Kendre Miller rushed 10 times for 30 yards in the Saints’ Week 5 loss to the Vikings.

Miller led the backfield in carries, giving up three to Alvin Kamara and two to CJ Donaldson. Kamara saw the most targets at two, but Donaldson led the way in snaps. This is a true three-headed monster of a backfield, but Miller has at least settled in as the primary early-down option. With game script likely on his side versus the Giants in Week 6, Miller will be a low-end RB3.

Milles led the Saints backfield in snaps and touches, adding two receptions for zero yards to his 70 scoreless rushing yards. He is the clear lead runner for the Saints and was tackled at the one-yard line on two separate drives, coming up just short of a touchdown to salvage his fantasy day. Miller’s lack of involvement in the passing game caps his fantasy ceiling but rushing volume makes him a low-end RB3 for Week 7 against a solid Steelers defense.

Kamara briefly left the Saints’ Week 4 game against the Falcons to deal with a knee injury. Today, he is sidelined by a back injury. It’s perhaps unsurprising for a 31-year-old player who has clearly lost a step at this point in his career. He is backed up by Kendre Miller and CJ Donaldson. Either player can be stashed in 12-team formats.
  • NO Running Back #3
This is a tough break. The Saints’ high-priced free agent signee will be sidelined for at least four games. Their Week 8 bye makes him eligible to return in Week 9. Veteran RB Alvin Kamara is the next man up, followed by RB Kendre Miller. Both should be rostered in 12-team leagues. Kamara will likely get the first crack at the starting job, but he has struggled to play efficiently this season, and coach Kellen Moore gave RB CJ Donaldson the backfield’s first green zone touch last week.

It’s unclear how much time Etienne will miss, but it wouldn’t be surprising if this became an injured reserve stint. Alvin Kamara could find himself in a more elevated role next week, perhaps with Kendre Miller joining him in a committee. Etienne exited Week 3’s loss to the Raiders with the injury after rushing for 57 yards on 13 carries. It had already been a tough scene for Etienne-reliant fantasy managers this year just based on how the results on the field were going; this won’t help.

Miller dealt with an illness this week, but today’s performance can hardly be called sick. Miller had a chance to carve out a role after Travis Etienne aggravated his hamstring injury, but he didn’t do much with the opportunity. If Etienne cannot play, Miller will be a touchdown-dependent FLEX.
  • NO Running Back #5
He returned to practice today and practiced in full after missing Thursday to an illness. That’s not exactly a guarantee he’ll play; he was a healthy scratch last week behind Alvin Kamara.
  • NO Running Back #5
Illnesses very rarely sideline players on game day, though this is worth tracking. Saints committee leader, RB Travis Etienne, remains limited by a hamstring injury. Saints RB2 Alvin Kamara could log a decent touch count this weekend against the Raiders, though he is a fairly inefficient player at this point.
  • NO Running Back #3
Etienne remains limited, which keeps him in the questionable camp for the Saints’ Week 3 game against the Raiders. Saints RB3 Kendre Miller was sidelined by an illness, but those rarely impact NFL players’ availability on game day. Veteran RB Alvin Kamara should be rostered wherever he is available.
  • NO Running Back #3
Etienne begins the week with a limited session, which is either good or bad, depending on when the injury occurred. If this is a lingering issue from Sunday, Etienne should be considered likely to play. Limited practices early in the week are generally a good sign. However, if he suffered the injury during today’s practice, his Week 3 availability would be in jeopardy. Veteran Saints RB Alvin Kamara would likely get the start, but RB Kendre Miller would be FLEX-viable if Etienne sits.
  • NO Running Back #5
Miller will be a healthy scratch with Alvin Kamara officially back for Week 2. Miller rushed nine times for 30 yards and a touchdown in Week 1 against the Lions, but he looks like the odd man out with the Saints’ top two backs healthy; rookie CJ Donaldson, who contributes on special teams, will serve as the team’s RB3. Miller’s fantasy value is non-existent as long as Kamara and Travis Etienne are both dressing on Sundays.

Divine Deablo (forearm) won’t play in Atlanta’s Week 7 game against the 49ers.

It’s a slight upgrade for Christian McCaffrey, not that you were thinking about not starting McCaffrey anyway. The Falcons also ruled out CB Billy Bowman Jr. (hamstring) — neither player practiced this week.

Buccaneers ruled out Emeka Egbuka (concussion/foot) for Week 7 against the Panthers.

Just minutes after head coach Todd Bowles said the team would list Egbuka as doubtful, the official injury report listed him as out, despite his limited participation in Friday’s practice. Egbuka was unable to clear concussion protocol in time to be active for this week, and will now set his sights on returning in Week 8 in time to face the Falcons.

Brian Robinson Jr. (hamstring) won’t play in Atlanta’s Week 7 game against the 49ers.

Bijan should get a larger-than-usual workload this week against San Francisco. The Falcons only have two running backs on the 53-man roster so it may be Khalil Herbert or Jam Miller filling in as (Bijan) Robinson’s backup on Sunday. Herbert seems like the logical choice.

Sauce Gardner (calf) will not play in Week 7 against the Vikings.

Gardner was never expected to play this week after it was announced on Monday that he would be week-to-week with his calf injury. His absence could be a good sign for Vikings pass-catchers this week in what should be a plus matchup against a Colts defense that ranks 14th in fantasy points allowed to receivers this season. In addition to Gardner, the Colts also ruled out WR Anthony Gould (concussion).

Tyler Warren (groin) will not play in Week 7 against the Vikings.

Warren was a DNP throughout the week and has now been ruled out for this week’s game against the Vikings. This will be the second straight missed game for Warren, who first suffered the injury in last Friday’s practice. The Vikings have allowed the fewest fantasy points to opposing tight ends this season, meaning fantasy managers are best off avoiding Will Mallory and Mo Alie-Cox as streaming options this week.

Buccaneers head coach said Emeka Egbuka (concussion/foot) will be doubtful for Week 7’s game against the Panthers.

Bowles said Egbuka remains in concussion protocol and initially said “I’d say he’s out [for Week 7], too,” before saying the second-year receiver would be listed as doubtful. Fantasy managers holding out hope that Egbuka will suit up for Sunday’s game against the Panthers should ensure their backup plan is in place, as players listed as doubtful seldom end up playing on game day. Assuming he’s out, Ted Hurst could be tasked with operating as the Bucs’ WR1. Hurst has caught 11-of-22 targets for 168 yards and one touchdown this season but wouldn’t be viewed as anything more than a WR3/FLEX play even with Baker Mayfield (thumb) back under center.

Buccaneers head coach Todd Bowles said Baker Mayfield (thumb) “looks like he’s ready to go” for Week 7 against the Panthers.

Mayfield was a full participant in practice all week and should be removed from the team’s final injury report when it’s released later in the day. Mayfield is expected to wear a protective glove on his throwing hand, which should prevent injury to the thumb he dislocated in Week 3, and will be on the QB2 radar in what is a must-win game for the 1-5 Buccaneers. Hopefully he can improve on a rough start to the season in which he threw for 615-2-2 in his first three games while completing 63.5 percent of his passes.

Lamar Jackson (ankle) was spotted at practice on Friday.

This makes three straight practices for Jackson, who continues to trend in the right direction ahead of Week 7’s game against the Bengals. Jackson was listed as a limited participant in each of the first two practices to start the week and should have a good chance of suiting up, even if he’s only listed as a limited participant. We will provide an update on his official status when the team announces it, but this is yet another encouraging sign for the two-time MVP.

Packers head coach Matt LaFleur said Josh Jacobs is on track to play in Week 7 against the Lions.

LaFleur said Jacobs’ Week 7 status depends on how he gets through Friday’s practice. The 28-year-old back has looked “great” in practice this week, per an earlier quote from OC Adam Stenavich, and seems to be trending toward a return after a six-week stay on the Commissioner’s Exempt List. At this point, we would be surprised if Jacobs didn’t play this week against the Lions, but it’s too early to assume he will see his normal workload in his first game back. Even if he doesn’t get a full assortment of touches, we would still expect Jacobs to get enough work to justify starting him at RB2.

NBC Houston’s Aaron Wilson reports David Montgomery (groin) will not play in Week 7 against the Giants.

This will be the second game in a row that Montgomery has missed due to the groin injury he suffered in Week 5. Woody Marks, who totaled 17 touches in last week’s win over the Jaguars will again lead the Texans’ backfield. He has averaged 18.0 touches per game over the last two weeks and will be a volume-based RB2 with a chance at significant upside. Safeties Jalen Pitre (AC joint) and S Reed Blankenship (concussion) will also miss this week’s game against the Giants, putting the Texans down a handful of starters with one game left before their Week 8 bye.
