Rodríguez has posted a 3.79 ERA, 1.40 WHIP and a 51/23 K/BB ratio over 38 innings at the Triple-A level this season. He’ll add a fresh arm to the Jays’ bullpen for the weekend.

The 34-year-old hurler made just six appearances with the Jays, posting a horrifying 8.49 ERA, 1.97 WHIP and an 8/5 K/BB ratio across 11 2/3 innings. He’s likely to clear waivers where he’ll probably elect free agency and be able to peddle his wares on the open market once again.

With Jared Young (concussion) landing on the injured list on Friday, Mauricio will have another opportunity to show the Mets what he can do at the MLB level. He has struggled in his limited chances this season, slashing .180/.180/.260 with one homer, two RBI and an 18/0 K/BB ratio in his first 50 plate appearances.
