Puka Nacua caught 8-of-10 targets for 68 yards and a touchdown in the Rams’ Week 7 win against the Raiders, adding two rushes for ten yards.

Nacua, dealing with a calf injury, didn’t appear to be 100 percent but still got by just fine against a beatable Vegas secondary. He caught one of Matthew Stafford’s three touchdowns and led the Rams offense with ten targets. Nacua has a good chance of leading the NFL in targets for the remainder of the season with Davante Adams (hamstring) out indefinitely. His role in the LA offense makes Nacua one of the most dangerous fantasy options in the game. He gets the Chargers secondary in Week 8.

Start him. The Rams clearly feel comfortable with their superstar playing today, and we should too. Nacua’s upside is too high for him to remain on fantasy football benches. Reporting on Nacua’s ailment suggests he is not necessarily dealing with a strain. It can perhaps be best described as muscle fatigue, though we are doctors here at Rotoworld. Re-injury is possible, but we can safely expect him to handle a large workload whenever he is on the field. Nacua is a high-end WR1.

Nacua is going to test out his calf issue in warmups. Rapoport said Nacua isn’t necessarily dealing with a calf strain. He simply didn’t feel he could explode like he needed to. Nacua’s groin injury was described similarly earlier this year. Fantasy managers will want to keep an eye on this injury ahead of kickoff. If Nacua can’t go, Jordan Whittington will take on a larger role in the offense.

The fact that Nacua is not practicing today is a bad sign for his Week 7 availability. Ever the injury-related optimist, NFL Network’s Ian Rapoport reported earlier today that Nacua’s injury is “more minor than anything else,” though he quickly balanced the scales by then saying that he would not call Nacua’s quick trip to the imaging room “precautionary, because it’s not nothing.” If active, Nacua should be in fantasy football lineups because his talent and workload are almost unparalleled. Unfortunately, coach Sean McVay told reporters that Nacua felt that “he wasn’t able to have some of the power and full explosion.” Nacua is on the wrong side of questionable, and the Rams obviously do not want his injury to worsen.

As far as Nacua’s long-term status goes, this sounds like good news overall. However, Rapoport also noted that Nacua’s status for Sunday’s game against the Raiders could be “up in the air.” With Friday’s practice still to go, Nacua’s status will be one to look for later in the day, as will his designation entering the weekend. If he draws a questionable tag, fantasy managers should treat him as a true game-day decision and have a backup plan in place should be unable to play this week. Given the 4:25 PM EST start time for this game, Rams WR Konata Mumpfield could be on a short list of players worth stashing until we know more about Nacua’s availability.

Brutal. The Rams lost Davante Adams to a hamstring tendon rupture in Week 6 against the Cardinals, and now they could be without Nacua in Week 7 against the Raiders. The Rams have handled star-player injuries smartly this season. Consider Nacua highly questionable to play, and seek out a backup plan. Konata Mumpfield would serve as the de facto No. 1 wide receiver if Nacua is unable to play.

The Cardinals’ pass rush derailed the Rams’ offensive game plan early on, and Nacua was held without a target until just under 11 minutes remaining in the second quarter. Heartbreak struck on the Rams’ sixth drive. Nacua shook his coverage defender on a hitch-and-go and had no one between him and the end zone. Matthew Stafford let it rip, but was hit during the throw. Nacua dove for what should have been a 65-yard touchdown, but the pass fell incomplete. Nacua had another close call late in the game, dragging a defender for half of his downfield route, on what was ultimately flagged for DPI, but the defender’s unscrupulous tactic prevented Nacua from hauling in a 45-yarder at the Cardinals’ 10-yard line. Fortunately, Nacua and Stafford linked up for 42- and 16-yard gains on their lone touchdown-scoring drive at the end of the game, salvaging Nacua’s box score. He’s an elite WR1 against the Raiders next week.

Nacua operated as the primary option through the air for a Rams team that attempted more than 50 passes for the third straight game. The veteran alpha was mostly confined to short-area work, something that could be attributed to the groin injury that continues to have his name on the injury report in practice, but that would not keep Nacua from returning another elite WR1 performance. Nacua was also inches away from padding his stat line further after failing to come down with what would have been a 51-yard touchdown reception on the final play of the first half. Nacua and the Rams fall to 2-3 ahead of a Week 6 divisional showdown against the Cardinals, where he will remain one of the top fantasy assets in the league.

Nacua’s rushing score came on a second quarter end-around. Out there for the first time since Week 1, Nacua did what he always seems to do when active and post a dominant statline. We say “active” rather than “healthy,” as FOX’s Erin Andrews confirmed during the broadcast Nacua is dealing with some sort of sports-hernia situation. That could make him something of a week-to-week proposition but hopefully the superstar wideout has found some way to manage the pain for the rest of the season. He has a Week 5 smash spot in the Bills’ shootout-prone defense. He will also have an extra day to get healthy with the game taking place on Monday Night Football.

Andrews broke the news while reporting from the sideline of the Rams’ Week 4 game against the Eagles. Signs have been pointing to this type of injury for a while now, with the Rams referring to Nacua’s nagging injury as both a hip and groin issue. Just over two minutes remain in the third quarter, and Nacua has only come off the field for a few plays thus far. It appears as though the team has handled the injury well, though one imagines re-injury risk is still a factor. That said, he is a WR1 whenever he is active.

Looks like we’ve got ourselves an old-fashioned source-off here. Schefter says Nacua won’t be limited, while The Ringer’s Tom Pelissero said over the weekend that Nacua may be on “a stricter snap count than usual.” Even if his snaps are cut back, Nacua is one of the best per-route receivers in the NFL. He will get by for fantasy managers in whatever role the Rams give him. He is, at worst, a low-end WR1 for Week 4.

NFL Network’s Cameron Wolfe said Lamar Jackson (ankle) “won’t be 100 percent” in Week 8 against the Bills.

The good news, per Wolfe, is that Jackson will still be able to move despite playing on a bum ankle. Jackson told reporters the pain is “bearable” earlier in the week, which didn’t exactly inspire confidence from Ravens fans and fantasy managers. On the other hand, if Jackson is out there, we expect him to be mobile enough to lead a top-flight offense. A date with the Bills, which features the highest game total of the week, should also create an incredible environment for fantasy production. He is back at the top of the QB1 mix for a likely shootout with the Bills.

NFL Network’s Ian Rapoport reports the Colts want a third-round pick for Josh Downs.

The Colts are already the league’s biggest sellers ahead of the trade deadline and they’re not done yet. While they get plenty of interest in Downs, a third-round pick might be too much to ask after his slow start to the year. Downs has 26 catches for 307 yards as we approach the midway point of the season. Downs is also set to become a free agent in the spring, meaning that he might play only a handful of games for his new team. On the other hand, his disappointing season can largely be written off as the product of a failing offense. Fantasy managers should at least hold onto Downs until the trade deadline, even if he’s barely a WR3 as things stand right now.

Jordan Schultz reports the Vikings, Giants, Broncos, Bengals and Packers are amongst the teams that have “checked in” on a potential Jonathan Taylor trade.

The Vikings dots have been getting connected for a while now, so it’s not surprising to see something of a confirmation they are interested. The Giants and Bengals also make all the sense in the world. Green Bay would be a fit, as well, though it would be a bit surprising to see the Broncos add to their running back surplus. Taylor, of course, would blow their other backs out of the water. There’s enough smoke here to believe a fire might break out, but the Colts can probably be taken at their word that it would take an overpay to pry away what amounts to their franchise player right now.

ESPN’s Adam Schefter reports DJ Moore (shoulder) is expected to play in Week 8 against the Ravens.

Moore missed the Bills’ previous two games but had the bye week to get healthy. He was limited in practice throughout the week before being listed as questionable. He’s likely still not at full strength, but fantasy managers can’t be too concerned given the game environment. The Bills’ matchup with Baltimore has all of the makings of a shootout. Moore was also operating as Josh Allen’s clear No. 1 receiver before aggravating his shoulder injury. Moore is a strong WR2 option for Week 8.

NFL Network’s Ian Rapoport reports Micah Parsons (knee) is targeting a Week 12 return.

Parsons is still working his way back from the torn ACL he suffered late in the 2025 season. Per Rapoport, Parsons is expected to return to practice this week, meaning he will be designated to return from injured reserve in the coming days. He will then ramp up for a few weeks before hopefully returning in Week 12 against the Rams. Green Bay’s Week 11 bye will give him some extra time to get fully up to speed.

NFL Network’s Ian Rapoport reports Josh Jacobs is “going to continue to play, but it is possible that he gets a suspension” at the end of the league’s investigation into several claims of domestic violence against him.

A public records request revealed three additional accusations of domestic violence against Jacobs over the weekend. That is on top of the initial incident in which Jacobs ultimately pleaded no contest to misdemeanor battery and criminal damage to property. The NFL put out a statement saying they will continue to look into Jacobs’ situation. Even though Jacobs was removed from the Commissioner’s Exempt List two weeks ago, the league’s investigation was still ongoing. Rapoport notes that the league is also looking into whether Jacobs was “upfront” with them about his disturbing legal situation. Of note, Jacobs’ team pushed to have video of the most recent incident sealed from public access while the league actively sought to have it released. Rapoport makes it sound like it may take some time for a suspension to be announced, but it’s more likely than not that Jacobs is suspended because of the most recent revelations.

NFL Network’s Ian Rapoport reports Jakobi Meyers (ankle/hamstring) is “good to go” for Week 8 against the Colts.

Meyers was limited in the Jags’ first two practices of the week before being downgraded to a DNP on Friday. The team listed him as questionable, though the DNP was likely maintenance in hindsight. Meyers has topped three catches or 50 yards in just two games this year. He did, however, see 10 targets in the Jags’ Week 6 loss to the Texans before their bye. Meyers is in the WR4 mix for Week 8.

ESPN’s Jeremy Fowler reports Kenneth Gainwell (hip) is “good to go” for Week 8 against the Falcons.

Week 7 was Gainwell’s first game with more than seven touches all year. He handled 14 opportunities, all of which were carries, and they came in a 30-point blowout win over the Panthers. Unless the Bucs stay hot and roll over the Falcons, expect Gainwell’s touch total to return to the single digits. He is barely in the RB4 mix for Week 8.

ESPN’s Jeremy Fowler reports Breece Hall (quad) is “hoping for next week.”

NFL Network’s Ian Rapoport reported an hour ago that Braelon Allen will get the start, but he didn’t explicitly rule out Hall for Week 8. Fowler’s report makes things relatively black and white. Hall will miss today’s game versus the Raiders. He got in three practices this week before being listed as questionable on Friday. Though a Week 9 return is on the table, the Jets’ failure to put Hall on IR, only for him to miss at least five games, suggests his injury is worse than they initially expected. It’s possible he’s held out beyond today’s game. Braelon Allen will continue to dominate the Jets’ backfield touches until Hall returns.

ESPN’s Adam Schefter reports Treylon Burks (foot) is expected to play in Week 8 against the Eagles.

Burks was limited in Friday’s practice before being listed as questionable. With Terry McLaurin done for the year, Burks is one of several role players for the Commanders who will be asked to step up in the back half of 2026. Burks has nine catches for 152 yards and two scores in five appearances this year.
