Leody Taveras went 1-for-3 with a walk, triple and two RBI as the Orioles dropped the nightcap of their doubleheader against the Astros.

Taveras smacked a two-run triple off of Lance McCullers Jr. in the fourth inning of this one, but all it did was pull the Orioles to within seven runs at 10-3. He has been sizzling at the dish in recent weeks and is slashing a healthy .288/.397/.455 with two homers, 17 RBI and a stolen base in his first 79 plate appearances with the O’s.

Diamondbacks manager Torey Lovullo told reporters he doesn’t have any additional information regarding Ketel Marte’s absence.

Lovullo added that it was Marte’s decision to undergo an MRI on his knee back in Arizona. He also said that he hopes he’ll return before the end of the season. There are more questions than answers at this point in the ongoing Marte situation, but it’s safe to assume that he isn’t returning to Arizona’s lineup at any point in the near future. The hope for fantasy managers is that there will be a definitive update on his status at some point in the near future. It’s challenging to justify hanging onto him in shallow mixed leagues based on everything that has transpired since the Diamondbacks landed in Boston earlier this week.

Jacob Wilson (shoulder) remains out of the lineup for Tuesday’s game against the Royals.

There’s been no indication that Wilson will require a trip to the injured list after being scratched from Monday’s lineup with left shoulder soreness. It’ll be Darell Hernaiz taking over at shortstop with Alika Williams at second base in his absence. Fantasy managers should consider him day-to-day for now.

Tigers sent OF Trei Cruz outright to Triple-A Toledo.

Cruz passed through waivers unclaimed after being designated for assignment over the weekend. The 28-year-old went 0-for-5 at the plate and appeared in just two games for Detroit during a couple stints this season.

Yankees manager Aaron Boone said Max Fried (elbow) could wind up requiring only a minimum stint on the injured list.

It’s a remarkably different tone from Boone this time around after Fried missed nearly two months with a similar issue earlier this season. It sounds like it was more of a precautionary measure to put Fried on the injured list with a bone bruise in his throwing elbow earlier this week since he’s already resumed playing catch. It’s possible he’s ready to rejoin New York’s rotation at some point in late August or early September.

Yankees manager Aaron Boone said Aaron Judge (rib) will start a hitting progression this week.

Judge remains without a definitive return timetable, but has been trending in the right direction over the last couple weeks. The 34-year-old fantasy superstar has been on the shelf with a rib fracture since early June. He’s likely going to need at least a couple additional weeks to ramp up a hitting progression, and get back up to game speed, before returning to New York’s lineup. There’s optimism that he’ll make it back for fantasy managers at some point in September.

Rockies recalled C Braxton Fulford from Triple-A Albuquerque.

Fulford will be part of Colorado’s solution to replace slugging backstop Hunter Goodman with Brett Sullivan likely to handle most of the catching duties in his absence. The 27-year-old has struggled to gain any traction at the highest level after putting up some impressive numbers in the hitter-friendly environments in the Triple-A Pacific Coast League over the past few years.

Rockies placed C Hunter Goodman on the 10-day injured list, retroactive to August 15, with a left shoulder strain.

Colorado loses their most potent middle-of-the-order run-producing threat to the injured list after missing four consecutive games with a lingering shoulder issue. It’s unclear how much time he’ll wind up missing, but fantasy managers should expect the Rockies to proceed with an abundance of caution given his importance to the franchise moving forward. The 26-year-old slugging backstop has delivered first-round fantasy value this season, slashing .251/.320/.541 with 69 runs scored, 34 home runs, 69 RBI and five steals in 460 plate appearances. There should be a definitive return timetable at some point later this week.

Victor Robles (shoulder) is back in the lineup for Tuesday’s series opener against the Brewers.

Robles returns to right field and hitting eighth after missing one game over the weekend with a right shoulder issue. The 29-year-old former top prospect remains irrelevant for fantasy purposes, but a prolonged absence would’ve put some serious strain on Seattle’s outfield depth, especially with Taylor Ward (quad) also banged up.

Taylor Ward (quad) remains out of the lineup for Tuesday’s series opener against the Brewers.

Ward takes a seat for the fifth consecutive game with quad tightness. This would be an obvious injured list situation in most cases, but Mariners manager Dan Wilson told reporters that Ward is very close to returning to the lineup. It sounds like there’s a decent chance he’s back at some point in the next few days.

Brice Turang (knee) is back in the lineup for Tuesday’s series opener against the Mariners.

Turang is back at second base and hitting leadoff following an extended four-game absence due to right knee pain. The 26-year-old fantasy stalwart underwent an MRI that didn’t reveal any structural issues and appears likely to avoid a trip to the injured list. It’s a massive relief for the Brewers, who have been dealing with an avalanche of injuries at their middle infield spots. Fantasy managers can safely exhale after a couple days of uncertainty.
