Caleb Williams (hamstring) is active for Week 6 against the Falcons.

Williams will make his return to the starting lineup after being sidelined for a few weeks with a hamstring injury while the Bears declared RB Kyle Monangai, CB Tyrique Stevenson, LB T.J. Edwards, LB Keyshaun Elliott, OL Jordan McFadden, DL Jayden Loving, and QB Case Keenum inactive against Atlanta. Monongai’s absence should translate into another big workload for D’Andre Swift, facing a tough Falcons rush defense. Meanwhile, Tyson Bagent will serve as Williams’ backup.

This was expected to be the case but is now confirmed by sources close to the team. Williams returns after missing the previous three games as the Bears look to claw their way back into contention in a crowded NFC North division. Consider it a sizable boost for all Chicago pass catchers.

Normally, social media posts don’t count for much. However, earlier today, Bears coach Ben Johnson said that the Bears should have more clarity on Williams’ status by the end of the day, after the medical team put Williams through “the final stress tests” in his return-to-play program. We are inferring that Williams’ social media post suggests he passed the final medical testing, though we have not officially received word that this is indeed the case. For now, we tentatively expect Williams to play on Sunday. He can be treated as a mid-to-low QB1.

The Bears are smartly taking a conservative approach with their franchise quarterback. Williams had a limited practice session last week and practiced fully this week. Bears coach Ben Johnson told reporters that the team should have more clarity by the end of the day on whether Williams has passed his return-to-play plan’s final stress tests. Stay tuned.

The Bears’ QB1 is seemingly on track to make his return this week, when his team takes on the Falcons. When speaking to reporters after practice, though, Williams said he does not know if he is going to play yet, adding that he still has a number of tests and protocols to go through before he’s cleared. If active, Williams could end up running a little less frequently than he did early in the year, perhaps playing cautiously in his first game back. Regardless, Williams is a low-end QB1 if he is indeed active.
  • CHI Quarterback #18
Technically, Williams was estimated as a full participant ahead of the Bears’ Week 6 game against the Falcons. We’ll see if Williams, who has missed the past three games, practices in full on Thursday. Either way he’s likely to be under center against the pass-funnel Atlanta defense in Week 6. He should be in all lineups if he’s active.
  • CHI Quarterback #18
Head coach Ben Johnson said on Sunday that Williams would be “close” to suiting up for Week 6, and he reportedly had a good workout before Week 5’s game against the Packers. Williams has missed the last three games with the hamstring injury he suffered in Week 2, but the Bears have managed to go 2-1 over that span. Williams logged one limited practice last week, after being a DNP on Wednesday and Thursday. If he can get on the practice field multiple days this week, it would be a good sign for his availability for next week’s game against the Falcons.
  • CHI Quarterback #18
Why the Bears went through the dog and pony show of labeling Williams as “questionable” when everybody knew he would not be playing, nobody knows. Either way, Williams appears to have a strong chance of returning for Week 6 against the Falcons. Expect another run-heavy game plan, even without Monangai, in what should be the final game of the Tyson Bagent experience for the time being.
  • CHI Quarterback #18
Williams is technically listed as questionable for Week 5 versus the Packers, but Tyson Bagent is fully expected to make the start. Still, Williams’ return to practice on Friday was a pleasant surprise for Bears fans. If all goes well in practice next week, he could return after missing just three games, which was on the short end of his projected timeline.
  • CHI Quarterback #18
Bears coach Ben Johnson told reporters on Monday that Tyson Bagent will start against the Packers this week. Fast forward a few days and the odds have changed slightly. Williams did a little throwing, practicing in a limited capacity today, and is progressing through his rehab plan. That said, ESPN’s Jeremy Fowler reports that Bagent will “most likely” get the start. We expect that to be the case. Regardless, make sure Williams is rostered in 12-team formats.
  • CHI Quarterback #18
The Bears have a progression plan in place for Williams’ rehab, and per Johnson, the star quarterback is “right on track.” Williams resumed throwing “a little bit the other day.” Although the team does not yet know when Williams will retake the field on game day, they have set up a series of benchmarks for him to hit. Their Week 7 Thursday Night Football game could complicate things. Bringing Williams back in Week 6 would give him a short turnaround, and he could be sore after his first game back. Expect them to handle this cautiously. The Bears currently sit in second in the NFC North with a 3-1 record.

Chris Rodriguez rushed 11 times for 55 yards in Jacksonville’s Week 6 loss to the Texans.

He failed to catch his only target. Rodriguez was churning out success rate on the regular in the first half. The Jaguars curiously went away from him in the second half, as he played just 21-of-70 snaps and had only one carry after halftime. He’s not a must-hold through the bye week, but this game is the proof-of-concept that he can be an effective weapon for the Jaguars if they want to use him as a between-the-tackles pounder.

Romeo Doubs injured his shoulder in the Patriots’ Week 6 game against the Jets and is questionable to return.

Doubs landed hard on his shoulder on his first reception, which just happened to be a 42-yard touchdown where he broke free along the back line of the defense. Most unfortunate, though he at least tallied the score first. Doubs was evaluated in the blue tent before heading to the locker room. Perhaps he will return, but he is probably on the wrong side of questionable. It’s bad news for the Pats and fantasy managers, but at least comes as A.J. Brown is back in the lineup for the first time in five weeks.

Carson Steele left Week 6 against the Panthers with a shoulder injury.

Steele caught a screen pass in the flats and lowered his head to try and run over the defender. He came up holding his shoulder and had to have the shoulder immobilized as he walked into the locker room with his pads off. It had the look of a dislocation, which would mean Dameon Pierce and Jaydon Blue are the only two healthy running backs for the Eagles.

Bhayshul Tuten rushed 12 times for 39 yards in Jacksonville’s Week 6 loss to the Texans, adding four catches for 48 yards and two touchdowns on his only four targets.

The Jaguars looked like they were in control with their run game early in this one, but Tuten sputtered out in the second half, where he managed just six carries for 18 yards with the Jaguars curiously going away from Chris Rodriguez Jr. Tuten played 40-of-72 snaps with Rodriguez having a big day on the ground. It feels good that his “down” games are like this, and he also had a rushing touchdown pulled off the board after what appeared to be a phantom holding flag was thrown. Tuten enters the Week 7 bye as an RB2.

Trevor Lawrence completed 24-of-41 passes for 306 yards, four touchdowns and one interception in Jacksonville’s 34-31, Week 6 loss to the Texans.

It could have been more, had Liam Coen not settled for a game-tying field goal on fourth-and-short with less than four minutes left in the game. It also could have been more had Lawrence not thrown an end-zone pick to Calen Bullock. At the end of the day, the screen day was dealing and Lawrence was hitting all sorts of in-breakers against a beleaguered Texans secondary. He enters the bye week as a sure-fire QB1 with 1,174 passing yards and 10 throwing touchdowns in his first five games. Last year’s rushing touchdowns appear to have vanished as the Jaguars have gotten better in the red zone, but Lawrence is still playing exceptional football.

Foster Moreau caught 2-of-2 targets for seven yards and two touchdowns in Houston’s Week 6 win over the Jaguars.

Sure. One of them was even a beautiful one-handed snag as the game drew near halftime. Moreau out-paced Dalton Schultz (4-of-6 targets, 33 yards) in the fantasy streets even if not on the snap count spreadsheets. You know better than to chase the low-snap high-touchdown outlier.

Marvin Harrison Jr. caught 3-of-4 targets for 34 yards in Houston’s Week 6 win over the Jaguars.

It tied his season-high for receptions in four games with Arizona. Harrison played just 12 snaps. The Texans do seem dedicated to giving him the ball — as you’d hope after he was acquired for a second-round pick — and we imagine he’ll be in the FLEX conversation next week against the Giants after a full week to hone trust with the coaching staff. His first two catches were on in-breaking routes.

Nico Collins caught 3-of-5 targets for 76 yards in Houston’s Week 6 win over the Jaguars.

He added a long defensive pass interference penalty drawn on Travis Hunter to set up Houston’s second third-quarter touchdown. Collins also took an end around in the red zone for five rushing yards. Close, but ultimately not the line that fantasy managers were hoping for. Collins will remain in the low-end WR1 region against the Giants in Week 7.

Jaylin Noel caught 4-of-4 passes for 107 yards and a touchdown in Houston’s Week 6 win over the Jaguars.

Noel has scored in all of Houston’s wins this year; that’s analytics. The underlying numbers are more annoying — he played 31-of-63 snaps and was not one of Houston’s top targets in what has been a frustrating room. Still, it’s very clear he’s the second-most talented player in this receiving corps, even if Marvin Harrison Jr. is cutting in. Noel has some FLEX viability in Week 7 against the Giants.

Jawhar Jordan rushed six times for 43 yards and a touchdown in Houston’s Week 6 win over the Jaguars, adding a seven-yard reception on his only target.

Jordan had a huge cutback lane in the third quarter and took it 25 yards while breaking a Jarrian Jones tackle for his touchdown. He played just 14-of-63 snaps, but clearly brought more juice than Woody Marks in the run game and it wouldn’t be a total surprise if that total grew next week with David Montgomery (groin) expected to remain sidelined. Jordan is likely just a FLEX play against the Giants in Week 7.
