Red Sox transferred Garrett Crochet (shoulder, lat) from the 15-day injured list to the 60-day injured list.

Crochet has been on IL since April 29, so while there wasn’t a formal timetable on his return after a setback with a lat injury, he’ll be down until at least the end of June. A return after the All-Star break would be a sensible estimate for Crochet.

Rays recalled RHP Joe Boyle from Triple-A Durham.

The Rays have a tired bullpen after Friday’s game, so Boyle is up to help out if needed today. He hasn’t been pitching well of late — he has a 10.43 ERA in his last four starts for Durham — so this will probably be a very short stay.

Rays optioned RHP Chris Roycroft to Triple-A Durham.

Roycroft gave up six runs over 4 1/3 innings in his latest stint with the Rays. He has a 7.27 ERA in 17 1/3 innings for the season.

Angels claimed RHP Trevor Martin off waivers from the Rays; optioned him to Triple-A Salt Lake.

There were probably a bunch of teams putting claims in here, but the Angels had priority. Martin, 25, posted a 3.97 ERA in 11 1/3 innings for the Rays in the first half of the season. He doesn’t offer a particularly high ceiling in relief, but he could prove useful in the sixth and seventh innings with his mid-90s fastball, cutter and splitter and he still has all of his option years remaining.

Willy Adames is out of the lineup for a second straight game Saturday but still doesn’t believe an IL stint will be necessary.

Adames remains day-to-day with what the Giants are calling a mild lower back strain. Christian Koss is playing shortstop today.

Matt Chapman said he’ll be rehabbing for 8-10 weeks following Tuesday’s season-ending core muscle surgery.

Chapman said he originally tore muscle off the bone in two places back in April and played through it for months before going on the IL at the beginning of July. He hit .235/.324/.368 in 84 games before being shut down.

Aaron Judge started throwing Friday for the first time since going on the IL with a rib fracture.

It’s a start. Judge, who last took the field May 31 against the A’s, has yet to resume swinging a bat, so it’s safe to rule out an August return here.

Drew Gilbert, who hadn’t previously batted higher than sixth this season, is in the leadoff spot for Saturday’s game against the Rockies.

Gilbert has done fine work against righties, hitting .265/.357/.409 in 250 plate appearances, so he probably makes as much sense as anyone else on the Giants roster as the leadoff man against them. Jung Hoo Lee, who had been filling that spot recently, is batting cleanup today.

Hunter Goodman is back catching Saturday after missing Friday’s game with left shoulder inflammation.

No need to DH him, apparently, given that it’s his non-throwing shoulder that’s bothering him. He’s batting cleanup against the Giants today.

Blue Jays placed 1B Vladimir Guerrero Jr. on the seven-day concussion injured list.

Tests prior to Saturday’s game must not have gone very well. Guerrero was hurt on a play at third base Friday night against the Yankees. Rather than give Sean Keys another look, the Jays summoned Daz Cameron to replace Guerrero. Charles McAdoo is playing first base today, and Kazuma Okamoto will probably slide over there on occasion.

Blue Jays selected the contract of OF Daz Cameron from Triple-A Buffalo.

Cameron, who opened this season in Korea, had hit .367/.462/.582 with three homers in 23 games since joining Triple-A Buffalo last month. He should get starts against left-handers while Vladimir Guerrero Jr. is absent.
