Caleb Williams (hamstring) posted a video to social media indicating he will play in Week 6 against the Falcons.

Normally, social media posts don’t count for much. However, earlier today, Bears coach Ben Johnson said that the Bears should have more clarity on Williams’ status by the end of the day, after the medical team put Williams through “the final stress tests” in his return-to-play program. We are inferring that Williams’ social media post suggests he passed the final medical testing, though we have not officially received word that this is indeed the case. For now, we tentatively expect Williams to play on Sunday. He can be treated as a mid-to-low QB1.

Mike Florio recaps the Bengals' win over the Falcons in Madrid, praising Joe Burrow for leveling up in prime time against an Atlanta team that remains too inconsistent.

Williams marched the Bears down the field for a 17-play opening possession touchdown, snapping a 26-game streak in which the Seahawks kept opponents out of the end zone on first possessions in the process. The two teams traded defensive stops for much of the remainder of the first half before the Bears opened the flood gates after the break, vaulting to a 6-2 record and now just half a game behind the Vikings for the lead in the NFC North. Williams’ ball placement was impeccable in this one, the most notable of which came just after the half on three absolute dimes to Rome Odunze for chunk gains. Two surging teams meet in Week 9 when the Bears host the pass-funnel Buccaneers on Sunday Night Football, where Williams will remain a back end QB1.

The enigmatic signal caller also took three sacks, the last of which almost placed the Bears in position to hand the keys to victory to the Patriots. Ben Johnson called a pass play on third-and-five with under two minutes to play in Patriots territory, placing another nod of support toward his franchise quarterback. Things turned dire when Williams took a sack that appeared to take the Bears out of field goal range in a six-point game, with veteran kicker Cairo Santos hitting a career-long 58-yard field goal to dispel the worries. That sequence of two plays displayed Johnson’s unrelenting trust in his players considering the 58-yard field goal was not only the longest of Santos’ 12-year career, but the third longest field goal in Soldier Field history. Either way, Williams and the Bears escaped with the victory and move to 5-2, now 1.5-games behind the Vikings for the division lead in the most competitive division in football. The Bears get a mini-bye ahead of a Week 8 meeting with the Seahawks on Monday Night Football, where Williams will remain a back-end QB1 in fantasy.

Williams was all the way back in this one, returning to action after three weeks on the sideline recovering from a hamstring injury. His only real miss of the day came on a ten yard throw to Colston Loveland that should have been an easy touchdown. Williams tormented the pass-funnel Atlanta defense with middle-of-the-field throws, along with typical out-of-structure passes to the sideline. It was an impressive outing against a Falcons defense giving up the league’s fifth lowest drop back success rate. Williams should remain in lineups in Week 7 against the Patriots.

Williams will make his return to the starting lineup after being sidelined for a few weeks with a hamstring injury while the Bears declared RB Kyle Monangai, CB Tyrique Stevenson, LB T.J. Edwards, LB Keyshaun Elliott, OL Jordan McFadden, DL Jayden Loving, and QB Case Keenum inactive against Atlanta. Monongai’s absence should translate into another big workload for D’Andre Swift, facing a tough Falcons rush defense. Meanwhile, Tyson Bagent will serve as Williams’ backup.

This was expected to be the case but is now confirmed by sources close to the team. Williams returns after missing the previous three games as the Bears look to claw their way back into contention in a crowded NFC North division. Consider it a sizable boost for all Chicago pass catchers.

The Bears are smartly taking a conservative approach with their franchise quarterback. Williams had a limited practice session last week and practiced fully this week. Bears coach Ben Johnson told reporters that the team should have more clarity by the end of the day on whether Williams has passed his return-to-play plan’s final stress tests. Stay tuned.

The Bears’ QB1 is seemingly on track to make his return this week, when his team takes on the Falcons. When speaking to reporters after practice, though, Williams said he does not know if he is going to play yet, adding that he still has a number of tests and protocols to go through before he’s cleared. If active, Williams could end up running a little less frequently than he did early in the year, perhaps playing cautiously in his first game back. Regardless, Williams is a low-end QB1 if he is indeed active.

Technically, Williams was estimated as a full participant ahead of the Bears’ Week 6 game against the Falcons. We’ll see if Williams, who has missed the past three games, practices in full on Thursday. Either way he’s likely to be under center against the pass-funnel Atlanta defense in Week 6. He should be in all lineups if he’s active.

Head coach Ben Johnson said on Sunday that Williams would be “close” to suiting up for Week 6, and he reportedly had a good workout before Week 5’s game against the Packers. Williams has missed the last three games with the hamstring injury he suffered in Week 2, but the Bears have managed to go 2-1 over that span. Williams logged one limited practice last week, after being a DNP on Wednesday and Thursday. If he can get on the practice field multiple days this week, it would be a good sign for his availability for next week’s game against the Falcons.

Why the Bears went through the dog and pony show of labeling Williams as “questionable” when everybody knew he would not be playing, nobody knows. Either way, Williams appears to have a strong chance of returning for Week 6 against the Falcons. Expect another run-heavy game plan, even without Monangai, in what should be the final game of the Tyson Bagent experience for the time being.

Dak Prescott completed 21-of-34 passes for 335 yards and two touchdowns in the Cowboys’ 27-23, Week 9 win over the Colts, adding one yard on two carries.

The two teams played to a maddening field position battle through the first three quarters in what was one of the least disciplined games in recent memory, including a multitude of penalties on key downs, two turnovers, and a missed field goal from the Cowboys. A poor fourth quarter saw the Colts snatch the lead with a late field goal, but a 46-yard deep connection with Ryan Flournoy on the the play of the subsequent possession allowed the Cowboys to take the lead with just over a minute remaining in the fourth quarter. A Caleb Down interception ended the game, allowing Prescott and the Cowboys to escape with a win to send them to 4-5 as they chase the Giants in the NFC East. Up next is a home test against the 49ers in Week 10, where Prescott will remain a back end QB1.

Caleb Douglas caught 6-of-8 targets for 70 yards in the Dolphins’ Week 9 loss to the Lions.

Douglas made several big plays, including a highlight-reel grab in the first quarter that saw him high-point the ball for a 20-yard gain. He also had his fair share of rookie blunders. Douglas dropped a pass on fourth down late in the fourth quarter. Detroit was able to run out the clock after getting the ball back. Douglas was also the intended target on Malik Willis’s lone interception of the day. Willis told reporters after the game that it was the result of a miscommunication between the two. The good news for Douglas is that the Dolphins are in development mode. Growing pains are part of the process and Douglas’s errors shouldn’t cost him playing time going forward. He will be in the WR3 mix when Miami takes on the Colts.

Travis Kelce caught 4-of-6 targets for 72 yards in the Chiefs’ Week 9 win against the Jets, adding a rush for one yard and a touchdown.

Kelce scored on a goal line tush push in the first half. It was a nice little treat for fantasy managers starting the old guy in Week 9. Kelce was second among KC pass catchers in targets, trailing Rashee Rice, who saw seven targets on the day. Kelce remains a reliable floor option in PPR formats. He’s had at least four receptions in five games this season, though his after the catch production has (predictably) cratered. Kelce should be in 12-team league lineups against the Falcons.

Breece Hall had 15 rushes for 61 yards in the Jets’ Week 9 loss to the Chiefs, adding three catches for 26 yards.

Finally returning from his multi-month quad injury, Hall took over as the Jets’ lead back even after Braelon Allen had a nice run as the team’s RB1. Allen ended up with 10 touches on the day, including eight carries. Hall looked spry, dodging would-be tacklers and creating yards after first contact on a handful of his touches. It seems Jets coaches were serious when they said Hall would resume lead back duties upon his return. Hall’s role in the Jets offense should make him a locked-in top-24 option, including next week against the Bills.

Ladd McConkey (back) is questionable to play in Week 9 against the Chargers.

Immediately after the Chargers’ second play from scrimmage, the broadcast booth announced that McConkey experienced back spasms during pre-game warmups, describing the announcement as a “developing” story. It is unclear why this wasn’t announced pre-game, but here we are. Hopefully, McConkey can take the field at some point, but he could end up missing the contest. Stay tuned.

Ken Walker had 18 rushes for 102 yards and a touchdown in the Chiefs’ Week 9 win against the Jets, adding four catches for 41 yards and two touchdowns.

Walker sliced through a low-energy Jets defense time and again in the first half. He was more involved than usual in the pass game, taking over as KC’s primary pass catcher out of the backfield after Emmett Johnson’s big PPR performance in Week 8 against Denver. Walker would have likely had a bigger day if the Chiefs hadn’t benched their starters in the fourth quarter, up my multiple scores. This was Walker’s third multi-touchdown performance of the 2026 season, and it marks the fourth time this season he’s had at least four receptions in a game. Walker will remain a high-end fantasy play in Week 10 against the Falcons.

Puka Nacua caught 14-of-19 targets for 150 yards and one touchdown in the Rams’ Week 9 win over the Commanders.

Nacua was targeted early and often by Matthew Stafford in this one. He caught three-of-four targets for 29 yards on the Rams’ first offensive drive and entered halftime with a 9-86-0 line on 11 targets. Coming out of the half, Nacua immediately caught back-to-back passes of 12 and 15 yards on a drive that ended with a Blake Corum touchdown run, and in the fourth quarter he made an impressive leaping grab for a seven-yard score to put the Rams up 20-13. Nacua has now scored in each of his last three games and has topped 100 yards three times this season. He’s the only reliable target in the Rams’ passing game and will, as usual, profile as a high-end WR1 next week against the Cardinals.

Amon-Ra St. Brown caught 8-of-10 targets for 86 yards in the Lions’ Week 9 win over the Dolphins.

St. Brown was questionable for today’s game with a rib issue. You wouldn’t know it by his usage. He ran circles around the rest of the Lions’ pass-catchers with a 38 percent target share. He led the team in yards from scrimmage and accounted for just shy of half the team’s passing production. St. Brown remains a strong WR1 option ahead of his Week 10 game against the Patriots.
