Saints RB Travis Etienne (hamstring) was limited on Thursday.

Etienne remains limited, which keeps him in the questionable camp for the Saints’ Week 3 game against the Raiders. Saints RB3 Kendre Miller was sidelined by an illness, but those rarely impact NFL players’ availability on game day. Veteran RB Alvin Kamara should be rostered wherever he is available.

Milles led the Saints backfield in snaps and touches, adding two receptions for zero yards to his 70 scoreless rushing yards. He is the clear lead runner for the Saints and was tackled at the one-yard line on two separate drives, coming up just short of a touchdown to salvage his fantasy day. Miller’s lack of involvement in the passing game caps his fantasy ceiling but rushing volume makes him a low-end RB3 for Week 7 against a solid Steelers defense.
  • NO Running Back #41
The Saints deployed a committee backfield once again for Week 6. Kamara was the third running back into the game for the Saints, but was the only one to score a touchdown. He briefly went to the medical tent after falling on his hip in the first half but re-entered the game soon after. Kamara caught a swing pass from Tyler Shough and tip-toed away from the sideline to score from 17 yards out in the third quarter. With that catch, he became the sixth player in NFL history with 5,000 yards receiving and 5,000 yards rushing in his career. Despite the touchdown and milestone, Kamara was still third in running back snaps and is a touchdown-dependent FLEX play for Week 7 against the Steelers.
  • NO Running Back #41
Kamara is active after NFL Network’s Ian Rapoport reported he would be expected to play in Week 6. He played through the back injury last week and is part of a rough running back committee in the Saints backfield. Kamara is in the RB4 ranks for fantasy purposes. Also active is Chris Olave (illness). The Saints declared QB Zach Wilson, EDGE Anfernee Jennings, S Mike Reid, LB Kaden Elliss, DT Nathan Shepherd, and DT John Ridgeway inactive for Week 6 against the Giants.
  • NO Running Back #41
Kamara played through the back issue last week, though he only saw five touches. He has fallen behind Kendre Miller in the pecking order for carries, and even CJ Donaldson is pushing him for work on passing downs. Kamara is barely an RB4 for Week 6.
  • NO Running Back #41
Kamara practiced each day this week, so it’s a bit surprising to see him here. Assuming no rough quotes or reports come out, we’d regard him as on the optimistic side of questionable. He’s a reasonable FLEX play against the Giants.
  • NO Running Back #41
Kamara played through this injury in Week 5, and it doesn’t seem like he’s in any real danger of missing this one. It would be nice to see a full practice on Friday, but even if we don’t get that, Kamara should be a FLEX consideration for Week 6.
  • NO Running Back #41
Kamara played through the back injury last week but only touched the ball five times. Kendre Miller rushed 10 times and CJ Donaldson led the team in snaps. The Saints are likely managing Kamara’s workload as he deals with this back issue. Kamara is not on the fantasy radar for Week 6.
  • NO Running Back #41
He “added” two catches for -6 yards. Kamara rotated with Kendre Miller and CJ Donaldson throughout the game. Donaldson ultimately led the backfield in snaps, while Miller’s 10 carries paced the team. Kamara only touched the ball once in the second half and spent long stretches of the final two quarters on the sidelines with his helmet off. The team was likely managing his reps while he played through a back injury. He was listed as questionable heading into today’s game. As part of a three-man committee, Kamara is barely an RB4 for his Week 6 date with the Giants.
  • NO Running Back #5
Miller led the backfield in carries, giving up three to Alvin Kamara and two to CJ Donaldson. Kamara saw the most targets at two, but Donaldson led the way in snaps. This is a true three-headed monster of a backfield, but Miller has at least settled in as the primary early-down option. With game script likely on his side versus the Giants in Week 6, Miller will be a low-end RB3.
  • NO Running Back #41
Kamara will split work with Kendre Miller and C.J. Donaldson. He projects to lead the group in carries and targets, giving him some RB3 potential. Inactive for the Saints are EDGE Anfernee Jennings, S Mike Reid, LB Kaden Elliss, OL Jeremiah Wright, DL Vernon Broughton, and DL Nathan Shepherd.

NFL Network’s Mike Garafolo reports the Commander hired Steve Wilks “to work with the defensive coaches.”

Wilks won’t be with the Commanders on game days and the team will likely consider him an advisor. Per Garafolo, the decision to hire Wilks was made a month ago and he joined the staff last week. Wilks had been serving as a special assistant at Appalachian State. His last stint in the NFL was as the Jets’ defensive coordinator in 2025.

Sauce Gardner (calf) did not practice Wednesday.

Gardner is considered week-to-week because of the calf strain he suffered in Week 6. He’s not expected to miss an “extended period”, but it’s safe to assume Gardner is out for Week 7. Maybe that will help kickstart the Vikings’ sluggish passing attack, though we doubt it.

Christian Darrisaw (concussion) resumed practicing on Wednesday.

Darrisaw suffered a concussion in Week 4 against the Dolphins and was unable to play in Week 5 against the Saints. The Vikings were on bye in Week 6, giving him more than two weeks to get ready for Week 7. We expect to see him practicing fully this week.

T.J. Hockenson (concussion) resumed practicing on Wednesday.

Hockenson was ruled out in Week 5 against the Saints after suffering a concussion. The Vikings were on bye in Week 6. The extended absence gives Hockenson decent odds of practicing in full this week, and we expect that to be the case. An update will be provided if he is limited today. Hockenson developed a strong connection with Kyler Murray in Week 4, and warrants TE1 treatment in Week 7 against the Colts.

Tyler Warren (groin) did not practice Wednesday.

Warren suffered a groin injury during Friday’s practice last week. He was listed as questionable for Sunday’s game. Though he was reportedly considered a game-time decision over the weekend, the Colts shut him down on Sunday. A DNP today suggests he will miss at least one more game. Keenan Allen led the Colts with eight catches for 82 yards last week. He remains an unfortunately viable PPR scam as long as Warren is out versus the Vikings.

David Montgomery (groin) was not seen practicing on Wednesday.

We were told early last week that Montgomery is week-to-week. Today’s absence suggests he is still week-to-week and will likely be ruled out again on Friday, though we do not know that for sure. We will provide an update before then if his status changes. In the meantime, Woody Marks will get the start again this week, potentially with less touch competition. Jawhar Jordan totaled 50 yards and a touchdown on seven total touches last week, but was surprisingly placed on injured reserve today. Dare Ogunbowale remains a receiving factor, though.

Texans placed Jawhar Jordan on injured reserve.

Jordan was elevated from the practice squad over the weekend and backed up Woody Marks on Sunday. He ran six times for 43 yards and a score. His 25-yard touchdown run was the Texans’ longest rush attempt of the season. The team hasn’t disclosed Jordan’s injury yet, but he will miss at least four games while on IR. Dare Ogunbowale will serve as Houston’s RB2 until David Montgomery is healthy.

Rashee Rice (hamstring) did not practice Wednesday.

Right tackle Jaylon Moore was also held out of practice with a concussion. Rice went down with the hamstring issue in Week 4. Even with a bye week to heal before Week 6, he wasn’t ready to return. A DNP today suggests he will miss at least one more game. Xavier Worthy led the Chiefs with seven catches for 73 yards in his absence last week. He would be in line for another high-usage game if Rice remains out for Week 7’s game against the Seahawks.

Baker Mayfield (thumb) returned to practice Wednesday.

Mayfield hasn’t played since dislocating his thumb in Week 3. As of late last week, he hadn’t even thrown a football since suffering the injury. Todd Bowles told reporters on Monday that he’s preparing for Jalon Daniels to start, but Mayfield’s return to practice puts things up in the air. His practice statuses over the next few days will be telling. For now, fantasy managers should still plan on seeing Daniels under center, but this is a situation to monitor throughout the week.

Adonai Mitchell (finger) was limited in Wednesday’s practice.

Mitchell has missed the past four weeks with a finger injury that required a “small procedure” to fix. Though a limited practice today doesn’t guarantee he will be back for Week 7, it’s a big step in the right direction. Mitchell had nine catches for 123 yards in his first two appearances this year. If he’s able to return this week, he would at least earn a spot on the WR3/4 border versus the Dolphins.
