Ravens declared WR Devontez Walker, WR Elijah Sarratt, CB Chandler Rivers, LB Teddye Buchanan, OG Emery Jones, DT Nnamdi Madubuike, and QB Joe Fagnano inactive for Week 1 against the Colts.

Walker (groin) entered the weekend with a questionable tag, but will be held out of the season opener, while both Madubuike and Buchanan were ruled out on Friday. The Ravens enter Week 1 at near full strength as they prepare to usher in the Jesse Minter era in Baltimore after being led by former head coach John Harbaugh the previous 19 seasons.

Walker has just seven career receptions and converted four of those into touchdowns. The third-year receiver is going to be pushed for the third WR spot on the depth chart by rookies Ja’Kobi Lane and Elijah Sarratt this offseason, but Hensley praised Walker for his ability to stretch the field so far this offseason. We’ll see what happens when pads come on and defenses can actually play coverage against receivers, but it sounds like Walker has gotten off on the right foot with a month to go before training camp.

He cautions that there’s still a possibility the Ravens address the position late in free agency, as Stefon Diggs, Keenan Allen, Deebo Samuel, and DeAndre Hopkins remain available. Still, he has the experience edge over the two rookie receivers and barring an injury stash situation it’s hard to understand the Ravens not keeping two players they just drafted. Considering Lamar Jackson’s history and the potential upside in Declan Doyle’s offense, Walker is an interesting buy in fantasy at this point — it’s just hard to make the case that he’s got a real floor.
  • BAL Wide Receiver #81
Walker scored the first touchdown of the game when Lamar Jackson found him open on fourth down on the first drive of the game. The second-year wideout turned three of his five catches into touchdowns, which is impressive efficiency and impossible to replicate. Walker made a real move up the depth chart in training camp and could possibly compete for a starting job in 2026, especially if the Ravens don’t retain DeAndre Hopkins.
  • BAL Running Back #43
Earlier this week, Ravens head coach John Harbaugh said he hopes to further incorporate RB Keaton Mitchell into the game plan. He has an opportunity to do so here with Hill sidelined by a toe injury. Mitchell should be a decent bench stash down the stretch. Bateman is sidelined by an ankle injury, giving the speedy and unproven WR Devontez Walker a chance to contribute. Mitchell does not need to be in re-draft lineups this week, and Walker does not need to be rostered.

He didn’t practice all week with an ankle injury and should be considered questionable for Week 12 based on this. John Harbaugh said that Devontez Walker would be “the next man up” at the position, and Walker could be a plausible FLEX play based on how much Cleveland focused on stopping Baltimore’s ground game the last time these two teams played.

He got in a DNP on Friday after two limited sessions, perhaps signaling a setback or the Ravens understanding that they can’t push him right now. Walker heads into Baltimore’s bye as a promising player ready for a bigger role in an offense, but also someone who simply can’t do more than limited snaps on a deep Baltimore wideout depth chart.
  • BAL Wide Receiver #81
He got in a full session and is one of the few Ravens that seem likely to play against the defending AFC South champions on Sunday. Walker’s got plenty of upside in a full role, but no path to one that has emerged thus far in his second season for the Ravens. He can be left on fantasy benches in the leagues deep enough to roster him.
  • BAL Wide Receiver #81
Walker spiked for two touchdowns in Week 2 but hasn’t been heard from since. His absence could free up a few more routes for DeAndre Hopkins, but we don’t expect fantasy managers to be crate-digging in the receiver room with Cooper Rush as the starter for Week 5.
  • BAL Wide Receiver #81
Walker’s first score came on a two-yard pass from Lamar Jackson to cap a short offensive drive in the third quarter following a Browns turnover. The second-year receiver would later break free from his defender in the end zone for a 24-yard score, and now boasts a career receiving line of 3-47-3. The former fourth-rounder didn’t play an offensive snap last week, but was credited with 13 offensive snaps against the Browns, per PFF. He played exclusively on special teams in Week 1. This could be nothing more than a flash in the pan, but Walker is an athletic second-year player who was once viewed as a potential high draft pick before slipping to the fourth round in last year’s draft. His snaps will be something to monitor in Week 3 when the Ravens play host to the Lions.

Head coach John Harbaugh told reporters Flowers is expected to be back in a few days but didn’t give any details on the nature of the injury. The Baltimore Banner’s Jonas Shaffer noted that Flowers seemed to be dealing with a leg issue at the end of Tuesday’s practice. Flowers didn’t participate in team drills at the end of the session and then missed all of Wednesday’s practice. It’s likely a precautionary absence, but one worth keeping an eye on for now. Second-year wideout Devontez Walker has reportedly shown well in the first week of camp. He could move up in the pecking order for routes while Flowers is sidelined, giving him some extra run with the ones.

Texans EDGE Jadeveon Clowney (knee) did not participate in Wednesday’s practice.

Clowney was listed as a non-participant as he deals with a knee injury. This could certainly be a precautionary measure for the veteran, but something to monitor for the Texans’ pass-rush rotation heading into Week 2. Dalton Schultz also did not participate, but was listed as having a rest day and should have no concerns for this week’s matchup against the Bengals.

Texans WR Nico Collins (hamstring) was limited in Wednesday’s practice.

Collins popped up on the Texans’ injury report as a limited practice participant Wednesday. It’s unclear if Collins injured it during Week 1 or during practice, but soft tissue injuries tend to pop up as players ease back into the swing of the season. With Jayden Higgins (ACL) out for the season, the Texans will need Kayshon Boutte to step up fast in a banged-up pass-catching group. Also limited was EDGE Will Anderson, though there should be no concerns there as he was listed for rest. Fantasy managers should monitor practice reports later in the week to get a better idea of Collins’ health.

Cardinals TE Trey McBride was seen working off to the side on Wednesday.

This could simply be a veteran rest day after the 26-year-old tight end posted a 9/95/1 receiving line against the Chargers in Week 1. Teams frequently allow star players to sit out during the week’s first official practice. The official injury report should come out soon. Until then, there is no reason to panic.

Chris Jones (calf) was limited in Wednesday’s practice.

Jones was a midweek addition to the injury report ahead of Week 1, though he ultimately played through the knee issue. Despite being limited to roughly half of the snaps on defense, Jones still managed to make an impact by scooping up a Bo Nix fumble. A limited practice on Wednesday shouldn’t be too concerning for his odds of suiting up in Week 2.

Patrick Mahomes (knee) is practicing in full for Week 2 against the Colts.

Rashee Rice (knee) is also practicing in full. Both players underwent offseason knee procedures and had slow ramp-ups during the summer. Both players were active for Week 1 and found the end zone. Mahomes did so on the ground, putting the notion that he would be hampered by the knee issue to rest. The passing attack still looked shaky in Week 1, but there are no health concerns for either player. Mahomes will be a low-end QB1 versus the Colts, and Rice will hold a spot in the WR2 ranks.

Josh Simmons (back) did not practice Wednesday.

Simmons missed the Chiefs’ 2026 opener with the back issue and isn’t likely to suit up this week either. Kahlil Benson, a UDFA rookie, took his spot at left tackle in Week 1. Benson allowed three pressures and was penalized once, but he did not allow a sack and held his own in the run game. He will draw the start in Week 2.

Ravens LT Ronnie Stanley (toe) did not practice on Wednesday.

Ravens LG John Simpson (groin) was also sidelined. Both players are long-time veterans, so hopefully this is more of a maintenance issue than anything else. Losing the left side of the offensive line would make things more challenging for QB Lamar Jackson against the Saints.

Patriots CB Carlton Davis (neck) did not practice on Wednesday.

Neck injuries are concerning. Davis is seemingly in jeopardy of missing his team’s Week 2 game against the Steelers. Hopefully, this is only a minor issue for the veteran cornerback.

Steelers CB Joey Porter (NIR/conditioning) was limited on Wednesday.

Porter’s strange situation continues. The Steelers’ No. 1 cornerback spent August on the active/physically unable to perform list with a back injury. He also spent August pursuing a lucrative contract extension. Porter did not play in Week 1. Steelers coach Mike McCarthy said he increased his workload today, but he is still not guaranteed to play in Week 2.

DeMarvion Overshown (hamstring) is not expected to play in Week 2 against the

The Cowboys are already without fellow starter Malik Hooker because of a broken bone in his wrist. Overshown is expected to miss a week or two with a hamstring strain. After getting decimated by Jaxon Dart in Week 1, the Cowboys will now have to face the Commanders without two of their starters on defense. This is as good as bounce-back spots get for the Washington offense.
