  • FA Defensive Back #32

Patriots FS Devin McCourty could retire this offseason.
McCourty, 34, has spent the last 12 seasons with the Patriots. There were no signs of a dropoff last year, with McCourty playing in all 17 games and finishing with his most pass breakups (10) since 2012. An unrestricted free agent after signing a two-year extension in 2020, McCourty is likely to return with Patriots if he doesn’t retire.

  • BUF Running Back #26

Bills RB Ty Johnson (ankle) is questionable for Buffalo’s Divisional Round game against the Broncos.
Johnson got in a limited session on Thursday, which is very similar to his Friday limited last week after two DNPs that also got him to the questionable line. Our guess is that he’s on the pessimistic side of questionable. If Johnson doesn’t play, Ray Davis will be a threat for a higher snap count than usual again and be a potential DFS play for the Divisional Round slate.
Texans to force Maye into making 'home run' plays
Drew Dinsick and Jay Croucher offers a contrarian view on the Texans-Patriots matchup, leading both to take Drake Maye as the divisional round passing yards leader.
  • PHI Wide Receiver #11
When asked about potentially trading WR A.J. Brown, Eagles general manager Howie Roseman said Brown is “a great player” and it is “hard to find great players.”
In short, Roseman complimented his No. 1 wide receiver while refusing to say whether the team is open to trading him. Per Roseman, when the Eagles “go out in free agency and the Draft,” they are " trying to find great players who love football and [Brown is] that guy.” It is the type of answer one expects to hear from a smart general manager who is willing to make big moves, and it gives the audience very little to go on.
  • PHI Head Coach
Eagles head coach Nick Sirianni said the organization wants to “continue to evolve as an offense.”
Sirianni and Eagles general manager Howie Roseman held a press conference today, where they discussed former OC Kevin Patullo’s recent firing and how the team plans to find his replacement. Both individuals want to “do what’s best for this football team” and hope to find “the guy [that] best fits us.” Given Roseman’s involvement, the team is likely seeking a creative, proven and analytically-minded coach for their offensive coordinator vacancy. Former Dolphins head coach Mike McDaniel and former New York Giants head coach Brian Daboll are reportedly “at the top” of the Eagles’ list for the position.
  • CAR Coaching Staff
Panthers promoted assistant QB coach and pass game specialist Mike Bercovici to pass game coordinator.
Bercovici recently interviewed for the Commanders’ offensive coordinator vacancy, but the Panthers opt not to let Bercovici walk. Bercovici, 32, began his coaching career at Arizona State as a graduate assistant in 2019. He signed on with the Cardinals in 2020 as a coaching assistant before being promoted to offensive assistant in 2022. He joined the Panthers’ coaching staff in 2023 and has been there ever since.
  • CAR Defensive Coordinator
Raiders completed an interview with Panthers DC Ejiro Evero for their head-coaching vacancy.
This is Evero’s first reported interview. He has also received interview requests from the Steelers and Falcons this week. Evero’s defenses have delivered volatile results over the last three seasons, but the 45-year-old coach evidently remains a respected figure in league circles.
  • LAC Defensive Coordinator
Raiders completed an interview with Chargers DC Jesse Minter for their head-coaching vacancy.
Minter interviewed with the Ravens yesterday. Assuming he accepts the remaining requests, he has six reported interviews left, unless one of these teams makes him an offer he cannot refuse. The Raiders are searching for their identity after rolling with a well-seasoned coaching staff in 2024. Minter, 42, could bring a fresh perspective.
  • GB Defensive Coordinator
Falcons completed an interview with Packers DC Jeff Hafley for their head-coaching vacancy.
NBC Sports’ Pro Football Talk notes that Hafley has already interviewed with the Dolphins and Titans. The Raiders, Cardinals and Steelers hope to do the same. The Packers’ defensive coordinator will continue to be a busy interviewee, unless one of the prior teams makes him an offer.
  • HOU Wide Receiver #12
Texans WR Nico Collins (concussion) was not seen practicing on Thursday.
The Houston Chronicle’s Jonathan M. Alexander believes Collins is “a long shot” to play on Sunday against the Patriots, given “the steps he must clear.” Unfortunately, he might be right. Collins still has time to advance through the NFL’s five-phase concussion protocol, but another absence at tomorrow’s practice would be discouraging. Veteran slot WR Christian Kirk stepped up last week, catching 8-of-9 targets for 144 yards and one touchdown in the Texans’ Wild Card win over the Steelers. We expect him to operate as the team’s top target earner if Collins cannot play.
  • GB Defensive Coordinator
Steelers requested an interview with Packers defensive coordinator Jeff Hafley for their head coaching vacancy.
The Steelers are now up to seven interview requests for the opening left by Mike Tomlin. Six of them are with defensive coordinators. Without a young quarterback in need of an offensive mind at the helm, it looks like Pittsburgh will attack the other side of the ball with its head coaching hire. Hafley has been contacted by six teams for head coaching interviews. He has held the role of defensive coordinator in Green Bay for two seasons.
  • BUF Defensive Tackle #91
Bills DT Ed Oliver (bicep) is questionable for the Divisional Round against the Broncos.
Oliver and Curtis Samuel, also questionable, are on injured reserve. The Bills have to activate them from injured reserve tomorrow if they are going to play, so we will get more information on them soon. Oliver is the bigger name between the two, but even Samuel could be an important piece in the offense. Tyrell Shavers and Gabe Davis suffered season-ending injuries last week and Josh Palmer was placed on IR ahead of the playoffs. Oliver has only appeared in three games this year. He has a sack in each game.
