POINT GUARD
Dejounte Murray – San Antonio (vs. Sacramento) - DK: $10,600 / FD: $9,600 / Yahoo: $50
This is the toughest position to navigate tonight, with Ja Morant a human highlight reel and Doncic and Curry facing off in the West. Murray is often left out of the superstar discussion but he’s one of my favorite plays, thanks to his triple-double potential. Tonight he also gets one of the overall best matchups with the Kings, in a game with a 238.5-point over/under. He’s surely be looking to bounce-back after being ejected in the Spurs last game, a loss to Morant and the Grizzlies.
Also Consider: Luka Doncic, Steph Curry, Ja Morant, Gabe Vincent, Reggie Jackson, Ayo Dosunmu, Delon Wright (if Trae Young is out)
SHOOTING GUARD
Derrick White – Boston (vs. Memphis) - DK: $5,500 / FD: $5,700 (PG) / Yahoo: $21
The injury to Jaylen Brown means more opportunity for the newest Celtic, White. He’s generally been a fantasy-point-per-minute player, so as long as he gets 30-plus, he should be a strong value play tonight. It’s also worth noting that he has had a couple of above average games vs. Memphis this season, and the Grizzlies offer a significant pace bump. This should be a high-scoring and close game, with tons of fantasy potential.
Also Consider: Cade Cunningham, Gary Trent Jr., Zach LaVine
SMALL FORWARD
Bogdan Bogdanovic – Atlanta (vs. Chicago) - DK: $6,000 / FD: $6,300 / Yahoo: $21
Often when I don’t feel strongly about this position, I end up with Bogdanovic. His mid-range salary works well, especially when I see him in a high scoring and close game. Chicago has won all three of the matchups between these two teams this season, two by a wide margin. Still, they match up pretty evenly in a lot of key stats, if Young is able to play tonight. Bogdanovic has been very consistently good lately, hitting multiple threes in every game except one in February, and riding a seven-game streak with at least one steal.
Also Consider: Jimmy Butler, Andrew Wiggins, Harrison Barnes, Jayson Tatum
POWER FORWARD
Scottie Barnes – Toronto (vs. Detroit) - DK: $6,400 / FD: $6,600 / Yahoo: $27
The Raptors have ruled OG Anunoby out for tonight, and Fred VanVleet is questionable. Toronto gets a juicy matchup with the Pistons, who rank sixth in overall fantasy points allowed, 30th in rebounding rate, and 29th in defensive rating. Barnes has double-doubled twice in a row coming into tonight’s game, with eight assists, six steals and two blocks in those games. He’s been smashing value even as his salary continues to rise and should continue to do so tonight.
Also Consider: DeMar DeRozan, Jerami Grant, Kevin Durant (GPP), Al Horford
CENTER
Pascal Siakam – Toronto (vs. Detroit) - DK: $9,200 / FD: $8,100 / Yahoo: $36
I debated between spending up on DeRozan or Siakam quite a bit, but I love this spot for Siakam. It’s a matchup he’s thrived in this season, averaging 50 fantasy points in two games vs. Detroit. Given the rebounding woes of the Pistons, and the possible lack of offense with FVV questionable for the game, Siakam should cruise to another full stat line tonight.
Also Consider: Bam Adebayo, Nikola Vucevic, Robert Williams, Jakob Poeltl, Domantas Sabonis
Additional Notes
Ayo Dosunmu (G – CHI) makes for an affordable G slot filler tonight, in a game I’ve already mentioned is bursting with fantasy opportunity. He showed that he’s not totally invincible with a couple of duds (Memphis and Phoenix), but generally he is out there reaching value no problem.
Devin Vassell (G – SAS) is one of my faves, and in a great matchup with the Kings, I have no problem rostering both he and Murray tonight. He provides strong to modest production in every category, and hasn’t played since Monday. This is a nice bounce-back spot for the Spurs, and I expect Vasell to contribute significantly in 30-ish minutes.
Gabe Vincent (PG – MIA) is still super cheap. Brooklyn is a fantasy-friendly guard matchup, and as long as Lowry is away from the team, this is Vincent’s gig. $4500 DK, $13 Yahoo, and $4900 FanDuel makes him a near must-play value on all three sites.
