his first 51 plate appearances.

Neto led off the third inning with a base hit and scored the Angels’ first run on a groundout. He then drew a walk and scored again in the fourth before knocking a double in the sixth to reach for a third time. The 25-year-old shortstop is having a solid start to the season, hitting .262/.357/.557 with five homers, 14 runs scored, eight RBI, and one steal over 70 plate appearances.

Williamson was working through traffic in this one as he struggled to find the zone. He stranded two runners in each of the first two innings before loading the bases in the third. A groundout would bring a run in before Williamson escaped the jam with just the one run allowed. Two more walks in the fourth put two on for Mike Trout, who doubled to score both runners. Williamson’s day would be done after four innings at 93 pitches, only 49 for strikes. The 28-year-old left-hander will take a 5.28 ERA, 1.37 WHIP, and a 10/9 K/BB ratio into a start against the Twins in Minnesota on Friday.
