Brian Robinson rushed 19 times for 59 yards in the Commanders’ Week 1 win over the Cardinals, adding a seven-yard touchdown catch.
Robinson’s first quarter touchdown grab was his lone target. Improvising, he got loose in the end zone for Sam Howell. It was all Robinson needed to reach 20 touches in a grind-it-out victory. He out-touched Antonio Gibson 20-4, watching as Gibson also lost a fumble. Coach Ron Rivera can be all over the map with his running back usage, but it certainly appears Robinson is the back in Washington, and that Gibson is a shaky FLEX play right now. Robinson will be a floor-based FLEX for Week 2 against the Broncos. He could end up pushing for RB2 status.
