Adonai Mitchell (finger) did not practice Wednesday.

Mitchell hurt his finger late last week and missed New York’s Week 3 game against the Lions. He could miss their Week 4 tilt against the Bears too. With Mitchell sidelined last week, Garrett Wilson had a dominant 49 percent air yards share to go along with 13 targets. Kenyon Sadiq, who had eight targets in Week 3, would once again be viable if Mitchell is sidelined in Week 4.

Patrick Daugherty and Kyle Dvorchak discuss Saquon Barkley's hamstring injury and analyze what the Philadelphia Eagles' backfield would look like if Barkley can't suit up in Week 5.

Mitchell will miss another game with his finger injury and Hall will be sidelined with a quad injury he sustained last week against the Lions. Garrett Wilson, with Mitchell out, should continue dominating air yards and targets in the balanced Jets offense. Braelon Allen will take over as New York’s lead back for now and should be in all fantasy lineups against a suspect Chicago run defense. Kenyon Sadiq has some streaming appeal with Mitchell out.

Mitchell was a DNP in Wednesday’s and Thursday’s practices, so the team’s decision to rule him out on Friday doesn’t come as a surprise. Mitchell will now aim to return in Week 5 against the Browns. Rookie tight end Kenyon Sadiq, who saw a season-high eight targets last week in Mitchell’s absence, will be on the fantasy radar as a fringe TE1 with Mitchell again sidelined.
  • NYJ Wide Receiver #15
It’s trending in the wrong direction for Mitchell’s odds of playing in Week 4. We imagine he’ll get in at least a limited session Friday to see how natural it is for him to catch the football with his injured finger, but he looks headed for the questionable line — at best — against the Bears.
  • NYJ Wide Receiver #15
The Jets took things down to the wire with Mitchell but will ultimately hold him out for at least a week as he works through the finger injury. The Jets are now extremely thin at receiver with first-round rookie Omar Cooper Jr. on IR on top of the Mitchell injury. Isaiah Williams will take over as the team’s No. 2 receiver this week. Also inactive for the Jets are CB Nahshon Wright, TE Mason Taylor, LB Kiko Mauigoa, RB Kene Nwangwu, K Blake Grupe, and S Minkah Fitzpatrick.
  • NYJ Wide Receiver #15
We’ll get official word from the team in a few minutes. If Mitchell is indeed out, Isaiah Williams would step in as the team’s No. 2 receiver. Rookie tight end Kenyon Sadiq would also take on a larger role.

Jets coach Aaron Glenn said Mitchell got his finger caught in a jersey on Thursday, but he shared no further details. ESPN’s Rich Cimini reported that there is “some concern” regarding the injury, and Mitchell was seen practicing with some sort of all-encompassing wrap around his hand, index finger and middle finger. The speedy wide receiver is firmly in the questionable camp. If active, he must be viewed as a boom-bust WR3/FLEX, though this matchup against the Lions is very favorable.
  • NYJ Wide Receiver #15
Mitchell popped up as a limited participant on Thursday’s injury report, and while we don’t have the specifics, Cimini’s report is a bit concerning ahead of Week 3’s game against the Lions. Mitchell popped up for 12 targets in last week’s loss to the Packers and is firmly on the streaming radar against a Lions defense that has struggled out of the gate, but we’ll have to see if he can at least get a questionable tag entering the weekend in order to have any confidence heading into Sunday. Jets head coach Aaron Glenn said Mitchell will be limited in Friday’s practice and that the injury came after his finger got caught in a jersey. We should have a better sense of his availability when the team releases its final injury report later in the day.
  • NYJ Wide Receiver #15
Mitchell was a surprise add to the report on Thursday after practicing in full on Wednesday. It’s a concerning one for the Jets, who figured to build a lot of the passing game around Mitchell, and who have just four healthy wideouts on the roster. We’ll see how this pans out on Friday, but his status is certainly in at least a little jeopardy.
  • NYJ Wide Receiver #15
Mitchell led the Jets in targets while playing 61 of the team’s 74 snaps and running a route on 41 of their 50 dropbacks. Mitchell was also targeted on a deep ball that led to a defensive pass interference call and would have had another 40+ yard completion if it weren’t for a truly impressive play by the Green Bay defensive back. The Jets are getting no push from their offensive line, so the team will likely need to take to the air to use the ball. That figures to be good news for Mitchell, especially next week against a banged-up Lions secondary.
  • NYJ Wide Receiver #15
Picking up where he left off for the Jets last season, only this time with hopefully better quarterback and line play, Mitchell caught a 40-yard pass in the third quarter to set the Jets up in the red zone. His receiving slash wasn’t bad considering the fact Geno Smith dropped back only 24 times in a game the Jets controlled start to finish. They didn’t need to open the offense up, and they very much did not. That should change for Week 2 against the Packers, where Mitchell can be fired up as a boom/bust WR4.

Panthers head coach Dave Canales said he is “hopeful” Jaelan Phillips (hamstring) will be able to play in Week 6 against the Eagles.

Phillips went down with a hamstring injury late in Sunday’s game against the Lions and didn’t return to the field. For a player with Phillips’ injury history, there were immediate concerns regarding the severity of the injury, but with a Week 5 bye on tap, the hope is Phillips won’t miss much time, if any. Phillips has totaled two sacks in his first four games of the season. In addition to Phillips, the team is also hopeful that OT Monroe Freeling (knee) will be able to return in Week 6.

NFL Network’s Ian Rapoport reports Eagles EDGE Jonathan Greenard is considered day-to-day with an ankle injury.

Greenard was downgraded from questionable return to doubtful during last week’s loss to the Rams, but it sounds like he’ll have a chance to suit up in Week 5 against the Jaguars if he’s able to log a few days of practice this week. Greenard missed the first two games of this season due to an oblique injury and has totaled just one tackle on the year.

Eagles head coach Nick Sirianni said he’ll “have more answers Wednesday” on Saquon Barkley’s hamstring injury.

Barkley went down early in Sunday’s loss to the Rams and did not return to the game. NFL Network’s Ian Rapoport said earlier on Monday that Barkley’s injury “does not seem to be overly serious,” but with the Eagles taking on the Jaguars in London next week, it wouldn’t be surprising if he missed at least one game. Backup Tank Bigsby led the Eagles with 55 rushing yards on 14 carries and could be a viable RB2 if Barkley is out.

Steelers coach Mike McCarthy said Derrick Harmon (foot) will be placed on injured reserve.

He’ll be eligible to return in Week 9. Harmon had shown some increased pass rush ability in his four games so far this season and this is a tough loss for the Steelers defense in the short-term.

Ravens coach Jesse Minter said he didn’t know the chances of Lamar Jackson (ankle) playing in Week 5 yet but said he didn’t think “it’s going to be crazy long-term.”

The Ravens didn’t have the results of the imaging yet and punted on a real answer here, meaning we’ll have plenty more updates on Lamar Jackson’s ankle injury as the week goes on. This will probably get a sourced update tonight and, if not, then on Tuesday. Welcome back to LamarWatch, a subsidiary of Rotoworld industries.

Bengals head coach Zac Taylor said Ja’Marr Chase is in concussion protocol.

Chase exited Week 4’s game against the Jaguars with a brain injury and didn’t return to the game. He will now need to clear a series of tests in the coming days if he hopes to be cleared in time to play in the Bengals’ Week 5 game against the Dolphins. Chase caught three passes for 27 yards before leaving Sunday’s game against the Jaguars and has caught 21 passes for 212 yards and three touchdowns this season. If he’s unable to play, Dohnte Meyers, who has seen 14 targets over the last two weeks, could be worth a stash in deeper leagues with Tee Higgins (adductor) also considered day-to-day to start the week.

Bengals coach Zac Taylor said Tee Higgins (adductor) is day-to-day and that the team is not ruling him out for Cincinnati’s Week 5 game against the Dolphins.

Taylor said that the team would see where he is at this week. It sounds like the practice reports will loom large for Higgins ahead of next Sunday’s game. Dohnte Meyers took on a big role in the absence of Ja’Marr Chase (concussion) Sunday and could have even more of a runway if both Higgins and Chase are sidelined this week.

ESPN’s Adam Schefter reports 49ers FB Kyle Juszczyk is expected to miss 2-3 weeks with a sprained knee.

This injury looked like a potential season-ender when it first occurred, so a 2-3 week absence is great news for Juszczyk and the Niners. Assuming this return timeline is accurate, Juszczyk should be able to avoid being placed on injured reserve and could return as early as Week 7, when the Niners visit the Falcons.

Seahawks coach Mike Macdonald said Zach Charbonnet (knee) won’t play in Seattle’s Week 5 game against the 49ers.

Charbonnet’s practice window was opened this past week, and based on Macdonald saying this, it sounds like he’ll be using most of the 21-day window to practice before his return. Macdonald did say that Charbonnet will start receiving team reps in practice this week, perhaps opening a door for a Week 6 return. Emanuel Wilson will head the committee in Seattle until Charbonnet’s return.

ESPN’s Jeremy Fowler reports Broncos CB Patrick Surtain (ankle) is “week-to-week” with one source bracing for him to miss “about two weeks.”

It sounds like this is overall good news for the Broncos, but their defense will take a major short-term hit without one of the best corners in the league. The Broncos, who also lost Riley Moss to a rib injury against the 49ers, will probably have to change some things up next week against the Chargers.
