Chris Godwin (ankle) returned to practice on Thursday.

It will likely go down as a limited session for the veteran wideout, but Godwin should be on track to play in Week 4. The bad news is that he will do so with UDFA rookie Jalon Daniels as his quarterback. Godwin was already off to a slow start, and things aren’t likely to improve with a backup quarterback under center. He is low-wattage FLEX play for Week 4.
Are Browns competitors or contenders now 3-1?
Dan and the Danettes debate if the Cleveland Browns are "competitors or contenders" after their Week 4 win and discuss the heated exchange between Aaron Rodgers and Mike McCarthy.

Godwin was a full participant for two straight days after a Wednesday DNP. The insertion of Jalon Daniels makes him (well, makes every Buccaneers player) hard to trust for Week 4, but Godwin is probably still in the FLEX conversation.
  • TB Wide Receiver #14
Godwin should be expected to play in Week 4 against the Packers at this point, although he has mostly underperformed thus far. Buccaneers OC Zac Robinson said earlier that Godwin Jr. “is a stud and will continue to do his thing. The ball will find him.” That might be harder than one imagines with an undrafted free agent rookie at quarterback.
  • TB Wide Receiver #14
Godwin’s history of lower-leg injuries makes this a little bit concerning. The veteran wide receiver is already set to catch passes from a backup quarterback. If active, he may be playing on an injured ankle. He can only be viewed as a boom-bust FLEX at this time.
  • TB Wide Receiver #14
Godwin had a long touchdown grab called back on a holding penalty in the second half — a deflating moment for the Bucs in their comeback attempt against the elite Minnesota defense. Godwin was third on the team in targets on a low-volume day for the Tampa offense. Godwin, who has ten receptions over three games this year, won’t have much fantasy appeal going forward if Baker Mayfield’s hand/thumb injury proves to be of the long-term variety.

The Bucs main slot receiver saw some early involvement but was invisible for most of the second half as the Bucs pushed the ball downfield. Godwin, who now has 86 yards on seven grabs through two games, is a WR4 option in a struggling Tampa offense. Until Baker Mayfield improves, Godwin should stay on benches in most fantasy formats, especially against the formidable Minnesota defense in Week 3.
  • TB Wide Receiver #14
With sacks and turnovers short-circuiting the Bucs’ offense, Godwin and company were limited to 52 total plays. Godwin was out-targeted 6-4 by Emeka Egbuka, but was on the field for 49-of-57 snaps in Jalen McMillan’s absence. Not that we would expect McMillan to cut into Godwin’s playing time upon his return. One of Godwin’s grabs produced a vicious stiff arm. He’s looking like a legitimate WR3 heading into Week 2 against the Browns.

It’s McMillan, not rookie WR Ted Hurst III, who’s listed as a starter alongside Chris Godwin and Emeka Egbuka ahead of Tampa’s Week 1 game against the Bengals. Hurst, the tallest of the Bucs wideouts, has by all accounts impressed Bucs players and coaches throughout the offseason and should have some kind of role in the team’s passing attack to start the year. It could be a while before Hurst takes on a more prominent role, however. Bucs general manager Jason Licht said last week that Hurst, 22, has “proven to us throughout camp, even OTAs, practice every day that he’s been very, very steady...it’s kind of evolved into okay, we can use him this year and he’s going to play a role.” Hurst can be stashed in deeper fantasy formats for now. McMillan is unlikely to be a factor in the Tampa offense after once again struggling with injuries this offseason.

Fox Sports’ Greg Auman reported the three lead Buccaneers receivers got the day off Tuesday. For Godwin, it is a veteran maintenance day as he aims to open the season fully healthy; expect him to see more maintenance days heading into preseason. Egbuka and McMillan are dealing with lower-body soreness and were held out of practice out of precaution. Ultimately, no major injury concerns as the Bucs play it safe with their top three wideouts in training camp.

With former Buccaneers WR Mike Evans now a 49er, Godwin is the veteran in Tampa Bay’s wide receiver corps. Godwin was leading the NFL with 50 receptions when he fractured his fibula and dislocated his ankle in 2024. It was a significant, season-ending injury that required an intense offseason rehab program, and his lower leg remained an issue for much of 2025. This year, however, Godwin’s offseason has been spent training, not recovering. A solid bounce-back season is within his range of potential outcomes, especially with the targets Evans vacated up for grabs. Godwin is currently the WR40 by PPR ADP. While he may lack the high-end upside he once possessed, that ADP sure looks like decent value.
  • ATL Offensive Coordinator #5
Robinson joined Atlanta two years ago when the team hired Raheem Morris as their head coach. He had previously worked under Sean McVay for five years, working his way up to pass game coordinator for the final two. Robinson started off strong, getting Atlanta to 13th in points scored despite Kirk Cousins struggling in his first year as a Falcon. The switch to Michael Penix in 2025 didn’t go as planned and the team cratered to 24th in scoring. The hope for Baker Mayfield and company will be that Robinson was simply dealt a bad hand in Atlanta. The hiring bodes particularly well for Bucky Irving. Atlanta ranked top-10 in rushing yards in both of Robinson’s seasons with the team.

Jakobi Meyers (thumb) is not on Jacksonville’s final Week 4 injury report.

He should be trusted as a low-end WR3/FLEX play against the Bengals. Meyers has cleared the injury report with this thumb listing three times in three weeks, though he was questionable in Week 2. It clearly isn’t bothering him enough to impact his play.

Texans G Ed Ingram (groin) is questionable for Houston’s Week 4 game against the Cowboys.

He got in a full session today and was limited on Wednesday and Thursday. Ingram is the team’s best run blocker, so it would behoove them greatly for him to be active after two weeks where David Montgomery and Woody Marks were dead on arrival in the backfield.

Dolphins RB Jaylen Wright (foot) was removed from the injury report and will play in Week 4 against the Vikings.

Wright sits atop the Dolphins’ depth chart with De’Von Achane (knee) done for the year. He will likely split touches with new No. 2 running back Ollie Gordon in a very difficult matchup against the Vikings this week. Both players are worth rostering, but they are shaky FLEX starters this week.

Nico Collins (hamstring) is not on Houston’s final Week 4 injury report.

He got in a full session and will escape the line. Collins doesn’t play the same amount of snaps that most of the league’s top wideouts play anyway, so even if he is managed a bit, he can be trusted as a low-end WR1 in what looks to be a smash spot against a bad Cowboys pass defense, though one that is integrating new trade acquisition Joey Porter Jr. against Collins.

Zack Baun (concussion) will not play in Philadelphia’s Week 4 game against the Rams.

Not ideal timing as they gear up to try to stop Kyren Williams and Blake Corum on the ground. Baun did not practice all week and his availability for Week 5 is in some question as things stand. Jeremiah Trotter Jr. will likely get extra reps next to Jihaad Campbell, though Campbell is also questionable with a knee injury.

Chris Bell (knee) was removed from the injury report and will play in Week 4 against the Vikings.

Bell posted a 4/67 receiving line last week, though the Dolphins are still managing his reps. The Vikings’ blitz-based defense poses problems for Miami, limiting Bell to WR4 status this week. The rookie wide receiver should be rostered in 12-team formats.

Will Shipley (foot) is not on Philadelphia’s final injury report for Week 4.

It’s a surprising twist after Shipley missed both of the first two practices of the week; he got in a full session today and seems likely to be more involved as a pass-catcher with DeVonta Smith and Dallas Goedert down. Even with that, he’ll struggle to find FLEX value against the Rams.

Dallas Goedert (knee) will not play in Philadelphia’s Week 4 game against the Rams.

He didn’t practice all week and will again be replaced by the combination of Zach Ertz and Johnny Mundt in Week 4. Neither of those players are particularly appealing options, though Ertz has enough of a history of success and the Eagles are bereft enough of targets to make him a viable TE2.

DeVonta Smith (hamstring) will not play in Philadelphia’s Week 4 game against the Rams.

Smith didn’t practice at all this week and enters Week 5 in a precarious position. Dontayvion Wicks should take over as the team’s No. 1 receiver, and it’s possible Makai Lemon will get more involved as well as the Eagles try to stay above .500 against the Rams.

Brock Bowers (knee) is not on the injury report for Week 4 against the Chiefs.

Bowers was not on the injury report Wednesday and Thursday. The Raiders limited him on Friday. Last week, he logged two limited sessions before sitting out on Friday. The improvement is encouraging, but it is worth mentioning that the team is still managing his reps during each week’s final practice. He should be treated as an elite TE1, as usual.
