Rotoworld

  • BOS Small Forward #0

Jayson Tatum played 43 minutes in Wednesday’s 113-98 win over the Cavaliers, amassing 25 points (9-of-16 FGs, 4-of-4 FTs), 10 rebounds, nine assists, four steals, and three 3-pointers.
The Celtics may not have blown out the shorthanded Cavaliers as many expected, but the team with the NBA’s best record handled its business to advance to the Eastern Conference Finals. Tatum finished one assist shy of a triple-double and was highly efficient in Game 5, shooting over 50% from the field while committing only one turnover. Boston has reached the conference finals in three straight and six of the last eight postseasons. Next up is either New York or Indiana, with the Knicks leading that series three games to two.
  • HOU Center #12
Personalize your Rotoworld feed by favoriting players
Steven Adams (left calf strain, right knee injury recovery) is available for Thursday’s game against the Mavericks.
Adams is good to go after the Rockets listed him as questionable on the initial injury report. He’ll serve as Alperen Sengun’s backup, which makes it difficult for the veteran center to achieve fantasy relevance. Jock Landale likely falls entirely out of the rotation.
  • MIL Power Forward #34
Giannis Antetokounmpo (right patella tendinitis) is available for Thursday’s game against the Grizzlies.
As has been the case on multiple occasions already this season, Antetokounmpo has been cleared after initially being listed as probable. He’ll take on his usual workload as the Bucks look to bounce back from Monday’s loss to the Celtics.
  • MEM Shooting Guard #46
John Konchar (right quad contusion) is unlikely to play in Thursday’s game against the Bucks.
Konchar was initially questionable for Thursday’s game, but it is unlikely he’ll play. With Desmond Bane and Marcus Smart already ruled out, Jake LaRavia, Jaylen Wells, and Scottie Pippen Jr. are all in the mix for additional playing time. Of those three, Pippen is the best streaming option.
  • DEN Power Forward #31
Vlatko Cancar (right ankle sprain) is probable for Friday’s game against the Timberwolves.
Cancar is on track to be available for Friday’s game. While his status does not impact fantasy basketball, the Nuggets’ depth would take a hit if he cannot play.
  • DEN Power Forward #32
Aaron Gordon (right knee contusion) is probable for Friday’s game against the Timberwolves.
The “probable” tag suggests Gordon will ultimately play on Friday. Given the issues the Nuggets have experienced with their bench through the season’s first week, they can ill afford to be without Gordon. Peyton Watson would be in line for more minutes if AG cannot play.
  • IND Small Forward #12
Johnny Furphy (strep throat) is not on the injury report for Friday’s game against the Pelicans.
Furphy is not in the rotation when healthy, so his return will not impact fantasy basketball.
  • NOP Center #21
Yves Missi (right lower abdominal contusion) is questionable for Friday’s game against the Pacers.
While Missi started the second half of Wednesday’s loss to the Warriors in place of the injured Daniel Theis, he only played 12 minutes due to an abdominal injury. If both cannot play against the Pacers, the Pelicans will have to go small, with Jeremiah Robinson-Earl figuring prominently in the rotation.
  • NOP Center #10
Daniel Theis (right ankle sprain) is questionable for Friday’s game against the Pacers.
Theis injured his ankle during Wednesday’s loss to the Warriors, with Yves Missi starting the second half. Missi is also questionable for Friday’s game, so a “doomsday” scenario could have Jeremiah Robinson-Earl in the lineup at the five. Zion Williamson can also fill the void, albeit for limited periods.
  • IND Center #33
Myles Turner (left ankle sprain) is questionable for Thursday’s game against the Pelicans.
Turner did not play in Wednesday’s overtime win over the Celtics, with Isaiah Jackson replacing him in the starting lineup. If Turner remains sidelined, Jackson is undoubtedly worth streaming, but don’t sleep on Obi Toppin. The Pacers are light on options at the center position if Turner can’t play, and Toppin was productive in Wednesday’s win over Boston.
  • NOP Shooting Guard #3
CJ McCollum (right adductor soreness) and Herb Jones (right shoulder strain) will not play in Friday’s game against the Pacers.
McCollum and Jones will miss a second straight game after they were injured during Tuesday’s loss to the Warriors. Jose Alvarado and Jordan Hawkins started Wednesday’s loss to Golden State and should retain those roles on Friday. Hawkins is the better streaming option due to the scoring potential in what should be a high-paced game.
