POINT GUARD

Darius Garland – Cleveland (vs. Detroit) - DK: $9,100 / FD: $8,500 / Yahoo: $34
The point is one place where you won’t find positional scarcity tonight. In fact, it’s tough to fit all the guards I want tonight. Garland and the Cavs are the biggest favorites of the night, facing a Detroit team that ranks 25thin defensive rating and gives up the sixth-most fantasy points to opposing point guards. Garland’s salary has been steadily rising, but he’s earned it with regular huge double-doubles. He also has at least one steal in every game so far this month. His 31.9 usage rate in March is among the highest in the league, and with Caris LeVert a possible rest candidate tonight, that should continue.

Also Consider: Luka Doncic, LaMelo Ball, Russell Westbrook

SHOOTING GUARD

Jalen Brunson – Dallas (at Charlotte) - DK: $6,300 / FD: $5,200 / Yahoo: $21

I’m not totally fading Doncic tonight (see below), but for cash games, I do like the discount Brunson gets us now that Dinwiddie has been ruled out. His numbers have been more up and down since Dinwiddie arrived, but he’s been great in his last two games and has generally taken advantage of good matchups. The Hornets are the sixth-best overall fantasy matchup, playing at the third-highest pace, and offer above average fantasy points to most positions, including G. Still, Vegas has this as a relatively high-scoring (over/under 225.5 points) and close game (Mavericks minus-1). Brunson is mainly giving you scoring, but has some pretty steady rebounding and assist numbers as well. He’s a solid play wherever you can fit him in.

Also Consider: Kentavious Caldwell-Pope, Cade Cunningham, Malik Monk

SMALL FORWARD

Saddiq Bey – Detroit (at Cleveland) - DK: $6,800 / FD: $5,600 / Yahoo: $25

This is not a position of plenty tonight. We expect LeBron, who was questionable last night, to rest his sore knee on the back-to-back tonight in Washington. Markkanen is coming off a terrific game last night, and has made it into my DK lineups, but Bey is still cheaper than he is on FanDuel, and is coming off his own excellent performance Thursday evening. Normally I prefer Bey in tournaments for that immense upside, but given salary and positional constraints on this slate, I’m slotting him into cash games tonight. Jerami Grant will be active tonight, but Bey is still playing a ton of minutes and shouldn’t fade into the background so easily. Just don’t be disappointed if he fails to turn in another 50-point game…

Also Consider: Miles Bridges, Lauri Markkanen

POWER FORWARD

Evan Mobley – Cleveland (vs. Detroit) - DK: $7,700 / FD: $7,900 / Yahoo: $31 (C)

I hate to keep harping on the matchup here, but Detroit is actually the worst rebounding team in the league in addition to their many other defensive flaws. Mobley had a slightly down game against the 76ers earlier in the week, which is I guess why is salary isn’t higher, but I’m not arguing. I love getting him for under $8K on DK and FD, where he can fill the PF or F slot for me. Using him at center on Yahoo means I have to look elsewhere for PF, which is looking like a punt position for me there. Mobley is worth having tonight as he is doing work on both ends of the floor, with two blocks in three of his last four games, and an average of over 20 points and 10 rebounds per game since March 6.

Also Consider: Kyle Kuzma, Marvin Bagley III

CENTER

Mason Plumlee – Charlotte (vs. Dallas) - DK: $4,900 / FD: $5,700 / Yahoo: $19

Plumlee is never a guy I’m excited to roster, but also, he hasn’t been that bad lately. Even his down games are over 20 fantasy points, and he’s approached 40 twice in the last 10 days. On this slate with no true stars at center (assuming Kristaps Porzingis continues to rest on b2bs), I’m choosing to save with a nice floor/ceiling combo. Stewart profiles similarly, but with a lower floor and in a tougher matchup. If you need the extra savings, though, I have no real issue with Stewart either.

Also Consider: Isaiah Stewart, Kevin Love

Additional Notes

Luka Doncic (G – DAL) is a great GPP target tonight. Not only is the most expensive option on all three sites (but actually pretty reasonable on FanDuel), but he put up a mediocre line (for him) last night, with only 42 fantasy points. That will make a lot of people think twice about using him, even though, as noted above, the Hornets offer a significant pace bump and poor defensive rating.

Terry Rozier (G – CHA) if you scrape your pennies together, you might have enough salary leftover to include Rozier tonight, but probably not Ball. Ball is coming off a great effort, but Rozier has been consistently solid. I can afford Rozier on Yahoo and FanDuel, but not DK ($8400). If LeBron James rests tonight, you can save a bundle on Westbrook as an upside alternative, but again, only on FD or Yahoo (Westbrook is $8700 on DK).

Kyle Kuzma (F – WAS) This is the game with the highest point total, and another narrow spread (230.5 points, Wizards minus-1.5). I always like Kuzma, but with Porzingis probably sitting tonight, he’s a no-brainer if you can get him in.
