Here Come the Suns & 8 Other Waiver Wire Adds

Bismack Biyombo

Bismack Biyombo

Mark J. Rebilas-USA TODAY Sports

Bismack Biyombo (19%): With news that Deandre Ayton (ankle) will miss at least a week, there’s going to be a new sheriff in the Suns’ frontcourt. Jock Landale has played well this season, but Biyombo started the second half of Friday’s game after Ayton got hurt and finished with 11 points, 13 boards and a pair of blocks. He played well when given minutes last season, so he’s a priority add heading into Week 3.

Jock Landale (7%): For those looking to roll the dice or those who missed out on grabbing Biyombo off waivers, may I present Mr. Jock Landale, the Australian big man who should see his minutes increase with Ayton sidelined. Landale is averaging 20.9 points, 11.1 rebounds and 1.8 blocks per 36 minutes so far this season.

Josh Richardson (24%): The Spurs released Joshua Primo on Friday, which makes Richardson quite an attractive streamer for as long as Devin Vassell is out. J-Rich has averaged 11.5 points, 8.0 assists, 4.0 rebounds and 1.5 steals across his last two games.

Jeremy Sochan (10%): Don’t look now but Sochan has averaged 13.0 points, 3.7 rebounds, 2.7 assists, 1.0 steals and 1.3 triples while shooting 56.7% across his last three contests.

Jalen McDaniels (35%): He continues to get it done and make the most of his opportunities while Charlotte is short-handed. McDaniels delivered his fourth career double-double Saturday and has very quietly been a solid, top-80 fantasy player this season.

Jalen Williams (25%): Williams returned from a four-game absence Saturday and delivered 13 points, three boards, three dimes, four steals and a block across 27 minutes. It’s tough to gauge how valuable any player will be in this crowded and confusing Thunder rotation, but Williams appears to have the inside track to meaningful playing time. After shining in the preseason, he’s putting it together when the games count. Don’t miss out on adding him.

Tyus Jones (32%): You can set your watch based on this guy’s performances when he’s given a spot start, and he popped off for 23 points and 10 dimes Saturday. Make sure to add him in case Ja Morant‘s illness costs him Monday’s rematch with the Jazz.

Naji Marshall (2%): He’s averaged 18.0 points, 4.5 rebounds, 3.0 assists and 1.5 triples over his last two outings while starting in place of the injured Zion Williamson. Marshall’s fun run for fantasy managers may be drawing to an end, but there’s no guarantee Zion is ready to go Sunday. If he’s not, Marshall would get at least one more stream-worthy matchup.

Seth Curry (21%): Curry made his season debut Saturday and finished with zero points, two rebounds, six assists, a steal and a block across 18 minutes. His playing time is sure to increase as he ramps up, and there’s enough upside to warrant a speculative pickup if you can afford to stash him on your bench for a game or two to see how he performs.

KJ Martin (4%): His last two games haven’t been tremendous (11.0 points, 7.0 rebounds, 1.5 assists), but Eric Gordon has already been ruled out for Sunday, and Jabari Smith is questionable. Martin could see a spike in minutes against Phoenix, making him a speculative add for fantasy managers looking to squeeze one more game into the week.
