Mike Gesicki caught his lone target for six yards and a touchdown in the Bengals’ Week 7 win over the Ravens.

Gesicki’s lone target came on an end zone target from Joe Burrow that resulted in a six-yard touchdown. The 31-year-old tight end has now scored in all five games he has appeared in this season, but has managed just 10 yards on two receptions in his last two games. Fellow tight ends Erick All and Drew Sample combined to catch five passes for 45 yards and one touchdown on five targets. Gesicki has run 15 routes in each of his last two games and is purely a touchdown-dependent option in Week 8 against the Titans.
Hubbard remains a locked-in top-12 fantasy RB
Chuba Hubbard rushed for 81 yards and a touchdown on 22 carries and added 38 yards on seven receptions against the Packers, reinforcing his status as a locked-in top-12 fantasy running back going forward.

The Bengals utilized all of their tight ends against the Dolphins, with Gesicki catching just one pass on the day. His sole reception was a touchdown on the Bengals’ opening drive, totaling four on the season and salvaging some fantasy value for those who streamed him at tight end this week. Gesicki’s value is lowered when Ja’Marr Chase and Tee Higgins are active; his red zone utilization makes Gesicki a low-end fantasy TE2 heading into the Bengals’ Week 6 bye.

Gesicki caught a third quarter touchdown against the Jaguars, his third score of the year. He saw just five targets on a day where Joe Burrow threw 54 passes and Ja’Marr Chase (concussion) exited early. However, Gesicki has a clear red zone role and he led all Bengals tight ends in snaps on the day. If Chase and Tee Higgins (adductor) miss any time, Gesicki is a tight end streaming option for Week 5.

After going without a target last week, Gesicki made the most of his three targets in this one. His most notable reception came in the fourth quarter on a fourth-and-two when he broke free across the middle of the field for a wide-open 25-yard touchdown to put the Bengals up 27-24. Gesicki has now scored in two of his first three games this season, but is averaging just 3.3 targets per game. Fantasy managers should be rushing to add him to their lineups for next week’s game against the Jaguars.

The rollercoaster ride that is “tertiary target in a Tee Higgins/Ja’Marr Chase-centric offense.” Erick All (2/5 on three targets) lead Bengals tight ends in receptions. Drew Sample (36 of 60) led Bengals tight ends in snaps. Starting Gesicki will pay off at times, but this wasn’t one of them. He’s a TE2 in Week 3 against the Steelers.
  • CIN Tight End #88
Gesicki led the Bengals in catches, targets and yards and was the only pass catcher to score on an afternoon where the Bucs’ defense was funneling Joe Burrow to the middle of the field. Gesicki’s score was a two-yarder where he rolled in to the end zone in the first quarter. Gesicki’s yardage total would have been his second highest of 2025. He’s a valuable real-life contributor, but he is going to have trouble cracking the top 18 tight ends on a regular basis with Ja’Marr Chase, Tee Higgins and Chase Brown all usage monsters for the Bengals.

Baby’s practice notes indicate that incumbent No. 3 WR Andrei Iosivas and No. 1 TE Mike Gesicki are the other two competitors for the role, and both players “had productive springs.” Pitcher also said RB Chase Brown “can sometimes be viewed as a slot receiver,” but those types of comments are common in the summer and rarely pan out in the fall. Iosivas and Gesicki have been helpful contributors, but the fact that the team is searching for an answer at the No. 3 receiving role is indicative of their ceilings. Pitcher believes Young is “going to fight and battle” this summer, and thinks there are things Young “can do quickly and help us.” If he can actually become the team’s third-most voluminous target earner, he could pay off as a late-round best ball pick.

Hot off a rebound 2024 season, Gesicki inked a three-year, $25.5 million contract to stay in Cincinnati in the offseason. It became apparent early in the year that Gesicki would not be giving Bengals fans an encore in 2025. He was held under 20 receiving yards in each of his first six games before a pec injury sent him to injured reserve. Gesicki started to turn things around after coming off IR, totaling 35 yards on four grabs in Week 12. At the time, it was his best game of the year. He eventually popped for a few other meaningful games, though he ultimately topped 50 yards just once on the year. He posted a 28/307/2 receiving line in total. The Bengals could save $3.3 million in cap space with a $4.3 million dead cap hit if they move on from him after the year. Either way, we don’t expect him to be on the fantasy radar in 2026.

This is close to Gesicki’s standard statline when the Bengals’ offense is at full strength, which it is at the current moment. They have a rough Week 18 matchup in the Browns, meaning Gesicki probably won’t be much of a DFS play even with the usual final Sunday chicanery primed to be more insane than ever this season.
  • CIN Tight End #88
This was only the fourth time all season Gesicki caught at least three passes, though the score was his second in three weeks. Good for him, but there’s still no reason to rank Gesicki in the top 20 for Week 17 against the Cardinals. Even in that plus matchup, you need to do better for the fantasy finals.

Taylor told reporters that Higgins — who was checked multiple times after a couple major hits on Sunday — reported symptoms after the game. Given the quick turnaround from his last concussion, it would be surprising if Higgins managed to play this week. It looks like Andrei Iosivas and Mitchell Tinsley, as well as Mike Gesicki, will be solidly on the 12-team radar for Week 15.

NFL Network’s Ian Rapoport reports Raiders are expected to activate WR Jack Bech (forearm) from injured reserve ahead of Week 8.

Bech has been on the shelf since fracturing his arm in Week 3, missing the minimum required four games due to the injury. He returns to a passing offense that has been heavily concentrated amongst Brock Bowers and Tre Tucker, unlikely to be a usable weekly fantasy asset. Fantasy managers can stash the youngster in hopes of a growing role moving forward.

TreVeyon Henderson (illness) was ruled out for Week 8 against the Dolphins.

Henderson first popped on the injury report with a missed practice Thursday before maintaining that status to end the week, ultimately unable to play through the ailment while being ruled out Saturday. Rhamondre Stevenson steps into a potential workhorse role against the downtrodden Dolphins, where he will be an upside RB2 in Week 8. Expect the team to elevate another back from their practice squad ahead of Sunday’s game.

A.J. Brown (knee) was ruled out for Week 8 against the Dolphins.

This was always thought to be the case after Brown missed Thursday and Friday with a “flare up” of an existing knee injury, the same issue that ultimately saw the Rams back out of trade negotiations this offseason. Brown’s absence comes at a horrible time for a team already without Mack Hollins and Romeo Doubs, leaving only DeMario Douglas, Kyle Williams, and Efton Chism as healthy wide receivers on the active roster. Fantasy managers in a bind could consider taking a shot on upside through Williams’ downfield role against a Dolphins team bleeding explosive passing through the first seven weeks.

A previous report from Ian Rapport stated the 29-year-old defensive tackle suffered a significant foot injury and would be out for the foreseeable future. Payne will be placed on injured reserve as he’s set to miss the rest of the season. He recorded a sack, a forced fumble and 14 tackles in six games with the Commanders this year.

NBC 26 Northeast Wisconsin reports “newly released records show additional women contacted the Hobart/Lawrence (Wisconsin) Police Department to report alleged physical incidents involving Josh Jacobs.”

The Wisconsin television station received “heavily redacted” police reports on Friday evening, though they included allegations from three other women. There are multiple extremely disturbing allegations of physical violence. One alleged incident took place in January 2022. The accuser “contacted investigators in June after learning about the May investigation, telling police the allegations sounded similar to her prior experience with Jacobs.” She also said the incident had “never been reported to law enforcement, (and that she) contacted police when she believed her alleged experience with Jacobs could be relevant to the case.” The allegations highlight the folly of the NFL’s apparent wish that the situation would just go away. It has not, and now it is quite possible, if not likely, that Jacobs ends up suspended for the remainder of the 2026 season. Stay tuned.

The Ringer’s Tom Pelissero reports Micah Parsons (knee) is expected to practice next week.

If Parsons returns to practice next week, the Packers will have a 21-day window where he can practice before activating him to the 53-man roster. Pelissero also reported that Parsons’ most likely return date is in Week 11 against the Rams. Including the playoffs, Green Bay is 5-8 since Parsons tore his ACL last December.

The Ringer’s Tom Pelissero reports the Colts haven’t discussed benching QB Daniel Jones.

Jones received a vote of confidence from Colts HC Shane Steichen earlier this week and now there’s a report from prominent NFL Insider Pelissero that the organization hasn’t discussed benching him. While that’s all well and good, the Colts still seem like they’re in the early stages of a process that will likely end with benching Jones at some point this year. The fact that Pelissero mentioned Jones’ contract includes a $10.51 million injury guarantee for 2027 is an ominous sign. Once the 2-5 Colts are officially eliminated from playoff contention, Indianapolis won’t have much incentive to risk injury with the oft-injured Jones.

The Athletic’s Jonathan Jones reports Giants HC John Harbaugh called Titans owner Amy Adams Strunk about trading for DT Jeffery Simmons.

With Giants GM Joe Schoen stonewalled, Harbaugh broke with traditional NFL trade-talk norms and called the Titans owner himself. Unfortunately for the Giants, the message was the same, that Simmons was off limits in trade talks. Previous reporting from Sports Illustrated’s Albert Breer stated that Bears GM Ryan Poles’ long-standing relationship with Titans GM Mike Borgonzi played a huge role in Simmons ending up in Chicago. Poles and Borgonzi first met in 2007 when Poles was a guard at Boston College and Borgonzi was a recruiting assistant.

ESPN’s Adam Schefter reports WR Garrett Wilson won’t be traded.

Wilson told reporters this week that he hasn’t requested a trade. Now Schefter reports, citing a “well-placed” source, that there’s “no way” the Jets will trade the 26-year-old wide receiver before the trade deadline. Wilson was held to two catches and 26 yards in Week 7, but remains in the WR2 mix heading into Week 8’s matchup against the Raiders.
