    Colts released WR Darius Slayton.

Slayton signed with the Colts less than a month ago but never suited up for the team on game day. The 29-year-old speedster was briefly considered as a candidate to replace Alec Pierce (foot), but he’s once again on the open market in search of work. A knee injury resulted in Slayton being scratched from Week 5’s matchup against the Steelers, so it’s possible he’ll have to prove he’s healthy before signing elsewhere this season.
What Rams WR will make up for the loss of Adams?
With Davante Adams missing between 6 and 10 weeks with a hamstring injury, Patrick Daugherty and Denny Carter discuss what other Rams' wide receivers could be good fantasy roster replacements.

Slayton was listed as questionable after injuring his knee during practice on Friday. He’s since been ruled out, postponing his Colts debut for another week. Nick Westbrook-Ikene has been elevated from the Colts’ practice squad.

The Colts are banged up at wide receiver and ESPN’s Stephen Holder believes this might have been the week the Colts finally got Slayton involved. He suffered a knee injury in Friday’s practice, though. He does not need to be rostered in 12-team formats.
  • IND Wide Receiver #18
The seven-year veteran was released by the Giants prior to the start of the regular season, now landing on his feet in Indianapolis to presumably fill in for the injured Alec Pierce. Pierce recently re-injured the heel he had offseason surgery on and will miss an undetermined number of games. Slayton brings a similar, field-stretching archetype to a Colts team in desperate need of someone to elongate the middle of the field. It remains most likely that Josh Downs steps into the featured role through the air.
  • FA Wide Receiver #18
The longest-tenured Giants player is now in search of a new home after the team opted to release the 29-year-old receiver on Monday. Slayton was reportedly at risk of not making the initial 53-man roster out of camp, but survived the initial cuts only to be released a week later. During his seven seasons with the Giants, Slayton totaled 296 receptions for 4,435 yards and 22 touchdowns while serving primarily as a field stretcher. He posted four seasons of 724 or more receiving yards and had an impressive rookie campaign when he went for 48-740-8 as a rookie fifth-rounder out of Auburn. Slayton should have no trouble finding a new home in the coming days, but it may take some time before he’s back to seeing the field in a meaningful capacity.
  • NYG Wide Receiver #18
Slayton will likely miss all of the early offseason program leading up to camp. His absence could give rookie wideout Malachi Fields more reps with the first-team offense. Free agent addition Darnell Mooney will likely run with the ones as well. Slayton has been a consistent deep threat for the Giants since being drafted in 2019, but the team’s moves at wideout this offseason suggest a smaller role is likely for the veteran wideout.
  • NYG Wide Receiver #18
Slayton had a huge 72-yard touchdown catch called back due to an offensive pass interference penalty that didn’t seem necessary. He will end the season with 37 catches on 63 targets for 538 yards and one touchdown in 14 games. Slayton is under contract for one more season, but the Giants can opt out of it if they want to take on $3 million in dead cap space. It’s more likely that Slayton remains as the team’s deep threat in 2026.
  • NYG Wide Receiver #17
Robinson enters free agency off his first career 1,000-yard season, shedding his label as a quick-game only option by setting a career-high with 11.0 yards per reception. He turns 25 in a few days and will be one of the premiere free agents at wideout to hit the market if the Giants don’t tag him or otherwise extend him. The final seasonal line will be 92/1014/4 for Robinson, and his absence leaves Darius Slayton as a fine FLEX play in Week 18.
  • NYG Wide Receiver #18
Slayton lined up in the slot on the Giants’ fourth drive, got open on a corner route and hauled in a pass from QB Jaxson Dart that netted him 18 yards. Unfortunately, Slayton had to backpedal to nab the ball and ultimately fell over after securing the pass. He was quickly touched down by a Raiders defender. Slayton earned an end zone target from nine yards out on the following drive, but a Raiders defender successfully contested the catch in the air. Slayton is just a boom-bust FLEX against the Cowboys next week.
  • NYG Wide Receiver #18
Slayton saw 10 targets last week and went for 53 yards on four grabs. He failed to repeat the solid performance and instead committed yet another drop. His hands have been a liability all year and his latest drop could result in less playing time next week. He isn’t on the fantasy radar heading into Week 17.
  • NYG Wide Receiver #18
Slayton hauled in a 19-yard connection with Jaxson Dart, but the rest of the connections were of the shorter variety. Double-digit targets is nice, doing something with them would a lot nicer. He’ll be back at it in Week 16 against the Vikings, and he’s nothing more than FLEX play — at best — for that contest.

Colts signed P Thomas Morstead to the practice squad.

Morstead spent 12 years punting for the Saints before making stops with the Jets, Falcons, Dolphins, and 49ers over the last five seasons. The 40-year-old veteran averaged 43.6 yards per punt for San Francisco last year. Current Colts punter Rigoberto Sanchez was injured during a blocked punt in the Colts’ Week 6 loss to the Titans. Morstead joins the Colts’ practice squad as insurance in case Sanchez cannot play Week 7 against the Vikings.

ESPN’s Adam Schefter reports Terrance Ferguson (ankle) “will take some time” to come off injured reserve.

Ferguson is eligible to come off injured reserve next week, but Schefter reports that a source told him Ferguson’s recovery “will take some time.” The Rams placed Davante Adams on injured reserve this week and are in desperate need of pass-catching help behind Puka Nacua. Ferguson is a rising receiving tight end for the Rams, but has been on injured reserve since suffering an ankle injury in Week 3. Though he is a good IR stash for fantasy purposes, Ferguson is going to take longer than the minimum four weeks to return. Without a good timeline for return, he can be released from fantasy rosters in dire need of more immediate help during bye weeks.

Patriots CB Carlton Davis (neck) was limited in Tuesday’s practice.

It was an upgrade from an estimated Monday DNP. Davis has missed Week 2, Week 3, Week 5 and Week 6 to the neck listing so far. Perhaps he’ll try to give it a go on Thursday night, but we’d be surprised if he did better than a questionable tag on Wednesday.

TreVeyon Henderson (ankle) practiced in full on Tuesday.

It’s been a stunningly quick recovery from what looked to be a high-ankle sprain that could sideline him. Henderson has practiced in full both days this week. We’re not concerned that he won’t play, but after fumble problems struck last week and Corey Kiner closed out the Jets in the fourth quarter, we do have slightly lowered expectations for his Thursday night stat line.

A.J. Brown (ankle) was limited in Tuesday’s practice.

Brown spoke with the media today and there’s no reason to believe he’ll actually miss this game, but he was regarded as “limited” in both sessions this week and it’s fair to wonder if he’s 100 percent just yet after his drop-filled, rough Week 6. He’s best-treated as a WR2 this week — you’re still probably starting him regardless of what the ranking is.

Patriots coach Mike Vrabel said Alijah Vera-Tucker (hamstring) and Ben Brown (knee) are unlikely to play on Thursday night.

Matt Pryor and Walter Rouse stepped in for the two guards towards the end of last week’s offensive line apocalypse and would likely be in line to start in Week 7. Neither Vera-Tucker nor Brown practiced on Monday or Tuesday.

Jonah Jackson (hip/quad) was limited in Tuesday’s practice.

Jackson left Sunday’s game with the injury, playing 64.9 percent of the snaps with Luke Newman spelling him. This is a good sign for his availability for Week 7 after Jackson did not practice on Monday, but he’s likely trending towards a questionable tag without a full listing on Wednesday.

Kyle Monangai (thumb/toe) did not practice on Tuesday.

He hasn’t practiced yet this week and appears very unlikely to go on Thursday night. It would seem to be trending towards another week with Roschon Johnson as the backup runner for the Bears.

Jordan Schultz reports teams seeking wideout help believe Hollywood Brown could be traded in the coming weeks.

Brown had two rushes for 12 yards against the Titans in Week 2 (not receptions) and has been inactive in every other week of the season. So, yeah, we guess he could be had. As could any of the several veteran receivers on losing teams who actually have caught a pass this year.

Eagles signed RB Eljiah Mitchell to their practice squad.

This time, they mean it. Mitchell has a decent chance to be elevated for Week 7 based on what we know today, which is that the Eagles waived Ian Wheeler from the practice squad and have only Saquon Barkley and Dameon Pierce on the active roster. This appears to be quite a fluid situation.
