Jaylen Waddle (chest) was limited in Wednesday’s practice.

Waddle briefly exited the Broncos’ Week 6 win over the Seahawks before returning to the game. He now pops up on the practice report as a limited participant on Wednesday with a chest injury. Waddle is not in jeopardy of missing time just yet, but his poor fantasy production to start the season makes him a volatile fantasy option for Week 7 against the Cardinals.
Maye performed well despite interception
Michael Holley believes Drake Maye performed really well and "made some incredible throws," despite throwing a crucial interception in the red zone which gave the Chicago Bears an edge over the New England Patriots.

The Broncos’ big-name offseason acquisition has totaled more than 35 yards just once all year, and now he has a chest injury. Waddle is on track to play, and he faces a beatable Cardinals pass defense this week, but he can only be treated as a FLEX starter at this time.
  • DEN Wide Receiver #17
Waddle departed in the third quarter and was deemed questionable to return with a shoulder injury but made his way back to the field in the fourth quarter, catching two additional passes in the final frame. He ended with four receptions for 24 yards on seven targets and has quickly become a difficult weekly start in fantasy circles. An enticing matchup against the Cardinals in Week 7 is sure to give fantasy managers a hint of potential, but if he fails again to return a usable fantasy week, it might be time to reconsider entering him in weekly lineups.

Waddle departed early in the third quarter and was quickly deemed questionable to return with a shoulder injury. It is unclear when the injury occurred. Waddle managed to catch just 2-of-5 targets for 15 yards prior to departing, keeping his usable weeks total at just two games through the first six weeks of the 2026 season. Fantasy managers that invested a fourth-round pick on the veteran wide receiver have got to begin to make alternate plans at wide receiver moving forward.

Give some credit to the Chargers’ defense, but this was an ugly game for both passing attacks. Waddle has his second dud in three weeks, and doesn’t appear to have great chemistry with Bo Nix thus far. No one really does, to be fair, as no receiver caught more than four passes for Denver. Waddle is a volatile WR2, and that volatility becomes more, well, volatile for Week 6 against the Seahawks.
  • DEN Wide Receiver #17
Waddle was invisible for much of the game until a late red zone touchdown with the Broncos in up-tempo catch-up mode. It was his first touchdown reception as a Bronco. Waddle, who now has three down games in his first four contests as the Broncos’ nominal WR1, will probably struggle until Denver OC Davis Webb figures out how to maximize his personnel, including the struggling Bo Nix. Against the 49ers Waddle was targeted on a meager 16 percent of his routes. Hopefully that rate will rise in Week 5 against the Chargers.

Waddle gave folks a fright, sporting a walking boot after the Broncos’ Week 3 win over the Rams. He practiced in full all week, though, so there are no concerns about his availability. Waddle is a WR2 against the 49ers in what should be a fantasy-friendly game environment.
  • DEN Wide Receiver #17
Waddle was spotted in a boot after Week 3’s win over the Rams. DNVR’s Zac Stevens reported at the time that he was fine and can comfortably take a victory lap now that Payton has said he practiced in full. Waddle posted a dud in Week 3 with two catches for 10 yards, but he ripped off 138 yards the week before that. The production might come in peaks and valleys, but fantasy managers should hold the line and treat him like a WR2 for a potential shootout with the 49ers this week.

Waddle was spotted in a walking boot after the Broncos’ Sunday night win, prompting speculation over his status. Jane reports that Waddle is “fine” while beat reporter Zac Stevens said a source told him “there’s nothing wrong” with the 27-year-old wideout. The boot certainly could have been a precautionary measure but we will wait for Wednesday’s practice report to find out if Waddle is truly dealing with an injury.

Waddle would also add a successful two-point reception in the third quarter to give him a slight boost in counting stats, although the 6.4-point effort left fantasy managers in desperate need of better production from their fourth-round selection in fantasy drafts. Waddle has now sandwiched poor fantasy outings with one usable game through three weeks. Fantasy managers are likely left to ride out the struggles of the Denver offense in hopes of greener pastures, which could come in a Week 4 showdown with the 49ers. Treat Waddle as an upside WR3, at present.
  • DEN Wide Receiver #17
Waddle was targeted on an obscene 42 percent of his pass routes against the Jaguars. He came up a yard short of a long touchdown in the first half and easily led all Denver pass catchers with ten looks from Bo Nix. Broncos OC Davis Webb’s insistence on force feeding Waddle makes the wideout too big to fail in the balanced Denver offense. Despite a letdown of a Week 1 performance against KC, Waddle should be locked into lineups until further notice. He’ll be a top-20 player in Week 3 against the Rams.

FOX59’s Tyler Haughn reports Colts QB Anthony Richardson was charged with misdemeanor possession of marijuana earlier this week.

According to reports, Richardson was stopped on October 12th for having a registration on his car that had expired and was assigned to a different vehicle. The officer reported noticing the “odor of marijuana” coming from Richardson’s car, and the former first-round pick admitted to smoking in the car; a “small mason jar containing a substance believed to be marijuana and an opened bag of THC-infused gummies” were found in his vehicle during a search. Richardson is scheduled to have a bench trial on January 4th, 2027. While the NFL no longer suspends players for testing positive for THC, it’s possible Richardson faces some kind of penalty from the league with this being a legal issue.

NFL Network’s Ian Rapoport reports Cole Kmet will undergo additional tests on his knee after Week 7’s win over the Patriots.

Head coach Ben Johnson said after the game that Kmet’s injury “looked very good,” breaking from his normal tendency to avoid talking about injuries. Kmet’s knee buckled from under him in the fourth quarter of Thursday’s game, and he had to be carted from the field after the play. This looked like a potential season-ender when it happened, but tests will confirm the severity of it in the near future. Kmet’s absence could open up more opportunities for Colston Loveland, who has caught 26 passes for 244 yards and two touchdowns this season.

Rico Dowdle (knee) is questionable for Week 7 against the Saints.

Dowdle was listed as limited throughout the week and will officially be questionable entering this week’s game with the Saints. This is a new injury he is dealing with but it doesn’t sound like he’s at serious risk of missing the game at this time. Dowdle played on just 17 percent of snaps in his return to action last week and saw 11 opportunities. He’ll profile as a low-end RB3 this week if active.

Jaguars OL Anton Harrison was revealed to have a torn ACL, ending his season.

Surgeons discovered Harrison suffered a torn ACL while performing knee surgery on him Thursday. The 23-year-old lineman will now be placed on season-ending IR, with hopes of returning in time for training camp next season. Harrison allowed just 13 pressures and two sacks in five games this season, earning a PFF pass-blocking grade of 67.2. Walker Little, who took over in Harrison’s absence, started last week against the Texans and will assume the starting left tackle role going forward.

Rome Odunze caught 4-of-5 targets for 69 yards in the Bears’ Week 7 win over the Patriots.

The yardage total goes down as Odunze’s second highest mark of the season as the third-year receiver was held out of the end zone for the seventh straight game to start the 2026 season. He did make three massive catches on third downs to help extend drives, making his mark felt more with quality than quantity. That doesn’t necessarily benefit fantasy managers that chased his big play abilities this offseason as Odunze has largely been a fantasy dud outside of the Week four win over the Jets in which he returned 15.4 PPR points. He remains best left on fantasy benches ahead of another difficult test against the Seahawks in Week 8.

Colston Loveland caught 7-of-12 targets for 69 yards and a touchdown in the Bears’ Week 7 win over the Patriots.

Loveland found himself dancing in the end zone for the second consecutive week when he muscled his way in for a score from 12 yards out in the third quarter. The team-leading 12 targets also came on only 33 Caleb Williams pass attempts, with no other player on the team recording more than five targets to their ledger. Furthermore, backup tight end Cole Kmet departed in the fourth quarter with an apparently serious knee injury as he had to be carted off the field, potentially setting Loveland up for more consistent volume moving forward. Loveland finally appears to be making good on his lofty draft capital from the summer after returning fantasy TE1 weeks in two straight games, something managers hope will continue in another difficult matchup on paper against the Seahawks on Monday Night Football in Week 8.

Luther Burden caught all four targets for 130 yards and a touchdown in the Bears’ Week 7 win over the Patriots, adding seven yards on one carry.

Burden erupted on the scene with a 58-yard, catch-and-run reception on a crosser in the first quarter to set up a four-yard score for D’Andre Swift. He would tack on another 24 yards and his touchdown late in the second quarter to push him over the century mark in yards on an improbable touchdown reception, taking a quick screen to the house on third-and-17 with only 14 seconds remaining before the break. Burden would largely fall victim to a more reserved offensive stance after the Bears pushed their lead to 13 points on their first possession of the second half, adding just one additional reception in the final 30 minutes of play. That matters not to fantasy managers that had been waiting for a marquee performance from a player they chased up draft boards this summer. Burden appears to be heating up now further removed from the offseason injury he carried into the start of the regular season and can continue to be started as an upside WR2 ahead of a difficult matchup against the Seahawks in Week 8.

D’Andre Swift rushed 22 times for 78 yards and a touchdown in the Bears’ Week 7 win over the Patriots, adding 12 yards on four receptions.

Swift shook off an early injury scare when he took a helmet directly to his knee to earn a season-high 26 opportunities in the absence of Kyle Monangai. This game had an entirely different feel than the previous game played without Monangai, during which Roschon Johnson was much more involved in a game the Bears held at 31-7 lead in the fourth quarter. The back-and-forth nature of Week 7 kept Swift on the field for more of the game, allowing him to return a legitimate RB1 performance on the backs of elite volume. Monangai could return as early as Week 8 considering the Bears now have 10 days until they play the Seahawks on Monday Night Football, potentially sending Swift back into the RB2 range in fantasy circles.

Caleb Williams completed 22-of-33 passes for 308 yards and two touchdowns in the Bears’ 30-24, Week 7 win over the Patriots, adding 18 yards on five carries.

The enigmatic signal caller also took three sacks, the last of which almost placed the Bears in position to hand the keys to victory to the Patriots. Ben Johnson called a pass play on third-and-five with under two minutes to play in Patriots territory, placing another nod of support toward his franchise quarterback. Things turned dire when Williams took a sack that appeared to take the Bears out of field goal range in a six-point game, with veteran kicker Cairo Santos hitting a career-long 58-yard field goal to dispel the worries. That sequence of two plays displayed Johnson’s unrelenting trust in his players considering the 58-yard field goal was not only the longest of Santos’ 12-year career, but the third longest field goal in Soldier Field history. Either way, Williams and the Bears escaped with the victory and move to 5-2, now 1.5-games behind the Vikings for the division lead in the most competitive division in football. The Bears get a mini-bye ahead of a Week 8 meeting with the Seahawks on Monday Night Football, where Williams will remain a back-end QB1 in fantasy.

DeMario Douglas caught 3-of-4 targets for 23 yards in the Patriots’ Week 7 loss to the Bears.

The magic of the previous two games quickly evaporated for the diminutive slot receiver as Hunter Henry and Rhamondre Stevenson stepped into the primary security blanket role for Drake Maye, the latter of whom faced consistent pressure from the aggressive Dennis Allen Bears defense. Starting Douglas on a weekly basis is akin to reaching your hand into a brown paper bag found on the side of the road. It feels exhilarating at the time but you never know what you’re going to get.
