Masyn Winn was pulled from Friday’s victory over the Red Sox after being hit by a pitch on his right knee.
Winn was diagnosed with a bruise on his right fibula head, just below his knee. While he was moving around alright after Friday’s game, he was dealing with some soreness and swelling and still had it wrapped up. It’s possible he could get an extra day off on Saturday to be on the safe side, but he shouldn’t be looking at any sort of extended absence.

Cardinals OF prospect Joshua Báez went 1-for-5 with a solo home run for Triple-A Memphis on Sunday.
Báez has homered in four of the last six games and is up to 11 on the season to go along with 27 RBI and seven steals. That’s the good news. The bad news is that he has a 34.5 percent strikeout rate on the season and has a 21/2 K/BB ratio in May. The power is tantalizing, and the speed is a nice boost, but will he make enough contact? For comparison’s sake, Báez has a nearly 65 percent contact rate, which is about five percent higher than Spencer Jones. Still, an 18.1 percent swinging strike rate is a bit concerning.
Temper power expectations for Guerrero Jr.
After finally hitting his first home run of May, Vladimir Guerrero Jr.'s power outage to start the season could actually be a sign of things to come for the remainder of year, where he could finish with 20-25 home runs.
  • PHI 1st Baseman
Phillies optioned INF/OF Felix Reyes to Triple-A Lehigh Valley.
Reyes was hitting .158/.158/.263 in 38 plate appearances with a 9/0 K/BB ratio while playing mainly against left-handed pitching. The 25-year-old will head back down to Triple-A, where he will likely play full-time.
  • PHI Left Fielder #4
Phillies recalled INF/OF Otto Kemp from Triple-A Lehigh Valley.
Kemp is hitting .262/.340/.452 in 24 games at Triple-A with three home runs, 21 RBI, and two steals. He will play mainly against left-handed pitching at the big league level.
  • BAL Center Fielder #27
Orioles claimed OF Michael Siani off waivers from the Dodgers.
Siani was waived last week when the Dodgers claimed Alek Thomas off waivers from the Diamondbacks. Now the Orioles will claim Siani. The 26-year-old was hitting .225/.355/.303 with 21 runs scored and five steals in 29 games at Triple-A. He will report to Triple-A Norfolk.
  • BAL Relief Pitcher #70
Orioles designated RHP Jose Espada for assignment.
The Orioles needed a spot on the 40-man roster for recently claimed Michael Siani, so Espada was let go. He was also optioned back to Triple-A early last week, so he should clear waivers and could re-sign with the Orioles on a minor league contract.
  • NYM Relief Pitcher #54
Mets selected the contract of RHP Daniel Duarte from Triple-A Syracuse
Duarte has pitched in a hybrid role in Triple-A, providing the Mets with some length. He has a 2.60 ERA, 1.27 WHIP, and 14/9 K/BB ratio in 17 1/3 innings across 12 appearances (four starts).
  • NYM Relief Pitcher #56
Mets optioned RHP Joey Gerber to Triple-A Syracuse.
Gerber was recalled on Saturday but did not pitch for the Mets. He’ll now head back to the minors.
  • NYM Relief Pitcher #33
Mets placed LHP A.J. Minter (lat) on the 60-day injured list.
This is just a procedural move. Minter suffered a setback at the beginning of the month, but he is still expected to restart his rehab assignment soon. This move doesn’t change his timeline, which could be sometime in June.
  • NYM Starting Pitcher
Jake Brown of the Mets Daily Show reports that Mets LHP prospect Zach Thornton could be an option to take Clay Holmes’ (fibula) spot in the rotation.
A few Mets content creators have suggested a similar idea, so it’s worth exploring. Thornton, a 24-year-old left-hander, last pitched on Friday, so his next start would line up with when Holmes’ spot in the rotation is due. Thornton has also pitched to a 3.16 ERA, 1.19 WHIP, and 40/12 K/BB ratio in 37 innings split between Double-A and Triple-A this season. With Jonah Tong really struggling in Triple-A this season and Jack Wenninger posting a nearly 15 percent walk rate at Triple-A, Thornton might be the safest option for the Mets. As a low-velocity left-hander with a plus slider and a true five-pitch mix, Thornton would only be a fantasy option in the deepest formats.
  • PHI Starting Pitcher
Phillies RHP prospect Gage Wood is being promoted to Double-A Reading.
Wood is a first-round pick from 2025 who has a 3.42 ERA and 40 strikeouts in 26 1/3 innings at Low-A this season. Considering his strikeout upside and the fact that he’s 22 years old, it makes sense for the Phillies to test him against older and better hitters.
