Georgia received a verbal commitment from five-start 2022 DL Mykel Williams, formerly committed to USC.
Williams (6'5/265), a Georgia native, shocked many when he opted for USC over his hometown Bulldogs this past June. Now, Williams appears to have had a change of heart, and will be joining Kirby Smart and the Bulldogs in 2022. Williams’ decision to de-commit from USC isn’t all that surprising. They are currently 3-3 on the season, 2-3 in the Pac-12, and are being run by an interim head coach after Clay Helton was fired for a 1-1 start to this season. This is a big get for Georgia, who now has its second five-star prospect of the 2022 class secured.
