NFL Network’s Mike Garafolo reports Ja’Kobi Lane (wrist) has “a shot” to play in Week 6.

Ravens head coach Jesse Minter said Lane, who injured his wrist in the season opener against the Colts, will return to practice this week and could suit up this weekend against the Browns. Lane had impressed Ravens coaches and beat writers through training camp and in Week 1 he caught one of three targets for 11 yards before exiting with the wrist injury. Lane’s return to the Baltimore lineup could limit snaps and routes for Rashod Bateman Devontez Walker. Lane should be picked up in 14-team leagues.

Lane underwent surgery to address a fracture in his wrist and will now miss at least four games on short-term injured reserve. He will be eligible to return in Week 6. Ravens No. 1 WR Zay Flowers (hamstring) is also nursing an injury. Theoretically, fellow rookie WR Elijah Sarratt should be active in Week 2 against the Saints, though it is unclear if he would have a meaningful role if Flowers plays.

Lane fractured his wrist in the Ravens’ Week 1 victory over the Colts, catching one pass for 11 yards in his rookie debut. The 22-year-old operated as a top-three receiver in the Ravens offense and was set for a sizeable role prior to the injury. He was seeking multiple opinions on the injury as of Monday, but Zenitz now reports Lane is expected to have surgery on his wrist very soon. Zenitz adds that the hope is for the rookie to be able to return in a month. Injured reserve will be a consideration for Lane, which would be a four-game absence at the minimum.

It was reported Sunday night that Lane was likely to miss several weeks, but on Monday, Minter said Lane could be out a bit longer than expected. The rookie third-rounder caught 1-of-3 targets for 11 yards in his pro debut but was seeing a good amount of work before exiting. Lane’s 24 first-half snaps were the second-most of any Ravens receiver. We’ll likely have a better sense of how long Lane will be sidelined in the coming days.

Garafolo’s colleague, Ian Rapoport, adds that Lane will be sidelined for “several weeks.” This is an unfortunate development for both the player and the team. Fellow Ravens WR Zay Flowers aggravated the hamstring injury he recently rehabbed as well. Expect rookie WR Elijah Sarratt to be active in Week 2 against the Saints.

Lane caught 1-of-3 targets for 11 yards in his pro debut and had a short touchdown overturned in the second quarter on a holding penalty. Lane was seeing significant work in the first half. His 24 first-half snaps, per TruMedia, were good for the second-most among Ravens receivers. We’ll now wait for word on his status ahead of Week 2’s game against the Saints.

Lane, selected with the 80th pick in the 2026 NFL Draft, has wowed coaches and beat writers throughout training camp with highlight contested catches while earning the trust of Lamar Jackson and first-year OC Declan Doyle. Lane, according to The Athletic’s Jeff Zrebiec, has “made a highlight-reel catch, several with one hand, on almost a per-practice basis over the past month.” In a preseason tilt against the Eagles, Lane caught all three of his targets for 38 yards and a touchdown. “This guy is different,” Jackson told reporters afterward. It would be surprising if Lane did not start the regular season as an every-down wideout in the Baltimore offense. His connection with Jackson should instantly make him the team’s No. 2 wideout behind Zay Flowers.
  • BAL Wide Receiver #6
Lane has impressed in camp, and he snagged a 16-yard touchdown from fellow rookie Joe Fagnano for his first score of the season. The 80th pick of last year’s draft, Lane’s 6-foot-4 frame makes him a potential threat inside the 20, and it appears he’s going to get a chance to win the No. 3 receiving job. At the very least, Lane is worth monitoring in deeper formats.

The full quote is a bit winding, but Hensley said, “in 27 years of covering the Ravens, I’m not sure I’ve seen a rookie have a training camp quite like wide receiver Ja’Kobi Lane.” This is high praise, though the qualifying language verges on hyperbolic. Regardless, Hensley adds that Lane “produces a highlight-making catch” every day and teammates are celebrating his successes. The Ravens’ offense generally supported two fantasy-relevant pass catchers under former OC Todd Monken. Repeating the feat with new OC Declan Doyle, whom QB Lamar Jackson is excited about, seems plausible. Could Lane step up and be the No. 2 pass catcher behind WR Zay Flowers? Only time will tell. The team was celebrating Lane’s red zone abilities back in May. Perhaps a FLEX-worthy season is possible.
  • BAL Wide Receiver #6
“This has been an outstanding start to camp for Lane, a third-round pick from USC who has become the team’s No. 3 wide receiver behind Zay Flowers and Rashod Bateman,” writes Hensley. It was expected that Devontez Walker would ascend to the No. 3 receiver role in the offseason, but Lane appears to be pushing for early work in Baltimore. Lane isn’t yet more than a deep-league stab, but with Flowers and Mark Andrews presumably the lead targets in Baltimore, Lane does have some target vacuum runway if he takes hold of a job. He’s one to watch in preseason.
  • BAL Wide Receiver
Lane stands 6'4/200 with 10.5" hands and an 80.75" wingspan. It’s a unique build in the Ravens’ wide receiver corps. Lane is reportedly slated for a perimeter-bound role and will have a chance to establish himself as the team’s second receiver in two-wide receiver sets alongside No. 1 WR Zay Flowers. For Lane to become FLEX-viable in year one, he will have to contend with Ravens TE Mark Andrews and the unit’s newly reinforced depth. That is a tall order for a third-round pick. With fourth-round rookie WR Elijah Sarratt expected to man the slot, Lane may run few fast-developing routes in the open field, making him a potentially volatile producer even in the best-case scenario.

Josh Simmons (back) returned to practice Wednesday.

Simmons has been held out of practice for roughly two months while dealing with a bulging disc in his lower back. Kansas City’s starting left tackle has yet to play a snap this year while dealing with the back injury. Head coach Andy Reid said the team will “ease him back in, but on a limited basis.” There is currently no timetable for when Simmons will return. Undrafted Khalil Benson has been serviceable as the team’s starting left tackle, but Simmons will ultimately be a notable upgrade whenever he returns to action. Benson is still expected to start this week versus the Chargers.

Eagles activated LG Landon Dickerson’s (knee) 21-day practice window.

The Eagles desperately need offensive line health. Dickerson’s return cannot come soon enough. New Eagles C Drew Kendall (knee) was not seen practicing today, though Dickerson has officially resumed practicing in some capacity, which is great news. He was seen taking the field with his teammates this afternoon. The Eagles also opened DB Jakorian Bennett, TE Grant Calcaterra and TE Eli Stowers’ (hamstring/quad) practice windows.

Tyreek Hill’s agent Drew Rosenhaus said he remains in talks with multiple NFL teams, but “nothing is imminent at this time.”

Hill continues to rehab his surgically repaired knee, following a multi-ligament, season-ending injury in 2025, “with the goal of being on a team in the immediate future.” Earlier today, Hill was found “liable for two of 10 counts related to domestic violence and awarded his estranged wife $500,000 in compensatory damages.” He could face a suspension from the league if he signs with an NFL team. Chiefs players recently said they would be in favor of bringing Hill back to Kansas City.

Raiders coach Klint Kubiak said Ashton Jeanty (foot/ankle) is starting to “feel a lot better.”

Kubiak also shot down the idea of the Raiders resting Jeanty for a week, despite it being reported earlier today that the Raiders were considering giving him a week off to recover at some point. Jeanty has been dreadfully inefficient this year, averaging a meager 3.3 yards per carry, though the team’s subpar offensive line also deserves some of the blame. For fantasy purposes, his workload has been the big draw. He is averaging 22 touches per game through five weeks. Even if the foot and ankle injuries continue to bother him, Jeanty has to be treated as a mid-range RB2.

ESPN’s Jeremy Fowler reports that the Vikings “hope” to get Jordan Mason (thumb) back from injured reserve for Week 7 against the Colts.

Late last week, Fowler’s colleague, Kevin Seifert, reported that Mason is expected to return in Week 7 as well. Add him if he is available. Mason is not involved much as a receiver, but his expected rushing workload makes him a reliable FLEX with RB2 upside.

ESPN’s Jeremy Fowler reports that Zach Charbonnet (knee) has a “legitimate chance” to play in Week 7 against the Chiefs.

Charbonnet’s return from ACL surgery has been going well. He is currently practicing with his teammates, though the quick turnaround time for this week’s Thursday Night Football game against the Broncos is too short for Charbonnet to properly ramp up. The Seahawks need a reliable player in the backfield and Charbonnet has coach Mike Macdonald’s trust. He will likely get all he can handle whenever he retakes the field.

Christian Gonzalez (shoulder) said he is “ready” to play in Week 6 against the Jets.

Gonzalez told ESPN’s Mike Reiss that his shoulder is feeling “good” after sitting out in Weeks 4-5 to let it heal. This is an important game for the Patriots (3-2), who currently sit second in the AFC East, one spot ahead of the Jets (2-3). Gonzalez has traveled around the formation, at times covering the slot this season. This week, he will likely be tasked with covering Garrett Wilson.

Bears coach Ben Johnson said Dayo Odeyingbo (quad) will miss Week 6 against the Falcons but will not be placed on injured reserve.

It’s overall a good update for Odeyingbo, even if the veteran defensive end will miss at least one week. The fact that IR was even mentioned does suggest it could be a multi-week absence for him. Odeyingbo has three sacks and two pass breakups this year.

ESPN’s Jeremy Fowler reports that Talanoa Hufanga is expected to miss “about 2-3 weeks” with an ankle injury.

The former second-team All-Pro safety left last week’s game against the Chargers with the injury. Hufanga has been one of the biggest havoc creators in the league this year with one forced fumble and two interceptions, one of which was returned for a touchdown. His absence will be a big blow to the Broncos’ defense, which is already without Patrick Surtain II, Jonathon Cooper, and potentially Riley Moss for their Week 6 matchup against the Seahawks.

Jets coach Aaron Glenn said Adonai Mitchell underwent a “small procedure” on his hand.

Per Glenn, Mitchell remains week to week. This explains the lengthy absence for Mitchell, who hasn’t played since injuring his finger in practice ahead of Week 3. According to Glenn, Mitchell is moving his fingers around well, which is hopefully a sign that he will be back soon. With Omar Cooper Jr.'s practice window now open, Mitchell could return to a rather crowded receiver room once he is healthy.
