Penn State redshirt senior QB Sean Clifford completed 14-of-32 passes for 195 yards, one touchdown and two interceptions in Saturday’s 24-10 loss to Arkansas.
Clifford (6'2/219), who has already committed to returning to Penn State for a sixth season in 2022, didn’t do much to excite Penn State fans about his impending return in this one. He tossed two interceptions on the day, including one down near the goal line as Penn State was looking to mount a scoring drive. Clifford’s lone touchdown pass came on a 42-yard strike to wide receiver KeAndre Lambert-Smith, who caught the wide open pass on what may have been one of the easiest touchdown passes of the 2021-2022 college football season. Despite Clifford’s intent to return in 2022, head coach James Franklin could have a decision to make at quarterback at some point in the season, with five-start 2022 QB recruit Drew Allar set to be on campus this spring.
